Ring-ding-ding!

I awoken to my loud annoying alarm from my phone. With a big sigh I rolled over and turned my alarm off. I looked at the time and saw it was 9:00 a.m. I go to work in a hour. That's just fantastic...

I sat up and stretched before getting up from bed. I walked to my closet and got my uniform out. I work at a café. But its kinda not your typical café. Its maid café wear I have to wear this maid type outfit and heels. While boys generally stay in the kitchen and cook,girls generally either cook, run food, or both. Which sucks but its the only one I could find.

After getting ready got work, I checked the time. It was 9:25. Walking to work takes about 15 minutes. So I think I have enough time to walk to the corner store and back. I put a heels on and left the house. While locking the door behind me I heard his obnoxious voice.

"Hello Yukari! Good morning!"

I looked beside me and saw my nosey neighbor, Tsaki. I know he means well. And he is nice. But he is nosey, talkative, and sometimes even annoying.

I sighed," Hi, Tsaki... Morning." I put my keys in my purse and walked past him. But not taking the hint, he followed behind me.

"So are you off to work?"

"Yes,but I was gonna stop at the corner store to get me a snack while walking there."

"Oh, I can drive you! I was on the way there to get two gallons of milk anyway."

I turned around and looked at him. He had that silly smile of his plastered on his face. Well, I usually would refuse. But I was planning to ask my boss for a raise. Its better before work than after. Because sometimes he leaves off before my shift ends.

I smiled and said," Sure, thank you." Tsaki's eyes seemed to lit up after that and led me to his car. We got in and began the short drive.

Tsaki offered while he drove," If you'd like I could drive you to work today to."

I nodded and said,"Thank you I was just about too ask you that." Tsaki smiled at me and looked back at the road. One we got to the corner store I went in and got my snack,a bag of Nori Shio chips. After the corner store,we were on our way to my job.

Tsaki asked as he drove,"So are you ok with coming to work this early..?"

"Yes." I said with a nod," I am asking my boss for a raise. Its perfect to do before work." I looked at the time to see it was 9:45. This is a perfect time to ask. Once we were at my job,I thanked him for driving me,and walked into the café. I walked to the back of the café to my boss office and knocked softly.

I heard the deep husky voice of my boss say,"Come in." As I walked in, he looked from his papers and smiled as he said," Good morning, Yukari-san. You do not usually come in this early. You caught me by surprise."

I bowed and said," Good morning Hiyama-sama. I've come to ask a question."

Hiyama smirked and said,"Ask away."

I cleared my throat and said," As you may know, I've been working here for almost a year now. I am also saving up to go to college too. A-And I was wondering if I may possibly be eligible for a raise..."

Hiyama stood up from his chair and walked around his desk while saying," You are one of the few people to ever ask me for a raise. The only female for that matter too. You have lots of guts Miyazaki Yukari..."

I said in almost a whisper,"Is that a good thing?" Hiyama put a hand on my shoulder.

He said with a smile,"You have been a very hard working employee. You are perfectly eligible for a raise. All I need you to do is go out with me after work..."

I felt my cheeks heat up and said,"Like...a date?" Hiyama smirk her own wider.

"At my house after work. That's the only way to get a raise from me." I shook my head and Hiyama's smirk immediately faded.

I said," Hiyama-sama,I am flattered but I don't know about doing that. You have my deepest apoligies." Hiyama let go of my shoulder and walked back to his desk.

As Hiyama sat in his chair, he said," Alright Miyazaki, you don't have to accept now. But remember, the offer is still up unless you change your mind."

I nodded then said with a bow," Thank you for your time, Hiyama-sama." After I left out his office I furrowed my face. What was he thinking to suggest something like that. The nerve of that guy! He is usually very charming and very polite to me. Hiyama even suggesting that is so out of character of him. Looks like I won't be getting a raise anytime soon.

*Closing Time*

Today was my "going hard" day. I have some days I work from when the café first opens to its closing. I am aloud to do this because of how understaffed we are. Since I rarely do this,I am left to close up the café.

But after I finished with the kitchen, I walked out of the kitchen to see it pouring rain outside. As if I needed this too. It was such a nice day before. This day is a hot mess. Hesitantly, I opened glass door and walked outside. I locked the doors to the café and started my cold walk home.

My heels clicked down the concrete sidewalk as the cold rain drenched my clothes. I held onto my cold arms trying to get some warmth. I muttered to myself," I should have checked the news before this. I guess this is sorta my fault..."

I got quiet when I heard meows from the alleyway I passed. I peeked around the trash in the alley to see a box. I stood there for a moment and heard another meow. Its coming from the box. I crept slowly to the box and looked inside.

I looked inside the box to see a cat. It was as black as a crow and eyes as blue as the morning sky. It was gorgeous. The cat silently looked up at me. Surprisingly it did not get scared or hissed.

I bent down and slowly moved my hand to pet it. I felt it pur against my hand.

I smiled and said,"So cute. Your as soft as a plushy." I then stood up and looked around. I looked back down at the cat,which was gazing up at me. The cat didn't his and doesn't seem provoked in any way. Maybe it's a lost cat. I thought for a moment and sighed.

I said,"Well looks like you're coming with me." It meowed in response. I picked up the box and closed it. Then I left the alley into the rainy streets, continuing my walk home.
