So here are some facts about me as an author. Some may not be very correct but I'll do my best :D I was tagged to do this by Ithildaeforever.

Question 1: When did you start writing? [minus school, work, ect.]

Well I know I was pretty young, maybe 8 or 9. I just sat down one day and decided to write a story as a surprise for my mom. Out came a huge, new dream.

Question 2: What is the first book you read or wrote that made you cry?

Umm well this certainly is a hard one lol. Probably the first book I cried at was Charlotte's Web. As for the first one I wrote that made me cry, I'm not sure.

Question 3: Does writing energize or exhaust you?

Most times it energizes me, even if I end up with writer's block. Because then I can't stop thinking of ways to continue the story successfully.

Question 4: What is your writing Kryptonite?

Exhaustion. When I'm tired, I get distracted and do not write well at all. This also leads me towards my second biggest Kryptonite: video games.

Question 5: Do you try to be more original or deliver reader's what they want?

I try to be myself when I write. I actually fight trying to write what other's want me to write or what I think they want me to so I can write what's in my heart. To tell the truth I only have fun writing when I'm letting my heart and mind lead, not my people-pleasingness or insecurity.

Question 6: What other authors are you friends with and how do they help you become a better writer?

Well I'm friends with a lot of writers on Wattpad. One of my closest is Oliver8. He helps me to feel good about my writing abilities as well as kindly giving me advice to help me become even better. But he respects me as an author, knowing that sometimes you don't want to change your story because another person thinks it could be better a different way.

My mom isn't technically an author and neither is my dad but they both support me and give me advice when I need it. I couldn't ever write an entire story without them.

Also there is CaptainSarcastic101 who I feel very guilty about not mentioning before. She inspires me a great deal. Her book is full of complex characters that are many times who I try to make my characters become more like. She writes action sequences as no one else can despite how hard they are and shows the character's turmoil and emotions. She's also always there with advice when I need it and I can count on her to be honest with her opinion which always means a whole lot to me.
Question 7: If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?

Probably to try to be more original. Try not to follow other's work so closely even if it's unconsciously. Expand your horizons and don't be afraid to have some wacky story nobody's come up with.

Question 8: What is the best money you've ever spent as a writer?

I really have no idea lol.

Question 9: What's your favorite underappreciated novel?

Well I'm not sure but probably A Murder for Her Majesty by Beth Hilgartner. I don't know if it's underappreciated though.

Question 10: How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?

Well none of my books are published yet and as for half finished books, maybe 4?

Question 11: What kind of research do you do and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?

This is really embarrassing and causes some of my stories to suffer, but I do almost no research at all before writing a book. I do the bare minimum about the things I really need to know but other than that, I just look up the bare minimum of the things I need to know, then write. Why do you think Captive is in my own world with my own rules? ;)

Question 12: What's the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?

Probably just imagining what it would be like to be the other sex. I mean, I'm kind of a tomboy as it is so it's a little easier but girls and boys have drastic differences that I need to portray and at the same time show the character's own unique way of dealing with things.

Question 13: How do you select the names of your characters?

Ooo name selecting is always my favorite part! I take what plot I'm going for and the character's personality and look up some unique names on the internet. Then, I look at the meanings of those names and whichever I believe fits the plot or the character(or both) is the one I pick. I also have to like the sound of the name though.

Question 14: Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people find?

Sometimes. I really like the use of symbolism so I try to use that. Sometimes someone mentions it, sometimes they don't seem to realize the significance. The funny thing is sometimes they point out symbolism I didn't even know I'd used!

Question 15: What is your hardest scene to write? [from any books or stories you've written]

The torture scenes are always hard for me. The one in Captive where Adira is first beaten was really difficult as I wanted to make it long and descriptive enough for you to feel the character's pain and know this wasn't a playday but not to make it gory or overly dramatic as well.

Question 16: What is the most difficult part of your artistic process?

Continuing to write the story to the best of my ability all the way through. Not to slack off because of writer's block or tiredness.

Question 17: How long on average does it take you to write a book?

About 3 months to finish it. That's not counting the many long months of editing :/

Question 18: Do you believe in writer's block?

Oh yes I do. And I have it almost all the time. Very annoying.

Question 19: Which one of your characters do you feel closest to? [out of the any you've created]

Well since Captive is the first story that I'm actually really proud of and I feel I made believable enough, Adira is the character I feel closest to. I'm also writing this story through many hard times and changes, good and bad, and she embodies some of my turbulent emotions during it.

Question 20: And finally, what is one piece of advice you would give to other aspiring writers?

Follow your heart. If your heart tells you to write a romance story, write it, an action story, same thing. If you follow what you love, no matter what others say, you will enjoy the writing experience and make a better book than if you'd stayed in society's rules. Remember, this isn't English class, it's a dream, a hobby, a passtime. Whatever it is to you, have fun with it.
