those eyes once stared at him so lovingly and filled with affection, now they were boring holes right through him. those lips once gave him a smile that reassured and comforted him, now he had his teeth gritted as if he had done something wrong to piss him. those hands once held him securely and gently as if he was afraid to break him, now it made a dent on the locker to show his anger.

chenle being frightened at that moment was an understatement. he, himself, was even surprised that he still haven't passed out during that second.

❝i asked you a question.❞ the alpha growled, putting more pressure at the dent he made on the locker.

❝j-ji..❞ chenle had his eyes widened as he clutched on to his blazer, his voice coming out as a whisper. he couldn't make out a word, his mind was too empty to even say his true purpose in being there.

the presence of the pure alpha frightened him shitless.

but even though he felt his whole body shaking in fear, he still felt his heart fluttering after seeing him for so long. he was glad that he looked fine, he didn't look like he was hurt, he didn't look like he was suffering, and chenle was somehow glad with that. he even had the time to care if the alpha's hand was bruised after putting so much force in slamming it on the locker. he wanted to hold his hand and just caress it softly, taking the pain away if ever it did hurt.

chenle then heard a scoff coming from the taller that made him get back from his thoughts, ❝have you lost your voice?❞

the shorter managed to shake his head.

❝then tell me!❞ the alpha had his voice raised, noticing chenle flinch after he had done it. ❝what the fuck are you doing here?❞

his voice echoed down the silent hallways and chenle was relieved that everyone was in the gym, not going to witness this sight. the shorter then had his eyes shut tight as he gathered courage to answer the alpha's question, wanting this to get over with.

❝i'm j-just here to s-study..❞ chenle made a fool of himself to even think that he had moved on. he was even confident enough to say that right in front of his friends' faces.

❝don't give me that bullshit, chenle!❞ the alpha raised another hand and by this time, he was already trapping the short male by the lockers with both his hands placed right beside his head. ❝an omega like you in an alpha school? have you lost it!?❞

leaning closer to chenle, the alpha had his eyes squinted. ❝are you following me?❞

and that was all it took for chenle to finally get back to his senses. with brows furrowed, he didn't know where he got the guts to talk back to the alpha without stuttering. ❝excuse me?❞

him? following this pure alpha? that made chenle mock a laugh. sure, he had a past with him. sure, he might have took his heart and sure, this alpha right here might have grown to a one fine boy, and another sure that chenle mayhaps haven't moved on to a hundred and one percent after seeing him here right, right in front of him, after for two long years, but he wouldn't ever stoop this low and even think of following him.

heck, if his friends didn't mention anything about the possibilities of him being there then he would probably forget about his existence.

the pure alpha, that chenle had called as jisung, moved away with an annoying grin on. ❝jesus christ chenle, what part in 'we are over' don't you get—❞

❝i didn't come here for you.❞ chenle snapped back, cutting the alpha from his sentence and also earning a look from him. ❝and for your information, i got every part of it.❞

❝then why are you here?❞ jisung had his arms crossed and brows raised, looking down at the shorter who's putting up a courage but was subtly shaking.

❝didn't you just hear me? i'm here to study, to get a degree.❞ the omega huffed, also following the alpha in crossing his arms. ❝not to follow you.❞

❝you could have gotten your ass in another school rather than being here then!❞ jisung didn't even know why he was furious in seeing this shorter male here. the moment the two of them bumped, he immediately knew who it was but he didn't know what to feel at that moment. he just knew that he had to run after him which is what he actually did. ❝you're rich, you could just get yourself in an—❞

❝i ran away from home, okay!?❞

the alpha stood there with wide eyes, eyeing the older who looked like he was going to break down any minute from now. ❝you.. what?❞

chenle clenched his fists. ❝i had enough of them and ran away from home. i took your words and decided to be independent with living alone and putting myself in a school that could get me somewhere in the future.❞ he told him.

the two had a past and if you look back at it, they were having the same relationship as donghyuck and his alpha. both chenle and jisung were inseparable and were more clingy to each other, especially jisung who didn't want to let chenle go whenever they had to go home from school. if jisung wouldn't have found out about chenle being an omega then the two would have continued their love story.

jisung didn't know what to do when he found out that he was dating an omega. he was afraid to go home and tell his parents about it, more frightened in bringing the news to his father. the only solution he could think of was breaking up with the omega and that was the least he had thought to do. at that time, he couldn't think of another way out. what he didn't know was how much he had hurt the omega when he broke up with him, it was even during his heat. jisung had so much self control in leaving the place, leaving the omega laid there, without turning back and scooping him to his arms. but he had dealt his own problem the moment he got home, having the door to his room locked so that no one would suddenly barge in.

and now, he just had to meet him after he had just tried to forget about him.

jisung's jaw then dropped once he heard the shorter's story, ❝so you're saying that this is my fault?❞ he then took a step closer to the omega and slammed his hands once more to trap him. ❝i only told you to get yourself out of the problem you are facing. i didn't say anything about running away.❞

not wanting to lose whatever argument they had, chenle had kept his chin up to look at the alpha straight in the eyes. ❝i am not blaming you for anything.❞

the alpha tilted his head as smirked. having his tongue poking his inner left cheek, he was pissed at how the omega was acting. ❝it sounded like you were.❞

the two glared at each other with the tension they are having heating up. they stared deeper till they could just see the longing they were craving for deep inside them. it went on for a few more seconds with their glares turning to soft gazes as they looked at each other with worry filled in their eyes. deep inside, they wanted to ask how they have been doing but neither of the two had the guts to man up and say it.

the moment was then disturb when jisung looked somewhere else and pushed himself away from the omega who frowned when they had to break contact.

placing both his hands inside his pockets, jisung had that smug on his face. ❝you won't last a week here.❞

chenle was taken aback by how jisung underestimated him. ❝are you challenging me?❞

❝not even bother betting on it.❞ with that smug look still plastered on his face, he leaned down to match the shorter's height. ❝because i just know for a fact that you'd be eaten alive here.❞

jisung had his insides clenched at the thought of other alphas going for this omega right here but he just wanted to scare off chenle, hoping that he'd change his mind and leave while he still can.

remembering something, it made chenle go confident all of a sudden that made him pull out a smirk. it did cause for jisung to furrow his brows but he didn't want to look surprise at the sudden gush of confidence that chenle had. ❝the last time i remember, i managed to get into a relationship with a pure alpha without getting caught being an omega for a whole year.❞

jisung had let out a scoff when chenle had mentioned it. ❝you got lucky.❞

❝i don't think so.❞ chenle now had an innocent smile on his lips as he took the alpha's collar and brought him down till their faces were just an inch away. ❝i'm just good at hiding.❞

but that confidence of his didn't last long.

so was chenle planning on hiding till he'd graduate college? jisung had his forehead creased at the omega's purpose. he didn't know that he was already releasing pheromones that made the omega breathe heavily in fear, just like a moment ago when he had caught him from running. when jisung was aware of this, he didn't even try to get himself to calm down and continued on scaring the omega, making chenle's legs all wobbly and hands sweaty. he could then feel the shorter's grip on his collar loosening and now had his hands dropped down, biting his lower lip to eat up his whimpers.

❝you better start hiding then.❞ jisung whispered with his voice getting octaves deeper before properly standing up and fixing his collar that chenle gripped on too tight a while ago.

eyeing down on the omega that's having tears welled up in his eyes, the alpha clicked his tongue before walking away from the shorter who had his body slid down from the lockers.

running his hand from his hair stressfully and messing it up, jisung groaned in annoyance as he was a proper distance away from the omega.

❝fuck, i scared him.❞ he mumbled, hitting his head a couple of times as if he was scolding himself.

❝chenle—❞ xiaojun got inside his shared room with chenle and there he saw the male he had been looking for the whole day. ❝chenle!❞

the said male had his arms hugging on his legs and face buried down on his knees, raising it up when he had heard his name being called. the beta then closed the door and immediately came rushing towards the male, engulfing him in a tight hug. chenle had his eyes shut as he just inhaled the beta's calming scent that he was releasing.

chenle had no idea how worried xiaojun was when he left the gym and didn't bother coming back, not even showing up the whole day when the transferees were being toured around the campus. it also got xiaojun curious as to why an alpha came running after chenle and managed to get back to the gym moments after. but xiaojun was too worried for chenle's state to even think about that alpha.

❝where were you!?❞ xiaojun pulled away, placing the papers down on the bed and went to wipe the tears on the other's face. ❝why are you crying?❞

❝i'm..❞ chenle raised his hands up and wiped his tears away, giving xiaojun his bright smile as if nothing happened. ❝i'm sorry for not showing up. i got tired and quickly went straight here.❞

the beta let out a sigh, getting the papers and passing it to the male. ❝here, i got your schedule for you.❞ he then went to run a hand through the other's hair, stroking it gently in hopes to calm him down. ❝i didn't know i'll be a year higher. i'm sorry if i can't accompany you all the time.❞

he felt bad for the boy, he was new around the place just like him but good for xiaojun that he had his boyfriend there who surprisingly was in all his classes. he was worried of what would happen to chenle. even though he claimed that he was an alpha, xiaojun still couldn't help but care for him. probably because he's going to be his roommate for the whole year but still, he's not going to sit there and watch if something happens to the boy.

❝thank you, ge.❞ despite of his voice cracking a slight bit from crying, chenle still let out a chuckle as he also didn't realize sooner that xiaojun was older than him. ❝i can handle myself, don't worry.❞

that then made xiaojun smile, ❝we can still meet during breaks and lunch.❞ he reassured the younger.

chenle nodded his head with a small smile, leaning on to the beta's touch. who knew a beta could be such a good company to have.

xiaojun then took this chance to ask, ❝what happened? why were you crying?❞

jisung happened, that's why. ❝i was clumsy and stumbled down the stairs.❞ he lied, hoping that the older believed it.

❝be careful next time.❞ xiaojun let out a giggle, but he was deeply worried if chenle had a bruise from it.

chenle then nodded, lowering his head down as he did made a mental note to be careful. be careful around the campus as not to stumble upon that alpha again. he would try his best not to see that park jisung ever again.

among all places, why did he have to even meet his ex-boyfriend here?
