I'm very disappointed. I was going on my Wattpad feed when someone posted on her story a link to a story about how two policemen treated an autistic boy horribly because they thought he was high. And may I say, when I saw the story, that broke my heart.

I'm not autistic but my cousin, MW, does. I remember one specific night I cried over him because I was so scared of how the kids would treat at school because he was different. I was scared they might hurt him because they don't understand what's inside his head. I was worried he wouldn't make any friends because he struggles to communicate. And I know myself can't even understand him. I don't know what the heck is going on his mind, but I'll stand up from him anyways.

And to think that boy could be him? Gods, that would be unimaginable. I do realize that most people won't see this, so I'm asking the people who do see it, please spread this message. I will get down to the details later, but I want to say this:

These police officers are actual adults. Actual adults. And sadly, they're bad apples. I will talk more about this after I show you the details if what happened. Here we go...

This situation could be handled differently. The police officers did not need to do that to the poor boy. And I understand that some people do not understand mental diseases like this, but as a police officer, it's your job to deal each and single situation with the appropriate attitude. The boy did not need to be tasered and chocked! He said his mom was in the backyard, and what do the police do? Choke him! I understand I'm just a little kid, but the boy just asked to come get his mom! Is there something wrong with that?

And it does not make the situation any better to hear that the police thought the boy was high! So ok, his behavior was slightly off, and they police were untrained. But I feel like if the police were untrained, they shouldn't have weapons! And just because someone's behavior is slightly off, that makes them high? A police officer's job is to protect others and make them feel safe. Police officers do not hurt someone because they do not understand the person's behavior, nor make the person feel threatened!

No one should make the other person feeling like they're in danger, uncomfortable, or they should physically or mentally hurt them. It does not matter how you are, it does not matter what authority you hold. It makes no excuse to treat someone different than you like crap.

Final answer.
