First Person POV
Huh? Where am I? It's super dark! I can't even see what's infront of me. And what's this mysterious material underneath my back? It's uncomfortable... I demand it to be thrown away!
*flash*
Ugh! Where did this blinding light come from now?! I'm extremely confused by this whole ordeal. As I was getting used to (or was trying to), I heard a sound. Was it a gasp? No... it was too soft. Hmm? Who has picked me up?
....
Well, would you look at that. A girl!
Third Person POV
The girl hugged the bear. She adored her new present and thought of it as an excellent friend and-dare she say- a time killer for the dull, boring days in the hospital. The girl secretly hoped she could take her friend home after her treatment was done.
Slowly, time passed. Soon came the season of Autumn. Cold, dry winds brought destruction to the bright leaves and flowers of plants and trees.
There stood a particular tree, whose many leaves had withered and wilted. It stood alone, outside the girl's hospital room and was clearly visible due to the window. The dullness all around the girl didnot affect her in any way, for she was happy with her only friend. She played and played and played to her heart's content.
One similar time she had set up a celebration of sorts, bringing a toy tea set for her friend. As she was pouring tea for the bear, she coughed. Due to this, her hand reacted and drops of tea fell on the bear. At first, her best friend was worried. He reached out to her, but when he saw that his coat had been stained with the tea, he gave a shout of surprise. This made the girl laugh at how much of a perfectionist her tiny friend was.
The girl patted his head and decided to clean him up. She washed the bear thoroughly in the washroom's sink, despite her friend's protests. Then she squeezed the dampness and extra water out of the poor bear's body, while the bear kept whining and wailing.
The other day she gave her friend a ride on the wheelchair. She knew when she rode the wheelchair full speed it would always make her laugh, and wanted to share the experience with her friend. Her excitement took over and she did not hear her friend's cries of protest and fear. The girl kept on pushing the wheelchair through the hall, laughing and enjoying more than her friend. Suddenly her friend slipped and got his limbs twisted and turned around the wheel of the wheelchair. The girl gave a surprised, "Oops!" Which made her friend look at her indignantly.
Some days later the winds blew harsher and drier. All the leaves on the tree by the window fell or flew away, but one particular leaf had stayed stuck on one of the branches. It seemed the leaf was determined not to fly away.
The girl was sleeping peacefully with her bear friend. When the girl turned her little friend flew to the edge of the bed, hanging by one arm. The bear felt upset by how the girl treated him. He saw his arm was dangling by a few strings and was soon going to be ripped off. He screamed.
The bear froze after he recovered from the surprise. He thought if he didnot move, his arm would not come off. But this thought was quickly wiped away when his arm ripped off and he fell. He stood up in a daze but then he came to when his arm fell on his head. He picked his ripped off arm and fell to his knees with a thud. And cried. How much pain do I have to take? He wailed and then glared at his friend. He glanced at the lit, slightly ajar door. He was now determined to leave and be freed when-
Cough
His determination wavered.
And then like a broken lightbulb, it vanished.
He threw away his arm and climbed his friend's bed. He crawled in with his friend, pulling the blanket up. He was happy as is, he had someone who loved him. He could not dare make the girl feel sad.
The sun rose, the morning came, and the last leaf on the tree flew away. Now the tree was naked, and so was the girl's hospital room. But there lay something- or rather someone, waiting for the girl who had left him - and this world, all dull and alone...
