Charon is a rare dragon species called the Scavenger Gloom. They look more like a vulture and hyena hybrid than a dragon. Many of these dragons are said to be evil, their groups even sound evil. But besides this these dragons can have positive traits too. Death usually is a sensitive subject to this species of dragons even though their diet consists mainly of carcasses. Females come in paler colors. Their groups are called cults although they are not bad. The Scavenger Gloom are mainly solitary but they do well in groups. If times are hard Scavenger Gloom will resort to cannibalism or even "self cannibalism". They start by devouring their tails. During these hard times the develope a trait similar to camels, they store fat from food in their stomachs.

Charon is mysterious and keeps to himself a lot and he has trouble with speech. He doesn't speak often but when he does he stutters and murmurs. He is socially awkward and although he doesn't express his enthusiasm for them, he loves hugs. When he sleeps he makes a low cooing noise almost like a baby or a pigeon. He rarely uses his forepaws in a hug, he uses his wings.

Although barely noticeable he has a slight limp when he walks. He is pessimistic meaning he is very negative and when challenges arises he gives up.

Scavenger Glooms groups are made up similar to a wolf pack. He happened to be an omega of the cult. Scavenger Glooms are so rare there is only one cult called The Drifting Moon.

They became endangered after moving from the deepest of canyons to escape a breakout of mange and to the African savanna. After their arrival rumors quickly spread, they were giving the name Scavenger Glooms and in groups they were called "cults" causing more and more fear. Every time one was sought they were killed, if the person was unable to kill it they paid high money for it to be killed. The last cult was formed and they lived up to the rumors by acting malevolent. They moved back to the canyons. If a litter of cubs are born, the cult joins together to raise it. Omegas are treated equal at that time because more paws are needed to raise the young ones.

The species is very strange, its thought to be more mammal than anything else. First the young are in eggs and spend most of time eating their eggshells then when they are born. They are blind and deaf and can only crawl and thrive on their mother's milk.

People debate if the skulls are real or just masks. Females that have the skulls have colorful and bright feathers around it. The feathers get paler by age and health.

If there is danger, one of the Scavenger Gloom will let out a shriek to fright the danger or threat. If the danger doesn't retreat, they shriek again but in a different tone. Its used as a call to the rest of the cult where the cult deals with danger together.
