"Harry, stop being a tease. I can't handle it right now."
"Gonna start humping my leg or something, pup?"
"One more dog joke and you're sleeping on the couch."
"..."
"Don't."
"I'm in the doghouse, aren't I?"
My back hits the floor and a weight settles on top of me. My breath falters for a minute as my lungs adjust to the added pressure. He smirks as he looks down on me, victory swimming in his eyes. I just give a little hum and tilt my head slightly. My eyes flash to their 'normal' color and his own eyes squint at me, a growl rumbling in his throat.
"Don't you dare Harold."
"Tsk. Tsk. So rude, pup."
Before he can slap his hand over my mouth, I click my tongue once. Twice. Three times. Black smoke curls around him and wind picks up in the room.
In place of my beautiful soulmate, is a magnificent beast in its own right. Black tendrils of smoke rise off of the hound that's now sitting on my chest. His tongue pokes out of his mouth and he growls a bit. I can't help but laugh at how defeated he looks.
Laugh it up, Harold. You're still sleeping on the couch.
"Aww, my pup wouldn't be so cruel."
To prove my point, I started scratching behind his right ear. Immediately, he flops to the floor, panting and legs twitching. Happy little woofs emitting from him periodically.
Fine. You can stay. As long as you behave.
"Thanks for throwing me a bone."
Teeth clamp down on my forearm.
