"So how have things been?" Levi asked as they walked around the campus. In hindsight it was way too fucking hot out to even consider being outside but he also knew this was the only way he was going to see Eren in private. Considering Levi hasn't seen him in a week. "Have you decided to talk now?"

Eren smiled and took out his phone. Damn did he miss Levi. But that kiss... they had a lot to talk about.

Nope. I'll talk when I see fit. Maybe sometime soon though... Do you remember the kiss we had on my bed?

Of course Levi remembered the kiss. He hasn't stopped thinking about that chaste kiss. It was innocent enough but it was still important to him. For a brief moment he had forgotten all about Erwin. Erwin. Yeah, he was a definite problem that stood in the way to a road to another boyfriend. While they had broken up for the good of their relationship, Levi still felt a lost sense of connection to the tall blonde. But at the same time that kiss...

"Yeah, I remember it. Why?"

Well... Why did you kiss me?

Why indeed. He kissed him because for the last three months he was wondering what it felt like to kiss him. For the last three months he had loved that smile and "sparkle" Eren had. For the last three months he... loved him? What.

"Because I wanted to. I figured you needed a little love and compassion." That's a good answer. Right?

Eren's face fell slightly. So it was just a pity kiss.

Thanks. I needed it.

"Are you still with Joey?" Levi asked as they sat down on a bench by the cafeteria. Remember how he called this place Satan's playground? It fits also because it's probably the approximate temperature of Hell. It is truly amazing at how this morning it was a tolerable heat and now it feels like a face could melt.

No. I thought over it. After all that you did for me dating him seems like a waste.

"Alright. How's Mikasa been? I hope she still isn't going batshit crazy over that kiss."

She's doing great. She isn't mad at you anymore. She's just really protective. I mean, I can't blame her for it. I don't hate her for it. Mikasa is a great sister and I'd never ask for anything else.

"She does seem like a great sister." Levi leaned back. "So what do you plan on doing after leaving here?"

Eren shrugged. He wasn't actually sure about what he wanted to do with his life yet. He didn't have the superb grades of Armin or participated in extracurricular like it was a religion like Mikasa. He wasn't an idiot. Eren was an incredibly smart person but he just couldn't seem to push energy into his school work. It was hard for him. It wasn't like he wasn't talented or lazy. For pete sakes he's done music for years. He just didn't do well around people. The idea of having to get up on stage and perform was enough to make his stomach turn. And don't get him started on auditioning. Of course he danced and played in front of all those people at the park but that was different somehow. Maybe it was because Levi was filming so it could take attention off him or that he was on level ground with the people watching him. Eren wished he could do everything that way. He could raise his hand and answer a question without being so nervous. He could read his report out loud in front of the class without being embarrassed. That joining school band or anything could just be a piece of cake. But there would always be judgement from others. People just waiting for him to make a mistake.

But why should Eren even care?

I don't know yet. Maybe I'll attempt to go to college for music somewhere. You?

"I know for a fact I'm gonna move back to California. That's my home. Don't know from then on though. I can't think about the future for too long. All my friends already have plans. Hanji is going to New York, Petra is in Sweden right now but she says she wants to go to London, and Erwin says he's going to some technical college in L.A. All my friends have their life practically planned out."

The only word that Eren really caught was "Erwin". What was their relationship like?

How was you relationship with Erwin?

Levi was slightly surprised at the question but just shrugged. "Honestly, I loved every moment of it. He knew how to treat me right. Even though he's older than me he never treated me as such. I was an equal to him, except he loved to make fun of my height." He looked up at the sky. "We were as close to perfect as you could get. I hope you find that one day."

This made Eren slightly angry inside. He just wanted to scream and hit Levi for being so fucking clueless. Like, hell-fucking-o! Their relationship did sound nice though.

"Alright. I gotta go to class. No first day bad impressions for me. See ya brat." Levi jumped up and ruffled Eren's hair before walking off.

"What even is this life?" Eren mumbled under his breath as he watched Levi walk off.
