Chapter 1:
Scorpius Malfoy walked a lonely street during a cool summer night just outside of London. His footsteps echoed as his feet rhythmically hit the pavement underneath him. The only sounds were those of owls hooting in the distance and crickets chirping loudly all around. Suddenly there was another sound, which came from no more than 4 meters behind him;
"Scorpius," the familiar yet foreign voice called, he had heard it speak before but never to him. It was so close yet it felt so far away, like a ghost whispering to him from the beyond. He turned to see none other than Albus Potter facing him. The moonlight shone in his forest green eyes like emeralds, his Raven hair lay perfectly imperfect atop his head.
"Albus, what are you..." Scorpius never finished his sentence. Albus drew nearer and Scorpius seemed to have lost the ability to speak, suddenly the other boys lips were pressed against his own, in a warm tingly sensation he'd never felt before. Albus's hands were on Scorpius's neck, right under his almost white blonde hair. Scorpius's silver eyes shut promptly, there's no way this could be real.
"Scorpius, Scorpius!" The voice had changed it was no longer the sweet sweet sound of albus potter but of a much more familiar voice. His eyes shot open to find his mother shaking him awake. He could almost feel the tingle in his lips that he had felt not moments before, but alas he knew he had been dreaming. The blonde grew slightly sad.
"Scorius come on, get your stuff together. We must get to the train it leaves in less than an hour! Go go go!" His mother rushed him. Suddenly he shot out of bed, he remembered what today was, September first. He'd get on the Hogwarts express today and go to Hogwarts! Oh Hogwarts a second home to him for the past three years, yet seemed so lonely, so empty. Of course scorpius knew why it felt that way, because it was. He had no friends at Hogwarts, not even his sister or his dorm mates spoke to him. The place that brought so much joy to others, and at times to him, was the loneliest place he could imagine.
He quickly, and haphazardly, threw his spell books and school supplies into his wooden truck. The last item he put into his suitcase was a long narrow stick of wood he'd known too well. He'd used this very broom to try-out for the Ravenclaw quidditch team for the last three years, he couldn't tell whether he didn't make it because he wasn't good enough or just because everyone hated him but either way he'd never even been considered. This year he was determined to finally make it on the team, he would be seeker just like his father. Along with his school supplies, broom and wand he also carried a fairly large brass cage. Inside was his beloved friend and messenger Theseus, a small gold and white tawny owl that stood by him even though no one else did.
"Scorpius hurry up I don't want to be late!" This time his mother wasn't the one rushing him, in his doorway stood his sister, Amaranth Malfoy stood in his doorway. Her platinum ringlets fell to her shoulders, she looked like our mother except for them. Everyone said that he resembled my father greatly, but he didn't quite see it though he didn't quite look like his mother either.
"I said hurry up, it doesn't look like you're going any faster!" She hissed. She, like his dad, was a slythern which meant she came with nasty attitude and self centered roots. Fortunately for scorpius his fathers former nastiness had mostly died out over the years, unfortunately his sister was the same nasty person she'd been since he was born.
"Just because you're older doesn't mean you're the boss," He mumbled almost inaudibly as he closed his trunk and began to drag it towards the door and eventually to the staircase.
"Oh I'll help you with that dear," his mother said in a sing songy voice, though he could detect a hint of sadness in it (much like everytime He leave for school) "wingardium leviosa!" She said pointing her wand at the heavy trunk, which promptly lifted off the ground and floated closer to his mother, finally landing next to her ready for him to drag to the car, which we would only use to get to London since scorpius couldn't disapperate there like his sister and parents could. He heaved his heavy truck into the truck of the car and promptly shut it. He then made his way to the side door, opened it and sat himself on the seat closest the the window, placing Theseus's cage in the middle seat next to him.
Soon enough his small family made there way to the car and they began to drive towards London. Scorpius gazed out the window and watched as they approached the street he knew all too well as of last night, the same street albus potter had kissed him in his dream. A large grin erupted on his face, which he couldn't get to go away until he finally reached the train station. He knew exactly where he needed to go, platform nine and three quarters. He remembered the first time he came to this place, so full of hope and joy that his years at Hogwarts would be happy and wonderful, like the tales his parents had told of the place.
The car stopped and each of them got out of the car, leaving it for his father to take home later, and went to the back to get their trunks. Of course Amaranth put hers directly on top of his and then yelled at him for taking forever to get it out of the trunk.
"Leave him alone Ama," my mother sweetly defending scorpius, his mother was so kind it was a wonder she wasn't placed in hufflepuff though she was quite clever as well. Scorpius, with difficulty, managed to get his trunk in his shopping cart to go through the platform in a few moments. Theseus hooted lovingly as he was the last thing to be placed in the shopping cart, scorpius placed his finger near the cage and Theseus nipped it in a affectionate manner. Scorpius pushed his shopping cart until he found the pillar labeled 9. He caught a glimpse of fiery red hair disappear in the bricks.
"Alright, Ama you first," my father said behind me, but Ama had already pushed her cart and herself through the wall and onto the other side. My father sighed loudly, "alright your turn," he said. I pushed myself through the wall once more and found myself staring at a large scarlet steam engine. Every time he saw it the sheer size still startled him. Moments later his parents appeared out the wall behind him. He gave his mother a long hug, and his father a shorter but no less affectionate one before heading towards the entrance, where he saw that scorpius's sister had not said good bye to his parents but in turn met up with her friends. Scorpius frowned, her friends were as awful as her but at least she had some. He made his way onto the train and found an empty compartment at the end of the forth year car.
He sat in the right corner closed to the window. He placed his trunk on the bench across from him, since he knew no one would occupy the seat and Theseus beside him. He laid his head against the cold metal side of the compartment. After what seemed like ages of waiting and waiting he finally heard noise, but it wasn't the start of the train it was a voice.
"Ugh mind if we sit?" The voice asked softly yet confidently. Scorpius turned his head towards the direction of the voice and he couldn't believe his eyes, the one who had spoken was none other than Albus Potter.
