Chapter 2
The loud sound of multiple texts awoke Eren the next morning. He groaned and got out of bed, slowly making his way to his phone. He saw he had a text from his best friend, Armin. Opening the message it took a minute for the sleep haze to dissipate so he could properly read it.
Armin: Good Morning! Get your ass over here!
Eren groaned again. It was eight in the damn morning! Way too early for this night owl.
Eren: I'll be right over asshole
Armin: Lovely!!
He threw the phone on his bed and got dressed quickly. He brushed his teeth and attempted to fix his hair. Ah, fuck it, I'm just going to Armin's anyway. Another chim of a text came in.
Armin: Bring your laptop. I wanna hear your new mix!
Tucking the phone into his pocket he slipped his laptop in its bag and went downstairs. His dad wasn't home today, he left for a business trip last night. Perks and downfalls of being Grisha Jaeger's son. Putting the lanyard with his keys on he left and locked the door. Slinging the bag over his shoulder he darted to Armin's, the lanyard beating at his chest. It wasn't hot at all out, a great relief.
He came to a steady halt when he saw the white house that was slightly smaller than his. Walking up he unlocked the door with his copy of the key and shut the door. Cold air rushed to his face and he smiled. He loved it being cold.
"Eren! I'm up here!" A voice, Armin's voice, rang out. Eren ran up the stairs and entered the first door on the right. "You made it! And you brought the goods!" He smiled and pulled Eren in. (A/N: when there are italics in quotes that's Eren signing. Like ASL) "Yup, and don't say 'the goods'. It implies I'm either a prostitute or drug dealer." Armin smiled and grabbed his headphones. "I wanna hear!" He whined.
Eren took out the laptop and set it on Armin's desk and threw the bag aside. He unlocked it and went into the music program he used. He loved making music on here. He clicked on his newest song he made and faced Armin. "This is a mix with my violin in it. It is pretty upbeat. I will just play it out loud." He clicked play.
It started out as simple violin but it turning in to electric beats along with the classic. This was among his many talents, recording and making music. He's been doing it since he was ten years old, after his mom died. The psychologist supported these kind of hobbies. When Eren stopped talking he started making music his voice. And Armin loved hearing it. What he didn't know was that Eren wrote actual song lyrics and such but they were in a notebook at home, left to never be sung.
When the song was over Armin clapped his hands. "That was amazing! Send that one too me later!" A broad smile crept across Eren's face. He loved it when he was praised by his friends. Usually Mikasa would also be here to hear it but she was on vacation in Europe all summer. Lucky girl.
"You got it man." He took his phone out and set it on the desk, putting his computer away. As he was putting it in the bag Armin grabbed his phone and decided to snoop. "Eren, who's 'Levi Rivaille'?" Armin asked, a glint in his eyes.
Eren snatched the phone away, annoyed. "First, don't go through my phone it is rude. Second, he is just a guy I met at the park last night. No big deal." Armin practically squealed. "A guy! Was he cute?" Eren flushed and gave him a you-aren't-serious look. "I am very serious!"
"He was not bad looking, but it does not matter." Armin rolled his eyes. "Doesn't not matter my ass. He's a guy and you got his number! Tell me all that you know. Now." He demanded. Armin is just like a teenage girl.
"He has black hair, grey eyes, short height. A junior and is going to our school this year. New in town and from California. Has a stepdad. Kinda stern and emotionless. That is about all I can tell you." Eren smiled slightly as he signed this out for Armin.
Armin clutched his heart dramatically. "He sounds wonderful! Have you texted him yet?" Eren shook his head, earning a frown from Armin. "You have to text him! He obviously wants to talk to you more because you have his number." Eren shrugged and looked away. Armin grabbed Eren's phone and hovered his finger over Levi's contact. "You either text him at some point today or I text him for you. Your choice." He said deviously.
Eren's eyes widened and he snatched the phone from him. "You can not make me." "Yes I can! I just committed his number to memory. If you don't do it, I will!" He eyed him warily. "No you did not." Armin cleared his throat and rattles off the digits to the number. "Yes I did." He said proudly. Eren sighed in defeat and nodded his head.
"Great! Now on a serious note. Why were you at the park?" Eren shook his head. "I just wanted fresh air. That is all." Armin eyed him suspiciously but nodded anyway. "Alright. I'll believe it. But if you're having the attacks again tell me." Eren nodded but didn't respond anymore. He hated getting attacks like the one he got last night. They sucked royal ass. "I gotta go." He gathered all his things and slung the bag over his shoulder. He wanted to go to the coffee house he loved. "Talk to you later." Before Armin could protest he bolted out the house and started running down the street.
To the coffee house!
