Wounded
Hilda threw Silver's bedroom door open. Silver didn't even flinch, "Hey Hilds..." he croaked.
Lyra and N trailed Hilda into the room. N leaned against the wall with crossed arms, and Lyra put her hands on her hips, "I'll take it you know what happened here, Hilda." Lyra hissed.
Hilda frowned and turned to the window. The curtains were closed, so she opened them. Silver groaned at the light as Hilda turned to look at him.
Silver was laying in his bed, shirt off and a bandage wrapped around his stomach. Blood was beginning to seep through the bandages, as Silver was too weak to change them, and he would not allow Lyra to even touch them.
"Hardly..." Hilda grunted, copying Lyra's body language, "Gladion squealed on you, ya know?"
Silver looked away, "I'm sorry..."
"I told you it was dangerous!" Hilda exclaimed, "That's why we weren't going!"
"That's why you weren't going..." Silver whispered, "I'm sorry I upset you..."
Hilda sighed. She walked over to Lyra, "Go sit with him and put his head in your lap."
Lyra frowned, "What?"
"Just do it." Hilda hissed, digging around in her bag.
Lyra sat behind Silver and put him between her legs. She put his head in her lap. Silver looked up at her and smiled weakly, "Hi sweetie..."
Lyra smiled down at Silver and kissed his forehead, "Hi Silvey!"
Hilda sat beside Silver on the edge of the bed and pulled bandages and a washcloth. She turned to N, "Would you put soap and warm water on this please, honey?" Hilda asked, holding out the washcloth.
N bit his lip and nodded. He took the cloth from Hilda and went to search for the Soul's bathroom.
"Keep him distracted." Hilda ordered, beginning to unwrap Silver's bandages.
"Huh?" Lyra asked.
"Just be really affectionate with him."
"He hates that!"
"Do it."
Lyra rolled her eyes and looked down at Silver. He somehow seemed to miss the conversation Lyra and Hilda had. His eyes seemed too fixated on Lyra's face.
Lyra put her hands on the sides of Silver's face and grinned down at him, "Hi my Silvey! I love you!" She sang, peppering Silver's face with kisses.
Silver grinned and giggled softly. Lyra blinked in surprise. Silver suddenly grimaced as Hilda finished taking off his bandages. N finally returned with the soapy washcloth. He handed it to Hilda and she got to work.
There was a large gash on Silver's stomach. It was still lightly bleeding, and the area around it was heavily bruised, like after he was slashed, someone kicked him really hard. Hilda dabbed around the wound, cleaning off some of the blood and attempting to clean the cut.
Every time Silver winced at the pain, Lyra planted a kiss on his forehead. He seemed to enjoy the kisses, which Lyra found a tad strange. Of course, he loved when she kissed him, but he usually hated excessive affection- that's why Lyra was skeptical of Hilda's command to be affectionate with him.
Hilda, satisfied with the now clean cut, grabbed her new bandages and started wrapping them around Silver's stomach. She was going to have to kill Silver later for going on that mission. It was dangerous, and Hilda already told Silver and Gladion that no one was going on it. Gladion said Silver decided to go anyway. Why? Neither Gladion nor Hilda had a clue.
Silver looked up at Lyra with pleading eyes, "More?"
Lyra blinked, "More what?"
Silver frowned, "Kiss?"
Lyra blushed, "Y-You want more kisses?"
Silver nodded.
Lyra's face turned the color of her husband's hair and leaned down to place a kiss on his lips. When she pulled away, Silver grinned, "I love you..." he whispered.
"I love you, too..." Lyra whispered back.
Silver suddenly winced as Hilda ties his bandages.
"Sorry..." Hilda mumbled.
Silver attempted to sit upright, "It's okay..."
Lyra moved to the side of their bed and put her hands on Silver's back and shoulder to steady him.
"What on earth were you thinking, Silv?" Hilda asked.
Silver sighed and looked down, "I..."
"You could've gotten yourself killed," Hilda said sternly, "This was really dangerous! What would've happened if Gladion hadn't told me?"
Silver bit his lip, "I-I didn't want you and Gladion to go on it...I-I didn't want you guys to get hurt like I did..."
Hilda frowned and scooted closer to Silver, "Silver...I wasn't going to send anyone on that mission!"
"That's a lie!" Silver exclaimed, looking up, "You and N were gonna go! Gladion told me!"
Hilda and N exchanged glances. Lyra looked up at N, "What? I thought this stuff was 'squad only'?"
N rubbed the back of his neck nervously. Before he could even open his mouth the speak, Hilda spoke, "N is the only person I know who could've handled this," she said gently, placing her hand on Silver's knee, "A rogue Pokémon is N's department!"
"You were gonna go," Silver said, tears starting to form in his eyes, "You were gonna go and you could've gotten hurt! I'd rather it be me than you!"
"And I'd rather it be me than you!"
Silver choked back a sob.
Hilda brought her hand to his cheek. Silver leaned into her hand and closed his eyes.
"Oh Silver," Hilda sighed, "I know your heart is in the right place, but we could've lost you!"
"I'm sorry..." Silver mumbled.
Hilda took Silver's hands, "I love you, okay? I'm just lookin' out."
Silver smiled faintly and nodded, "I know. I love you, too."
Silver noticed N's sour face and Hilda noticed Lyra's scrunched up nose.
"Relax." Silver and Hilda harmonized.
Hilda pushed Silver back into the bed, "Get some rest. I'm gonna tell Lyra how to change your bandages."
Silver nodded, grimacing as he laid down. He closed his eyes the second his head hit the pillow. Hilda got off the bed and gestured for Lyra to follow. Hilda, Lyra, and N all left the room, and Hilda began telling Lyra how to change Silver's bandages.
Lyra nodded, but one thought plagued her mind. She interrupted Hilda mid-sentence, "Why did you have me be so affectionate with him?"
Hilda frowned, "He loves affection when he's hurt. It makes him feel better."
Lyra's crossed her arms, "And how'd you know that?"
Hilda scoffed, "How did you not?"
Lyra raised her eyebrows.
Hilda rolled her eyes, "Gladion figured it out. He and Silver were hanging out and Silver got a paper cut. Guess he was demanding a hug from Gladion the whole time."
"And I'm supposed to believe that?"
Hilda frowned and threw open the bedroom door, "Hey Silver!" She exclaimed.
Silver flinched, "What?"
"Remember when you got a paper cut and you wanted a hug from Gladion?"
Silver sniffled, "Yeah and he wouldn't give me one! Don't remind me!"
Hilda closed the door gently and turned back to Lyra, "Smother him with affection and he'll be fine."
Hilda looked up at her husband and took his hand, "Let's go clean up Silver's mess."
