Chapter One
Quinn walked out of the airport wheeling her suitcase along. she had long brown hair and hazel eyes. she had her bag in hand and sunglasses on. she looked out for a taxi and got in one.
The taxi driver put her suitcase in the boot and it drove off to the destination she had requested. Quinn was tapping her hand on her knees. she was so nervous. terrified even. her hair was down and she was wearing a simple white t-shirt and dark denim jeans.
Finally the taxi came to a stop, but the journey was a bit too quick for Quinn. she was more likely tell the driver to take her back to the airport. although the man got out to get her suitcase out and she knew that she had nowhere else to go. so Quinn stepped out of the black car and took her suitcase from the taxi driver. then she paid him and he drove off. now she was left all alone. she could go down the road and come back later or..... too late the front door opened and a man with three older boys stepped out. she sighed and went to the front of the house.
"Quinn?" The man asked uncertain. she nodded slightly. she couldn't find the words to speak. The man had light brown hair, but it was more grey than his original colour. he had the same colour eyes a Quinn. Quinn knew this man was her father and that the boys standing besides him were her older brothers. "it's so good to see you!" He said wrapping his arms around her. she smiled as they came apart. "these are you're brothers david, noah and fraser." She hugged each one of them, but it was like they were giving her the cold shoulder. "David. why don't you help Quinn bring her things in." he nodded and picked up quinns suitcase and they all went inside.
Quinn was really nervous. she was breathing fast and was kind of shy. She could definitely tell that her new so called brothers weren't that happy with her being here, but it's not her fault. it's not like she ever asked for her mother to die of cancer. What kind of person would ask that? To be honest Quinn still hadn't gotten over the shock of loosing her mother.
They entered the large ancient house and Quinn stood in the hallway. David put her suitcase down in the hallway and made a loud thump putting it down. "shall we go and sit down in the living room?" Quinn did as her told and went through to the lounge and sat on one of the sofas.
Noah sat besides her, but he gave her a dirty look. David and Fraser sat on the other one, but none of them gave her warm cozy smiles that welcomed her to their so called lovely home. their father though sat on a leather arm chair and gave her a warm smile. she smiled sweetly back, but it was like she was expecting one of her brothers to snap.
"How was you're journey?" George, her father asked her.
"uh....I guess it was alright. the plane didn't crash or anything." he did a silent, but an awkward laugh.
The boys just watched. They just gave her blank looks.
. "uh what school do you guys go to?" Quinn asked addressing her brothers. they looked at each other, but didn't exactly answer.
"Milton school." George finally said. "That's where you will be attending on Monday. I already registered you. all you need to do is turn up and answer you're name in the register."
Quinn gave a small smile.
It was already Saturday and the sun was even starting to go down. Quinn was thinking about school now. She knew that she would have to start all over again at school at the bottom of the food chain. She will either be eaten alive by bitches or become one. Or she could also practically not exist. That way then there would be no trouble you would just be forgotten about.
The family continued to talk. However, the conversation was mainly just between her and George because the boys just sat there.
However, all Quinn really wanted to do was run out the front door. She was eyeing it. Quick was looking from the lounge through to the hallway and at the front door.
The conversation did provide her with some context. Quinn found out that her father was a well payed lawyer one of the best in the town. This contrasted with her mother, who was a professor in university.
Eventually she went upstairs and started to unpack in her rather large bedroom. It was big with old antique furniture. There was a dark wooded desk and a wooden door. it had wooden floors and a window seat with cushions placed neatly.
When she was eventually done unpacking she laid on her bed looking at the ceiling. she let one tear slip from her eyes thinking that this was her knew life. This was how it was meant to be before Quinn and mother walked away from it.
She stopped crying when she heard her name being called from downstairs. Quinn quickly wiped her eyes when someone burst into her bedroom.
Quinn sat up, startled. "ever heard of knocking?" She said to the person that Intruded into her room. It was Fraser.
Fraser rolled his eyes. "it's my house why should I knock?"
Quinn was offended by that, but she didn't say anything apart from a smart remark "so now you decide to talk."
Fraser rolled his eyes and continued to say "whatever, dinners ready - come down if you want. I don't care. Dad asked me to get you!" he snapped.
Quinn was irritated now. Fraser walked out of the room and Quinn let out a huge sigh. Then she got up and went downstairs. After all, it had been a long day and she had worked up an appetite.
Quinn came and sat next to Fraser because unfortunately for her that was the only space left.
"why do you have to sit next to me?! It's not like I want you here!"
Quinn knew that he didn't just mean the seat. she let out a deep breath, but ignored him. Then she smiled at noah opposite her, but he just looked at her.
"Here it is. I know it's nothing special, but it's quick." Their father said coming in with two plates filled with pizza and put them in the middle of the table.
"help you're self."
Later on in the meal their father made conversation but nothing too deep. "tomorrow I will be up early because I have a client that I need to attend to. I want you three boys to stay in and keep Quinn company."
The boys all had a 'are you serious?' Look on their faces. And not in a good way.
"No butts or I will ground you until you go to college. It will give you time to get to know each other better."
The boys let out sighs and Quinn just sat there.
"Well that's sorted then. I'm sorry Quinn I would have of loved to spend the day before you go to school, but I have to work." George explained.
"Don't worry I'm fine, but I'm kind of tired after all that traveling do you mind if I go to bed now?" She questioned even though she wasn't tired she just wanted to get away from them.
"oh, of course, honey. Goodnight." and she got up and left.
When Quinn came to her room she got ready for bed and left her door half open and climbed into bed. Although she wasn't tired. Quinn lay there for ages. she could here her father go to bed so it got later. then she heard voices outside her bedroom. It was noah and Fraser. They were in one of the rooms near hers.
"I can't believe this! She takes over our weekend and we also have to live with the brat." Nosh exclaimed.
The boys were standing right outside her half open door and Quinn heard every word.
"it's stupid. why should we have to put up with her. mum walked away with her and left. she chose her over us. that bitch and now we have to take in that bitch that's sleeping in their now!" Fraser told his brother.
Noah was shaking his head. "We even have to go to the same school as her. she may be our sister by blood, but she never will be our real sister."
That was when Fraser noticed that the door was slightly open. The brother's exchanged a look.
"she's not hearing everything were saying is she?" Noah asked.
Quinn quickly closed her eyes and acted as if she was asleep. Both of them looked through the door and then looked at each other.
"Just to make sure." Fraser went over to her and looked down on his sleeping sister. He waved his hand infront of her face and she turned over pretending she was just moving in her sleep.
"Fraser!" Noah whispered.
Fraser rolled his eyes and picked up a picture on her bedside table. It was a picture of their mother and Quinn. He gritted his teeth then put his hand into the shape of a fist.
"Look at this. Quinn thinks she can just come back here and we will welcome her with open arms! Well we won't!" He dropped the frame and stood on it breaking the glass. Then Fraser picked up the photo inside that was now hanging out and then Fraser tore it apart , dropping the pieces on the floor.
"Fraser! Come on let's go! Dad will kill us!" Noah urged.
Quinn let a tear slip out of her eye knowing what they had done and she sniffed.
"shit!! Is she waking up." Noah said. Fraser looked back at her, but didn't see the tear.
Fraser shook his head. "na! Let's get out of here." he said.
When they had left Quinn sat up in bed and leaned over to look at the floor. she saw the broken frame and was instantly made angry. she knew if she made a fuss now they will know she was ears dropping. she decided to wait until the morning and she cried her self to sleep.
