“Yes! I did it! I aced the finals!”

“Yeah,” said my friend looking distracted. “I'm happy for you.”

“Maybe I was wrong.” I grinned. “The world isn't against me after all.”

“I guess,” my friend replied, eyes darting around with a wary expression.

“Are you ok?” I asked him as we walked back from school.

Suddenly, a mud puddle appreared out of nowhere. My friend tripped and fell head first into the slimy goo.

His face was still buried in the mud when he said with a muffled voice, “I think the world changed its target."
