"I am!" Yelled almost half the class very excitedly not including Alisa who was still rocking the whole stress ball Alisa thing. "Well you will get that in about two hours enjoy the ride quietly until we get there please!" He Said laughing when his speech triggered a series of unhappy groans that almost sounded like dying animals. "Did you bring music?" Arthur whispered to her quietly. "Darn it I knew I forgot something!" She said under her breath to him she just whispered "No." "Do you want to share?" He Asked offering her a pair of earbuds. "Well-" she started "I have an adapter." He Said cutting her off. "Oh well I brought my phone I just didn't bring earbuds." "Oh here." He Said handing her his extra pair. "Thanks." She mumbled. Putting on One Direction because it always seemed to lift her mood a little bit. Of course her most depressing one direction song came on. She listened to it anyway looking out the window at the passing scenery. Grass, flowers, trees, sky, clouds, a kitten? That caught her attention she jumped up looking back at the limping kitten. "STOP THE BUS!" She yelled the bus screeched to a halt. "Ms. Walt what's wrong?" Asked her history teacher grabbing her arm when She tried to rush past him. "There is a wounded kitten on the side of the road!" Alisa practically yelled rushing out of the bus and over to the kitten. It tried to run away but couldn't and toppled over looking very much like a potato. It was orange with white stripes. "Come here little guy. I won't hurt you." She said calmly walking over and scooping the scared kitten into her arms. The second It touched her it was immediately calm purring and rubbing up against her. Her teacher ran out followed by the bus driver. "What are you doing?!" Yelled her teacher who was obviously very upset with her. "I was saving this kitten." She said in a defense tone. "Well that is very noble of you but will you please get back on the bus?" He Said obviously very tired. "Yes sir sorry." She said quietly hiding under her hoodie when she realized all the kids on the bus where watching her. She walked back to the bus tripping slightly on the stairs as she walked past the eyes some glaring some looking proud. She sat down right back where she was finally examining the kittens leg. "What where you thinking?!" Asked Arthur quietly but very angrily. "I couldn't leave it there." She said turning away. His eyes softened "Well I am glad I sat with you. You actually did something." He said petting the kitten gently under the chin earning a purr. She set to work on its leg which was really messed up. She bit back tears when she realized it had tracks on it like it had been run over by a car. Suddenly she realized she couldn't save his tiny leg. A tear she hadn't realized was there slipped down her cheek. "Hey you okay?" Asked Arthur. "No." She admitted. "Why what's wrong?" He Asked "I don't think he is gonna get to keep his leg." She said a sob slipping past her lips. He bit back tears of his own looking at the little kitten with some of the saddest eyes she had ever seen. "Well." He said quietly trying to think of something to say. "We should still name it right!" He Said his face twisting up into a smirk. "I say Mr. sparkles." He Said obviously joking. "What about Prince?" She asked the kitten. "Hm Na I still vote Mr. sparkles." He Said finally making her smile. "Okay Prince it is." She said making him scowl. She now had something new in her life and maybe just maybe it would change her life forever.
