Emerald was a young man who had a passion for fishing. He would spend hours by the river, casting his line and waiting patiently for a bite. One day, Emerald was enjoying a peaceful day by the water's edge, hoping to catch a fish. While he was gazing at his fishing rod, a sudden movement caught his eye. A large fish swam past him at lightning speed, leaving him feeling a twinge of disappointment at missing such an opportunity. The fish's green scales glimmered in the sunlight, making it a majestic sight to behold. Despite his disappointment, Emerald could not help but appreciate the beauty of the creature that had just slipped away.

The young man lay down on the soft grassy riverbank with a sense of tranquility. As he gazed at the mesmerizing waters flowing past him, his attention was drawn to the rocks beside him. He noticed that the stones had a unique quality - they were polished, their rough edges smoothed over by the constant ebb and flow of the river. The natural beauty of the surroundings seemed to captivate him, and he was reminded of a melodious song he had heard countless times since childhood - "Green" by Cavetown. The lyrics and melody of the song echoed in his mind as he soaked in the peaceful surroundings and the serene ambiance of the moment.

"This is erosion, grinding up rocks with your molars

A big fish swims past your rod

You can't catch it, it's far too fast

Deep hook marks in rubber lips

I see your eyes in the flowers

I'll pick a bunch for your room

Green and blue to match your pictures."

While looking at the serene waters, Emerald's thoughts drifted to Ivy, a girl who once held his heart. He reminisced about how stunning she looked in green and how her pearly white teeth brightened his day. Despite the sweet memories, he still felt a tinge of melancholy because he knew she had moved on with someone else. The serene environment surrounding Emerald stood in stark contrast to the raging storm within his heart. He was lost in deep contemplation, pondering the endless possibilities of what could have been and struggling to come to terms with the harsh realities of his current situation.

Emerald, led by his considerate heart, decided to pick some flowers for Ivy. He knew how much she loved flowers and how they always made her smile. With that in mind, Emerald decided to take a trip to the meadow nearby in search of the perfect blooms to gift to her. After wandering around, Emerald came across a patch of vibrant green and blue flowers that caught his eye. Immediately, he knew they would be perfect for Ivy since their colors matched the ones in her paintings. While carefully picking the flowers, Emerald could not help but think about how much Ivy would cherish his gifts, even if they were only friends now. With a bouquet of beautiful flowers in his hand, he headed back home, eager to surprise Ivy with his thoughtful gesture.

"You looked so good in green, I hope you're well

And you look so good with him, and I'm proud of you still

I miss your perfect teeth, I was too blunt

I hope you feel happy, that's all I want

That's all I want."

When he entered the kitchen, he could not help but feel a little teary. The memory of Ivy's last visit was still fresh in his mind, and he could not shake off his disappointment in himself. He recalled how he had made a mess of things and let his nerves get the best of him. He had been nervous around Ivy, which was visible in his behavior and speech. He had stumbled over his words, knocked over a vase, and made a general fool of himself.

"Haiz, that was a total disater!" Emerald exclaimed.

Regardless, he had since moved on from his mistake and was determined to lift his spirits by singing his heart out. He had always loved singing. It was one of the few things that could make him forget his troubles. As he made his way to the kitchen, he hummed a tune and thought about the songs he could sing. He knew that singing would make him feel better and give him the confidence to face the world. Coincidentally, he chose to sing "Green" by Cavetown.

"Mess in the kitchen, I was so disappointed

I guess I got to my head

And I was too young to understand it

I get it now that it's too late

I never stopped feeling guilty

I'm over it, I promise that

I just gotta sing it out of me."

While sitting alone on the couch, Emerald stared at the warm red shirt he had lent to Ivy once. The shirt held a deep sentimental value for him, as it was a treasured reminder of the good times he had spent with Ivy. Emerald did not want to be pitiable but constantly wondered if Ivy still considered him a friend and whether she took good care of his shirt. The mere thought of losing Ivy's friendship filled him with a sense of unease, and he held on to the hope that they would remain good pals for eternity.

"You looked so good in Green, I hope you're well

And you look so good with him, and I'm proud of you still

Take care of my shirt, warm and red

I hope you think of me still as your friend

I hope you love yourself, your body and heart

I hope you feel happy, that's all I want

That's all I want."

After singing the song and looking back on their time together, Emerald felt much better. He knew he had been a part of her journey, which gave him a sense of fulfillment. His ultimate desire for Ivy was to see her blissful and content. He longed for her to cherish and appreciate herself physically and emotionally, hoping she would never doubt her worth. And even though they were not a couple anymore, Emerald still felt a sense of pride for Ivy and her accomplishments whenever he heard of her latest achievements. His sincerest wish was for her to continue to thrive and succeed in all aspects of her life, whether it be in her career, personal relationships, or innermost passions, and never lose sight of her inherent value and beauty. Lightened by this benevolent idea, Emerald sighed, then laughed, "Maybe it's time I should move on and find my new love."
