Kana and Mira watched the fierce reptile of the sea dive out of the water and snap its jaws onto the Great-White, dragging it under the water within the lagoon and sending an entire pools' worth of water over the audience in the front three rows.

Soaked in water, the audience cheered and clapped in total excitement and awe to what they just witnessed. Kana was grinning ear to ear and clapped along with everyone else. The bleachers then began to move downwards.

"Alright, hold on folks. We're going to get a closer look at the Mosasaurus." The announcer said.

When the bleachers stopped moving, the audience was sitting in an Underwater Observatory and had the view of the huge reptile. Noise filled the attraction with cheering and clapping. The Mosasaur grabbed the last of the Great-White shark, eating it whole.

"Woah! It has eighty-eight teeth!" Kana told her sister excitedly.

Mira grinned. "Hey, wanna see something else cool?" She asked.

Kana nodded rapidly and they left the Observatory.

Several men and women sat around, eating their lunch.

The construction crews were on break as Suguro and Rin got out of the car. Rin stared up at the towering walls, looking unconvinced and more than a little uneasy. If the walls had to be that tall, something already wasn't right.

"We've been pre-booking tickets for months. The park needs a new attraction every few years in order to reinvigorate the public's interest. Kind of like the space program." Suguro informed the man, walking ahead. He walked over to the flight of stairs leading up to the observation tower. Rin followed.

"Corporate felt genetic modification would up the 'wow' factor." Suguro kept talking as he led Rin to the Control Room of the facility.
"According to our focus groups, the Antonomus Rex makes us relevant again."

"Do you info dump when you're nervous or is that just a thing you do? And Antonomus Rex? Really?" Rin asked, unimpressed.

"Stop judging! We needed something scary and easy to pronounce. You should hear a four year old try to say Archaeornithomimus." Suguro snapped.

"You should hear you try to say it...." Rin snorted, doing his best not to laugh while Suguro rolled his eyes.

They entered the observation room. The Supervisor was sitting at his desk on his lunch break, munching on a sandwich. Besides them, he was the only one present. They walked over to one of the windows. As before, the Antonomus Rex was nowhere to be found at the moment, just the dense jungle of the paddock interior beyond the glass.

"So, what nasty Dino did you cook up in those mix and match labs of yours?" Rin asked.

"Ah, the base genome is a T. rex, the rest is....classified." Suguro answered carefully.

Rin grimaced. "You made a new dinosaur but you don't even know what it is?" He asked dubiously.

Suguro was annoyed by the line of questioning. Did Rin have a few points? Maybe. Who was the expert here? Suguro, that was who.

"The lab delivers us new assets and we show them to public. Easy money." He turned to the Supervisor. "Can we drop a steer, please?"

The Supervisor, annoyed at them bothering him on his lunch break, turned and pressed a button or two.

"How long has the franken- dino been in here?" Rin questioned.

"All its life." Suguro responded.

Rin gaped at him. "It's never been outside this enclosure?!" He demanded.

"Stop looking at me like I'm a nutjob, we know what we're doing! We can't exactly walk the thing!" Suguro growled.

There's a rumbling noise outside and a huge crane lowered a hunk of beef down from above.

"And you feed it with that lifeless thing? No other living being to connect with it?" Rin continued his criticism.

"What's the problem with it?" Suguro asked, not getting the man's point.

"Animals raised in isolation aren't always the most functional." Rin rolled his eyes like Suguro should know behavioral patterns like he did.

"Your raptors are born in captivity...." Suguro reminded him.

"With siblings! They learn social skills. And I imprint on them when they're born. There's trust. The only positive relationship this poor animal has is with that crane. At least she knows that means food." Rin shot back.

He got increasingly more concerned, but Suguro wasn't sharing his opinion. He adopted a patronizing, sarcastic tone.

"So she needs a friend? We should schedule play dates? That sort of thing?" He demanded.

"Probably not a good idea at this point in that thing's life. It's too late for that. Any other living thing is a threat to it." Rin answered.

Noticing the dinosaur hadn't emerged from the jungle to eat the meat, Suguro leaned over and tapped on the glass.

"Where is it....?" He murmured.

"Haven't you ever seen Nemo? Don't tap on the glass, it pisses them off." Rin said snarkily. Ignoring him, Suguro shook his head.

"It was just here. We were just here."

He moved to one of the thermal imaging consoles and activated it. It performed a scan of the jungle. After a moment it emitted an annoyed buzzing sound and flashed the readout "NO THERMAL SIGNATURES DETECTED." The other computer screens arranged around the room began beeping in alarm, all showing the same words. They couldn't detecting any body heat inside the paddock. The Antonomus rex wasn't showing up.

"Shit." Rin said in awe, stepping up to the glass while Suguro was still trying to figure out what happened to the dino.

"That doesn't make any sense. These doors haven't been opened in weeks." The Supervisor told them. It was clear the man was starting to panic.

"Were those claw marks always there?" Rin pointed out the window. Giant, jagged claw marks were dragged down the wall of the enclosure. Suguro stared at the marks before his brain really registered what the signs meant.

His eyes widened and he ran out of the room. "She has a tracker in her back! I can track her from the Control Room!" He called back to Rin and the Supervisor.

He drove at probably illegal speeds while calling the Control Room.

"We have an asset out of containment! Put ACU on alert! This is not a drill!"

Lucy and Lewin were chatting idly in the Control Room, talking about Lewin's family barbeques back in Texas.

They heard a beep. On the park map, a blinking red dot indicated trouble in the Restricted Area. The phone rang. Lewin answered it hesitantly.

"Lewin, get me coordinates on the Antonomus." Suguro told him seriously over the phone. Lewin and Lucy exchanged confused glances.

"Okay, yeah, uh...." Lewin set to typing in the proper codes to access the information he needed just as Mephisto entered and noticed the map on the large screens.

Rin and the Supervisor– Tamakawa–entered the main area of the enclosure through a side door. Warily, they walked through the jungle to the back wall, where another worker was inspecting the claw marks. Rin was alert and Tamakawa was very nervous, wringing his hands and looking two seconds from losing his sandwich, but they made it over to where the worker was without incident. Rin ran his fingers over the deep grooves with his bare hand and the three men stared up at the massive wall looming over them.

"That wall's forty feet high. You really think she could've climbed out?" Tamakawa wondered.

"Dunno. Depends on whatever DNA they put in that Dinosaur." Rin said.

"Uhh, Suguro? She's in Paddock 11." Lewin informed him.

"But I was just there and she wasn't....." The man denied.

"Suguro, I'm telling you, she's in the cage!" Lucy looked at the footage.

"Oh shit. Suguro, there are people in there!" She reported urgently.

"Get them out now!" Mephisto ordered, finally stepping in.

He was beginning to see why Amaimon had advised against recreating this sanctuary of old creatures.

Lucy's voice came through Tamakawa's radio garbled.

" ....area.....Paddock 11.....dock 11, do you copy...." Rin frowned. Her voice was urgent. That couldn't be good. He glanced around, even more uneasy. Something was very wrong here.

Tamakawa unclipped the walkie from his belt, unconcerned. "Yeah?"

"It's in the cage! It's in there with you!" Lucy shrieked.

Rin was already moving. "Go!" He yelled at Tamakawa and the worker.

Rin pushed past Tamakawa and the three men ran for the door they entered through. Tamakawa was slow and lagged behind. Suddenly he stopped, glimpsing the outline of Antonomus Rex through the trees. Turning, he ran back the other way.

Rin and the worker skidded to a halt as the dino emerged from the jungle and blocked their escape. It bellowed forth a loud roar. The two turned tail and ran back the way they'd come, but the worker wasn't fast enough.
Antonomus snatched him up in her clawed hands. He screamed.

Rin gritted his teeth as he kept running. That guy was dead the second he was snapped up in those jaws. Rin wished he hadn't heard the cracks and crunches of bones behind him. Foliar sounds, but something he'd hoped he'd never have to hear again. He should've expected it, working with dinosaurs.

Tamakawa reached the paddock door and glanced behind him. Rin was still running from the Antonomus hot on his trail with the poor worker in her mouth.

In the Control Room, Pheles, Lucy, and Lewin listened to the sounds of the worker's body being chomped.

Tamakawa opened the paddock door and ran through as soon as he could fit.

"What the hell, man?!" Rin yelled after him. That guy would let this thing loose just to save himself?!

"Close the door!" Mephisto ordered even though Lucy was already on it.

"Damnit! It's not fast enough!" She cried in frustration.

"We're gonna lock him in there?!" Lewin demanded, pointing to Rin still running. The guy had speed, they could say that.

They watched him get to the handprint mechanism. He stopped and pulled out the front panel. He glanced at the Antonomus behind him and yanked the wires out, not even bothering to pull certain ones. Standing, he picked up the panel and chucked it at the Rex. It stopped the thing for only a second as the metal sliced into the thick skin. Rin ran to the side to draw the dino away from the closing door.

"He's a damn hero!" Lucy gaped. The door to the room banged open and Yukio ran in.

"Where's my brother?!" He demanded. They all pointed to the screen. Rin was circling back around to the door. He ran through. The door closed on the following Antonomus.

"Oh Rin." Yukio murmured. He knew that door wouldn't hold. Lewin pulled up a camera from a light pole outside the paddock to keep watching to see what was happening.

Rin had quickly slid under a Jeep and cut the gas line, dousing himself to hide his scent. He saw Tamakawa running away, screaming. He wasn't gonna last long. Sure enough, the door was shoved open and the Rex zeroed in on Tamakawa. While it ran with it's back to Rin, he bolted. Hopefully, he could prevent any more people from dying.

"I need a chopper on that dinosaur immediately! And someone go pick that man up!" Mephisto ordered.

"Already on it sir." Suguro was still on the call. He ended it and sat his phone down. "Looks like I'm going off-roading." He muttered, jerking the wheel to the right and driving across the grass to retrieve Rin.
