All I remember was waking up to the heart monitor going off. The difference was there were two heart beats. I sat up in bed and looked around. I saw James asleep in s chair and a ton of machines. "James." I didn't want to wake everyone up and needed to ask him what happened.

"Hmmmm? Scarlett are you awake?" Ok I may be trying to run away but hearing his voice made me so happy. "Yes. What happened?" I just had to know. I noticed he hesitated a little, and that made me nervous. "Scarlett, I am so so sorry. The guy who attacked you injected you with some kind of serum. It messed with your body." Again he hesitated. It didn't help the fact that I was injected with something. "Scarlett I don't know how, no one does really..." Ok I have had enough! "Spit it out will you?" I wish I never said that. "Scarlett, your pregnant." What? How, when, why? All these questions filled my head. Out of instinct I wrapped my arms around myself. What have I gotten myself into? I won't be able to finish high school, I just feel lucky enough to have enough credit to not need to.

"Scarlett? Are you ok?" I had to ask I needed to know. "Who's is it?" I whispered it as if my voice left me. "While you were asleep the doctor did some tests. This person somehow got my DNA. Scarlett it's mine." After that it felt like everything froze. This person knew I did not want to be marked or have a mate. I had to protect this child with my life. No matter what.

I started crying. James came over and held me in his arms as I cried. I don't know how long we stayed like this but it was nice. I was so tired I fell asleep thinking of my baby. Mine and James.
