After school finished Quinn headed with her new friends to the small river in the town. there was about ten of them who went including Serena, Lottie, Hollie and Taylor. the river was a small area with a river and a forest next to it. By the river was some large rocks and some of them we sat on them. others were either in the water or sat on the grass.

Quinn was on the rocks sat between Lottie and Serena. Serena looked over at Quinn.

"Let's go and join them. Quinn? You up for it?" Serena asked her.

taylor and Hollie were already in and so were one or two of the boys. they were all in there school uniform soaked.

"of course I am." Quinn replied.

Serena smiled and started to take her shoes off and long socks. Quinn did the same as did Lottie who was taking her tights off. they unbuttoned the top two buttons of their blouses so they could breath and took their Blazers off that is if they had them on. then the three of them ran in to the water.

One of the boys Quinn recognised. Yeah she recognised the others, but she recognised him that much more. it was his hazel eyes. He looked at her with a sexy look and Quinn smiled back at him. she had tied the bottom of her shirt into a knot that was just above the waist of her skirt. You couldn't see much skin and couldn't see her belly button either.

"hey." he said to her. " Quinn right?"

Quinn nodded.

"Ugh." he smiled.

"Ethan." she recognised his perfect smile and his shimmering eyes. she smiled. "yes you were the one that helped me." he nodded.

All of a sudden she got splashed from behind. it was Serena. She had been so focused on the boy with hazel eyes she hadn't even acknowledged that they were splashing each other behind them.

Ethan burst out laughing at the soaked girl stood in front of him. Quinn did a devilish smile. that was when she splashed and soaked him completely. Ethan smirked at this intriguing girl infront of him. In that second he splashed her so much that she fell back into the water.

As she stood up she was laughing and told him "oh you're gonna get it now!" Quinn went towards him.

he slowly ran through the water and she chased after him. He splashed him and as did he did her. At the end both of them where almost crying with laughter and drenched.

The sun was starting to go down and it was getting late, although they didn't care. they had already lit a bonfire with some sat down by it and others swimming. Quinn was one of those people still swimming. her hair dripping went and the depth was up to her shoulders. serena and Lottie and come over and joined her and Ethan. As did one of Ethan's friends Jason.

"My sister says she knows you're brother." Serena told Quinn.

"which one?" Quinn asked.

Serena thought for a second.

"fraser."

"So Quinn how come you just moved here? Why didn't you live with you're dad before? And Go to the same school as you're brothers?" Jason asked her.

"I lived with my mum, but she died recently so my dad took me in." jason raised his eye brows and glanced at Ethan.

Serena and Lottie looked at each other. Ethan on the other hand looked at Quinn with sorrow.

"anyway! This was great! We should do this Friday? What do you guys say!" Serena broke the ice and became the planner she always is.

they nodded and responded "hell yeah!"

Gradually one by one they got out of the water and went and sat by the bonfire. quinn sat next to Taylor and Ethan sat next to her. she smiled at him and all of them started chatting and laughing. eventually one by one people started to leave.

Lottie looked over at quinn. Quinn nodded understanding. "well we had best be going." Quinn announced as her and Lottie stood up.

"see ya later." they said together and the others said goodbye as the two girls disappeared into the woods.

The twigs snapped as they walked through. "it's so dark! Do you know the way back? Because I definitely don't.". Quinn said.

Lottie looked unsure, but then could see lights up ahead. "Yes I do know. the woods go right through and around this town they even come to our road. you see those small street lights up ahead?" Lottie pointed towards them and Quinn nodded.

"they are those small black and silver posts entering to the road. there the lights or as my dad says the lights that kind you back home." she laughed. Quinn smiled.

eventually they came back out of the woods and ended up on Weverly way. The two girls hugged as they came to Lottie's house. "Thanks for inviting me." Quinn told her. Lottie smiled. "no worries. you're one of us now." Quinn smiled. at least she felt like she belonged with some people. Lottie headed inside and Quinn watched her as she went inside, then Quinn headed back home.

The front door of the Clark's home opened and fraser and David came through from the lounge.

"Quinn!" David said wrapping his arms around her. Quinn didn't hug back. "why you wet?" He asked her.

Quinn looked at them funny.

"why are you being so strange? Since when do we hug? Remember we hate each other?" She snapped.

"dad! Quinn's back!" Noah shouted as he came running down the stairs.

What on earth was going on? Why were they being so strange. David hated her only this morning? Noah has been alright, but comes running down the stairs to greet her? She couldn't get her head around it. Quinn walked into the living room and her brothers followed her.

"Young lady sit down!" Their father snapped walking into join them. Quinn sat on the Middle sofa. she was really confused.

"what's going on?"

Fraser, David and noah found there's seat on a different sofa, trying to stay out the way a bit.

"I'll tell you what's going on! What time is it?" He checked his watch. "half past eight. you disappear early this morning. I get a call from the school about you being late and you don't turn up later at home? No note? You didn't call or text anyone!" He literally shouted.

Quinn's eyes widened. "I'm sorry I just didn't think anyone would care. mum never cared and I didn't think it would cause a problem."

George shook his head in frustration. "you're mother didn't care if you were back or not because she was ill! Too her when you came back it seemed you had just left! And why are you so wet?!"

George saying that made a tear slip out of her eye. "I'm sorry, dad. I just didn't think anything of it."

George sighed. "enough excuses! You're grounded until further notice!" George let out a deep breath and rubbed the back of his neck. "go and get a shower and get cleaned up. I'll get you some dinner."

Quinn nodded as she left the room. she wiped the tear away that was falling down her cheek and went to her room. she tied her hair up in a side bun. After she did that she took her wet clothes off and put on her white dressing gown. then she headed to get a shower.

Downstairs George was stood in front the centre of the lounge still rubbing his neck.

"dad... was mum really that sick?" Noah questioned.

George nodded.

"social services got involved after the hospital realised Quinn had no where to go when her mother was in hospital. That's when she stayed with one of her...i mean one of you're mothers friends. only after she died did they call me......i wish they could of called me sooner." he said with a huff.
"she's barely started grieving. perhaps I'm being to harsh!" He muttered to him self.

"I don't think you're being harsh you're just being fair." fraser said not thinking about Quinn - more just how to hurt her.

David shook his head. "no... she needs time and space. not to be locked up in a house that's she's not used to." David spoke the voice of wisdom.

"you're both right. I'll just ground her for tomorrow and the next day, then she will have learnt her lesson and it won't be too much. since when did my boys get so smart!" George said not noticing the spite behind Frasers comment.

"can one of you heat the curry up I left in the fridge for her. I just need to make a quick phone call." George asked them and left the room.

All three of them looked at each other. "Fraser should do it." David said picking on the youngest.

"Why me?" Fraser questioned.

"because you were born last." David continued.

fraser gave him a funny look. "no I wasn't! Quinn was. you're the oldest, you do it!" He argued.

noah smirked. "yeah you better not do it or you would probably poison her."

"Ha. ha....ha? That's not a bad idea. sure brothers! I would gladly do it." David stood up.

"fraser stop being such an idiot. I'll do it if it stops this conversation." David went through to the kitchen and granted his fathers wishes.

Fraser watched David walk through to the kitchen, when noah caught his eye. Noah had a disgusted look on his face, that was directed at fraser. "what?"

"When are you gonna get over it?" Noah asked.

Fraser raised his eye brows. "Get over what?"

Noah shook his head disapproving. "you know exactly what. Stop being such a dick to Quinn." Noah said.

Fraser shrugged. "Why should I?"

"I don't know.... maybe because she's you're sister! It's getting old just get over it already."

Mid point in that conversation quinn came down the stairs and heard almost all of it. she was stood in the door way. her hair and been wrapped in a towel, it was almost dry, with a few wet patches. she was wearing a navy pyjama top and grey pyjama bottoms. she smiled at what Noah was saying. he was finally accepting. Fraser how ever, she was mentally telling him to 'shut up'.

Noah let out a deep breath at his ass whole brother. "why have you suddenly decided to like her? Our mother - Her mother - Chose her over us! And she thinks she can just walk back in here." Fraser snapped.

"Fraser, that was nothing to do with her. mum took her away and she didn't get a say. dad brought her back here and she never had a choice. someone always decided for her." Noah said.

Fraser shook his head. He looked down to the ground. his eyes softened. "still doesn't have to be so difficult." Fraser said.

"Why do you have to be so difficult?" Noah questioned using Frasers words.

That was when they noticed a figure standing in the doorway. they finally noticed Quinn. Fraser looked guilty. His eyes told the whole story. noah gave her a sympathetic. Quinn walked over to the sofa they were sat on and sat between the two of them, but closer. To Noah. she turned and gave him a sweet smile. Fraser just went back to watching tv.

"thanks."she said quietly. he smiled back.

"I didn't do anything. I just did something that I should of done anyway." Noah said.

Quinn felt relieved. she may have been in trouble with her dad, but that really made her day.

"Quinn!" David shouted from the kitchen. Quinn got up and followed his voice.

"Yes?" She answered coming into through the door. she was now in a delightful mood.

"dinners ready." he said tapping the table besides her plate and sat down next to it.

Quinn walked over and sat besides him smiling. whilst David was opening his book he said "why are you so happy?"

"I don't know. just am. I'm happy for the moment and I'll make the most of it whilst it lasts." Quinn said.

Although, she was still thinking about how Fraser doesn't like her, her father is so mad, whether David was accepting her, her mothers death, the change in her life, her new friends, how noah had been so kind and Ethan...
