Chapter 17
3rd POV
Lux couldn't look at her, but he couldn't look away. She was gone, for good. He dropped Steela's sniper on the ground. Tears formed in his eyes. The one person he loved, the one person that he had a chance with, dead in front of him. Lux looked back at the king, both having a shocked and crestfallen look.
--
Lux, Ahsoka and Ezra flew down from the mountain. Saw was holding his dead sisters body in his arms. Lux kneeled next to her.
"It was my fault. I shot that gunship down, and it crashed into her position," Saw looked down at Steela. His heart shattered like glass.
"Saw, it's not your fault," Lux assured him. He caressed Steela's cheek. "She knew what the risks were. We all knew what it would take to free Onderon."
Ezra, Ahsoka and other rebels stood and watched. Ezra secretly felt responsible. He let another life slip away from his hands. But Lux was right, she knew the risks.

All the people of Onderon gathered at the king's palace. Where the funeral of Steela was held. Saw, Lux, Ahsoka and Ezra went up the steps.
Saw couldn't look at the lifeless body, even though a sheet covered Steela. He squeezed his eyes shut, but kept opening them. Not knowing whether to look or not. Lux laid a hand on his shoulder. Saw finally walked off and Lux was next. His heartbroken expression didn't need words to describe how he's feeling.
Ahsoka was third. She had a downcasted look, and lastly was Ezra. His eyes were mournful, he clenched his jaw.
"This has been quite a journey four our Padawan's," Obi-wan mumbled.
"Steela will be a powerful spirit in their lives," Anakin added. Obi-wan turned to him.
"Yes. For all of us."
Saw, Ahsoka, Lux and Ezra went into their own little group close to the Jedi. Ezra played with his hands, not knowing what to say. His wound has been treated but, when he arrives on Coruscant, he will get a full check up.
"I'm sorry for your loss," Ezra finally said. Saw stayed quiet for a few seconds. He tightened his eyes then opened them.
"Thanks, but it's over now. Let's just leave it at that," Saw walked off. Ahsoka gave him a small weird look at him and looked down at her hands.
"Steela would be glad. Her sacrifice gave Onderon it's freedom," Lux said. Trying to cheer the Padawans up.
"But at what cost?" Ahsoka sighed. "It's like you once said. Many lives get caught between the Republic and the Separatists."
"I did say that once, but after watching your heroics and the selflessness of the Jedi, I do believe the Republic is the right side to be on," Lux confessed.
"What do you mean?" Ahsoka arched her brow.
"Dendup has appointed me the new Senator of Onderon. I will follow in my mother's footsteps, and I will bring us back to the Republic."
"Remember this day, the day Onderon became free again," King Dendup praised. The crowd cheered.

A few hours after the speech and funeral, the Jedi bid their farewells and were off to Coruscant on a Republic Gunship. Ezra was nervous, he sensed sweat form on his forehead.
"You alright there, Ezra?" Anakin noticed his nervousness.
"O-Of course! I'm going back to the Jedi Temple and train with M-Master Windu once again," Ezrs stuttered. He covered his eyes and let out a big sigh.
"There's no need to worry Ezra," Obi-wan calmed his nerves. "The Jedi Council were overjoyed when they heard you were alive. However, don't be so certain about being Master Windu's apprentice again."
Ezra flicked his head to Obi-wan's direction. Along with Ahsoka, but not as fast.
"What are you talking about?" Ezra's heart beat quickened.
Anakin didn't want to answer. Yet, he had to, "Considering on who your parents were and how Master Windu teaches you, it doesn't seem like a good combination."
Ezra didn't feel convinced on getting a new Master. The first part did worry a few Jedi Masters, but still continued to show him the ways of the Force. Why change it now? Is it because he hasn't had training in over two years that he's forgotten the ways of the Jedi?
Sure Ezra likes to tap into his inner Dark Side but, that's why they had Master Windu teach him. Both of them use the Light Side and the Dark Side. Master Windu taught him how to control both. He can't help but use both sides, he is making his parents proud but, at the same time, making the Jedi proud and maybe a bit worried. He felt stuck in the middle, sometimes he thinks if it's even worth fighting for either side when he was born on one side.
'What if I didn't have to be apart of any side?' Ezra thought to himself.
"Ezra!" Ahsoka took him back to reality. They landed in the very front of the Jedi Temple. Ezra gulped. His throat dry as Tatooine. He slowly approached the Temple he calls home. The doors opened widely. Ezra smelled the air. It wasn't the best, but if reminded him of old times.
A couple of minutes later, the doors to the Jedi Council room were waiting in front of him. Ezra hesitated on pushing the heavy brown doors. He looked back at Anakin and Ahsoka. They smiled and nodded. Ezra saw Obi-wan stand next to him, and pushed the doors open.
Ezra's stomach turned. After what Anakin told him and the rest, he felt something was coming his way. He was going to talk to someone about something, personal. Something he doesn't like to talk about.
His past.
~Once again the ending is dramatic. No, this is not the end to the book. A few chapters left. So as you can tell, the plot has finally become mine. Also, I have a few edits I want to share but, I don't know if I should make a book for it or an instagram account. I have pictures of the ending.

This is when Saw walked away when he was told, "Sorry for your loss." Ahsoka's like, 'Okay, whatever. Don't take the damn sympathy. I'm being nice to you and you're not even taking it. Don't know what's wrong with you. Wait...'

HE'S FACELESS!!!!!
Anyways, I think one person asked about Ezra's parents. So I will explain Ezra's very short past. I dropped a huge hint of what his parents were. Don't forget to vote and comment what you think 😄
