Chapter 22
Eliana Adler's POV

I was sitting at a corner and so was Laura. We both didn't talk at all. It felt awkward, i cleared my throat and she stared at me. I wanted to break the ice but still hesitated. She seems awfully quiet right now, it's like she was in a deep thought.

"Hey you feeling okay" I asked Laura. She rolled her eyes at me. What an attitude! I was just trying to be nice with her. I guess this 24 hours are going to be super boring.

After few minutes I heard a faint voice. "not fine, how about you?" Said Laura and stare at me. So she can talk!

"Obviously not fine, this place Stinks" i said while chuckling. I don't know what I was trying to do, maybe I was trying to bond with her. Maybe we started on the wrong foot. Through the small circular area which was not even enough to call it as a window, i could see some nature outside but as sun goes down everything turns dark. The place was very claustrophobic for me but I was breathing heavily to keep myself calm. On the other hand Laura didn't seem to struggle that much. She seemed very very calm which kinda made me uncomfortable.

"So did you get this punishment before" I asked to Laura, she blink couple of time then open her mouth to answer.

"Yes, once before this, i was punished because I rejected my mate and force Zach to be mine forever but that didn't work out cause he was waiting for his stupid mate to arrive" Laura said with an cold attitude. I was too shock too say anything. Here i thought we were bonding, she is a real pain in the ass. Why would she rejected her own mate for Zachary? Isn't mates are your soulmate? She would have been happier with her own mate than someone who is not interested in her at all. She was trying to see some reaction i guess but i am too good at hiding my expressions. I won't make her satisfied. Well atleast i know now why she is so calm in this damn dark dome.

"I hope Zachary told you that i used to satisfy him every night when he was scared and in guilt of killing so many of his own people, he was really nice in bed" Laura said with a sarcastic tone and smirk, she was really enjoying this punishment. She is just lying now, I don't believe her at all. If Zach was waiting for his mate why would he fuck some wannabe his mate girl? She wants me to get angry on purpose. I shrug her off. She squint her eyes at me with an intense look, it sent chills down my spine.

"You don't believe me? Well it was all truth, Zachary is a monster, he killed so many of his group members just because they were sick. I realised i was in love with a monster and i loved it. He was so ruthless but then he changed" she paused and stood up and stare at the small circular open space. I knew that part already, it was in my vision when I was stabbed by the skin walker. She don't know that I already know about all of these. I am not surprised she is trying to play a dangerous card. Zachary was never a monster, he did what he had to do to save himself and other packmates. I don't need to believe anything else, everything is a lie out of her mouth. I remained silent cause that what seemed right.

"He changed cause of you. I hate it, i hate you. He was so much more happy before. He is suffering inside and i know it" Said Laura while staring at the open space. I couldn't stay silent anymore, she was going on and on and it was annoying.

"Judging by your words, i think your mate rejected you and not the other way around. Zachary did the same cause you are too annoying to handle" i said while rolling my eyes at her. I saw as she clenched her fist. The venomous arrow hit the spot, she show some reaction. I can play this game all day. But she will be hurt the most. If she stop all this, is would too, I tried to nicely talk to her but she hate me too much. Her hatred has overwhelmed her.

Laura stared at me and move a little closer. She suddenly started laughing which made me nervous and anxious for some reason. Her laugh was creepy and unsettling. I think she completely lost it.

"Let's end the game here. It's a gift for you, i successfully spread the virus everywhere, soon they all be infected and you my precious Eliana won't be able to stop it on time. I have got enough power now to save myself and Zachary. We would be so happy once you and other are gone forever" said Laura with a slight happiness in her tone. What? She is a complete psycho. Why would she do that? I need to warn everyone before it's too late. I quickly searched for the bell near me but it was not there. Where does it go?

I heard faint noise of the bell and look at Laura with shock. She was holding the small bell in her hand.

"Looking for this? Unfortunately you won't get it and this will the last thing you will see" Laura said as she walk closer to me slowly. Oh shit! This is so bad. It was all her plan from the beginning. She did all of this to get Zachary back but it's not gonna work, he doesn't love her.

"Please Laura you don't have to do this. We can work this out, if you surrender now, i am sure everyone will forgive you" i said with shakiness in my voice. Her smile turn into a grin. Her eyes were bloodshot, she looked deadly. Maybe she got infected too when she was trying to spread the virus but how did she do it? It was not possible for her to do all that alone. Then i realised that she killed the skin walker to arrange this punishment scenario, maybe she was involved with skin walker all along.

"You knew the skin walker, didn't you? You were helping it" I asked while furrowing my eyebrows. She seemed proud with her devilish work.

"Obviously! It was all my idea. But that shit was useless so I made my own new plan. But that skin walker did help me to get more powerful with its spellbook, i will finish the work that it started. I will take your seer power and help Zachary while you can rot in here and die a slow painful death" she said as the whole room echoed with her laugh. She was plotting all that from the start. I should have known, i was too busy with my own self that i ignored all these around me.

I am disgusted but also sad for her. She lost it because she couldn't get love from someone she looked upto. I know what it feels like to love someone and not getting it in return. She and I are not that different. I look upto my parents, longed for their love but never got anything in return. The only difference is that i won't hurt them cause I love them too much but Laura is ready to hurt Zachary and i won't let that happen. I have to get out of here. 'Use your brain Eliana', i need a strategy. Maybe I can knock her out. No! Let's try distraction method. First I'll distract her then I'll try to take the bell.

"No one is coming to save you" she said with so much joy that it made me nervous and scared. Shit! I am a scaredy cat.

"You don't have to kill me to get Zachary, I will reject him and go forever, pleased don't kill me" i said while begging her, it was just a distraction. I slowly moved towards her. She seemed confused for a second or she was shocked i quite didn't get it.

"Wow you didn't even take time to leave Zachary just to save yourself. You are not at all worthy of him" she replied back with a satisfied look. It's working, i should keep going. I moved a little closer.

"I never really loved Zachary, i was just using him" i said while crying. The cry was real though, i was ready to shit my pants.

"This is the side he needs to see right now, i always knew something was off about you guys relationship" said Laura. Yeah good she is pretty much distracted for me to act. I quickly jumped and snatched the bell from her hand. She look stunned. I quickly ring the bell twice. She move her hands towards me and punch my face, i fell back holding my nose. Atleast someone will come to help now.

"You Little bitch! I will end you. Everyone must be infected by now, so no one can come to help they must be busy" she said as she move forward and grab me by my hair then hit my head on the concrete floor multiple times until i felt the crimson red blood on the floor, my eyes widen, it felt like a dream for a moment.

Suddenly the huge doors open up and I saw blurry face of Aster on the other end. He was coughing and looked sick, he must be infected. Aster's eyes were widen when he saw my condition. I think I got a concussion.

"What is happening? Are you okay miss Eliana?" Said Aster and as he was walking closer to me, Laura jumped on him and twisted his neck with full strength, the sound of breaking bone echoed through the room. I couldn't speak at all, I only watched, I was too afraid and Laura was dangerous. As I saw Aster's lifeless body fell on the ground, it followed by a howl which was equally filled with pain and suffering, I could feel it was his mate. Tears didn't stop rolling down my eyes. Laura lost her humanity, she turned towards me and as I thought she was going to kill me, she stopped and vanished into the darkness.

Did she just speared my life? No! Something far more evil is coming and we are not prepared to face it.
