Six young adults sat across from one another, sipping awkwardly on various types of drinks.
The girl with short brown hair spoke up, "So um...Lacey?"
A girl with black hair shifted her teal eyes towards the brunette, "Yes?"
"Don't you have a sister?"
Lacey nodded and stirred her drink with her straw, "Yes, but she lives in Galar."
The brunette nodded and went back to awkwardly sipping her iced tea. The two boys sitting next to her whispered something to one another, and the older boy spoke first.
"So uh...you guys think our parents really used to kill people?" He asked.
A sigh suddenly passed through the group.
"They couldn't really have done something that bad, right?" A pink haired girl asked.
The red head beside her shrugged, "Dad does that now."
"Amber! No he does not!"
Amber looked at her sister with a raised eyebrow, "Look Garnet, I know you're away most of the time, but Dad's for sure shot people. Is it such a stretch to believe he's killed?"
"Isn't your dad a cop?" A boy with brown hair asked.
Amber and Garnet nodded.
"Oh so he's for sure killed someone." The oldest boy said, leaning back in his chair.
Garnet scowled, "No he hasn't!"
The boy smirked, "Somehow, your frown makes you even more beautiful."
The brunette stared at her brother in disgust, "Why are you so gross?" She whispered.
"You're just bitter cause you're tied down."
"I'm really not."
The young boy with brown hair closed his eyes in thought, "I bet Mom could kill- no problem."
"Gray's right," The older boy agreed, "She wouldn't even feel bad about it."
"Illusion be quiet..." The brunette groaned.
"You know I'm right, Juniper." Illusion said, taking a sip of his beer. He cringed and looked at the bottle in disgust, "What's in this? Pure hatred?"
Gray rolled his silver eyes, "Then quit drinking it."
"No, fuck you."
"Your face is pretty but your personality is lacking substance..." Lacey whispered, "Were you not hugged enough by your mother?"
"Thank you for that."
Amber turned to Lacey, "So what about you? Think your dad is capable of murder?"
Lacey shook her head, "No. He's threatened my uncle a bunch of times and never went through with it. And my uncle is pretty annoying."
Illusion sighed, "I wish I had an uncle. Would have been nice to have real man around growing up."
Juniper frowned, "What about Dad?"
Illusion chuckled, "Okay Juniper. Sure."
Lacey raised an eyebrow, "I think your dad is quite nice."
Illusion put his hands in his hoodie pocket, "Oh well yeah I'm not saying he's not nice. He's a great guy, he's just soft is all."
"And that's bad?" Amber asked, "I wish my dad was softer. His first reaction when we did something bad was to yell."
"My father never even let me leave Aether Paradise," Lacey said, "My sister hardly escaped our father's watchful eye. Luckily, our mother mellowed him out."
Amber nodded, "Our mom could do the same thing with our dad. No matter how angry he got, Mom could always calm him right down."
"Our parents were hardly ever angry. Just 'disappointed' and all that crap. They were always really happy, too. Couldn't always figure why, though." Gray said.
Illusion groaned, "Seriously dude? It's cause they had each other."
Gray gagged, "Ew love."
The group fell silent after that, not really knowing what to say. After everyone finished what remained of their drinks, Lacey spoke up.
"Um...do you guys want to see Aether Paradise?"
The Harmonia children all lit up.
"Yes!" Juniper gasped.
"Show us!" Illusion added.
"It's the only reason I'm here!" Gray said.
Lacey chuckled nervously and turned to the Soul children, "You two up to it?"
Garnet shrugged, "Sure."
"Why not?" Amber agreed.
The group got up from their table and exited the bar they were in to go visit Aether Paradise. Their parents would all be gone for another few hours, so they were certain it would be okay. They were sure their parents would be pleased to see that their children were getting along just fine.
