Chapter 4: Nothing

^So this video is another Jasmine Thompson song called Mad World, which I love. However, the second verse is kinda random like whoever wrote it was running out of ideas. It's okay though because the chorus is BEAUTIFUL!!

*Rey's POV

"Anything?" Poe asked from behind me, stumbling to keep up with my quick pace. He had let me out of the compartment not five minutes ago upon the planet sandy Ryloth.

My feet froze, at the sound of him talking. I'd completely forgotten he was there.

"Well, I don't see anything. Do you?" I asked, frustrated at Ben's mysterious absence, and waving my arm to gesture to the great red-sand planet that stretched before us.

"No," he mumbled, and we resumed our walk.

Ben! I shouted in my mind, trying to communicate with him in the strange telepathic way we had been able to before. Come home! We miss you! I thought of images and scenarios with his mother, the most wonderful person in the world, his father, the closest thing I used to have a father figure when I had first left Jakku, and us. Me and Ben. Laughing, fighting, talking, me getting upset over Savi, and just sitting in comfortable silence with him. Please.

"Can't you use the force to feel him?" Poe mumbled, wiping sweat off his forehead.

I stopped walking at looked at him. Poe halted as well and looked back to me.

"What?" he asked, spreading his arms slightly.

"You're a genius!" I closed my eyes, welcoming the blackness that the back of my eyelids brought.

"Tell me something I don't know," he commented.

I ignored him, like most people do when he makes those kinds of remarks.

"The force," I mumbled under my breath, "why didn't I think of that before."

───◘◘◘───

"He's not here," I marched toward the X-Wing, ready to move onto the next planet to search.

"Are you sure?" Poe asked, jogging to catch back up to me.

"Yes. I couldn't sense anything."

"Ok," he sighed, "onto the next one."

*Ben's POV

When I opened my eyes, a girl with chocolate colored skin was leaning over me, her long black hair hanging down and ticking my face. I started, unsure about the stranger, and she backed away from me and turned to do something. My eyes wandered the hut, taking her turned to my advantage. The slanted walls were leather, strung against long rods that reached up to rest up against each other, and furs and rugs coated the floor. The girl herself, was short, maybe five feet nine inches, and young, with such long black hair that reached down to her hips. Judging by the grace by which she moved with, and the smoothness of her features, she looked to be about twelve.

The girl turned around, hair swishing around her, a bowl grasped between her hands, and walked back over to me. She smiled at me, lighting up her eyes, and extended the bowl towards me. I cautiously took it, wondering about this girls. The soup in the bowl was lumpy and colorless, a strange odor emanating from it.

"It's not poison, if that's what you're wondering." I jumped, my eyes flying back to the girl who shrugged at my strange expression. "What?"

"I-I-uh, didn't know that you spoke the same language as me," I lamely said, taking notice that my throat was no longer of the consistency of sandpaper.

She snorted and extended her hand. "Okay, then. Well, my name's Nina."

"Ben." I grasped her petite hand in my own in a symbol of friendly greeting.

"Nice to meat you Ben."

"Nice to meat you too, Nina," I withdrew my grasp, and looked back down to the soup.

"Go ahead, try it. I promise it's not as bad as it looks," Nina smiled.

I swallowed, bracing myself for the  taste, and brought the bowl to my mouth. Surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as I'd thought, but still wasn't my favorite. However, I hadn't eaten in days, and this miracle girl had given me something to fill my stomach with.

"Not so bad, see?" she giggled as I handed her the bowl back, which she placed to her side. "Where are you from?"

I was silent, for a moment before answering. "I don't know."

She laughed as If I'd told a hilarious joke.

"Wait, you're serious?" Nina asked, finally coming back to her senses.

"Yes. I don't remember anything." Except for the girl the guy with the wookie and the elderly woman, but I wasn't ready to share those yet.

"Inserting," she commented.

But I was gone, distracted by my thoughts. During my sleep, I had received more memories, including a voice.

Ben, it said, come home. We miss you

The words were followed by scenarios, actual scenarios, of things. Clips of the old woman, the old man and the wookie, and me and the three bunned hair girl laughing. She looked older than the one before, and even more beautiful. Her eyes did still light up the room. The girl and I. We fought, we spoke, we laughed, her getting mad over someone else, and just sitting in a comfortable silence.

Please, the feminine voice concluded, ending the waterfall of images.

Suddenly the dam in my brain broke, and my past was let loose.

----

what do you think? Ben remembers now, so, what is he going to do? He has no lightsaber and a strange droid. What's he gonna do?
