"I'm cutting you off. You've had enough."

I try to snatch the bottle back from the bartender, Craig. He's human, but has been around enough drink supernaturals (aka me) to know what we are.

Surprisingly, he didn't flip when I introduced him to Vik. Apparently, they already have an understanding. Something about informing about people, I don't know.

"Hey! Give it back."

I again reach for the bottle, but Craig just puts it back on the shelf. I slump onto the counter and heave out a sigh.

"What is wrong with you? I haven't seen you get this drunk in awhile."

"My usually easy score isn't available."

The look he gives is incredulous. He sets a shot glass in front of me and pours a bit of vodka and hands it over.

"Last one. Then go home."

"Aww, don't you want to come home with me?"

I lace magic into my slurred words. Craig just glares at me before lifting a pendant out of his shirt. I reel back at the necklace.

"Wanna try again?"

"Where the fuck did you get a cat's eye?!"

"Vik. He had one of his friends get it... I think Ethan? Said it would come in handy. You are proof of that."

At that point, a dark haired guy feels his way along the counters and walks up behind Craig and jabs his fingers into his side. Craig jumps and lets out a scream before turning ready to tell off whoever did that.

Instead, he falters then pulls the person into a big hug. The other person hugs them back, pressing a kiss to his cheek in the process.

"JORDAN!"

They part and Craig directs them to look at me. The milkiness of their eyes startles me at first, but then their aura hits me. I take a sharp breath.

"Oh, JJ. Jordan has been dying to meet you."

The guy, Jordan, holds out his hand slightly towards me, but off course. I grip his hand and give a little shake. Craig wraps his arms around the smaller boy, a proud smile glossing his face.

Jordan's face crinkles and he draws his hand back quickly.

"I didn't need to see that."

"What did you see?"

"Go talk to the blonde over there and you'll know."
