Chapter Seven
Amberdawn up there! He looks AWESOME! Read on!
The sun was just about to vanish behind the huge mountains. The sun turned the sky a dark velvet color. Flamepaw sat by his friend, Frostpaw. They were both eating a rabbit. Flamepaw had learned some cool fighting skills, all of them he hadn't learned at BloodClan. The Clan had came back to the camp and were patching up the camp. The nursery and Cloverstar's den were the only dens that did not get burned. Echolight had checked both I and Frostpaw's pads for any burns. I was okay, but Frostpaw had to stay in the medicine cat's den for two days. The front and most of the inside of the cave had caved in and some of the other appearances had to dig a opening to the back of the den. The protective pine trees that used to surround the camp were now black and all the leaves had been burned on four of the smallest pines. The brambles that served as a opening to the camp was gone.
"Flamepaw!" Blizzardflight hurtled himself out of the nursery's entrance and charged towards Flamepaw. "Bluemist had her kits!"
"Really?" I exclaimed. "Show me!" I quickly shot to my feet and followed Blizzardflight into the nursery, where Bluemist was licking a ginger she-cat. two other kits were mewling around her.
"Mother!" I cried. "You've got kits! This is great!"
Bluemist purred warmly. "They came overnight."
"Congratulations!" The kits mewled and tumbled around. A tom kit strayed to far and was tripping over his tiny tail. Flamepaw gently pushed him back towards Bluemist, just as Frostheart walked in.
"You have your kits!" he exclaimed. "Congratulations!"
"Thank you," she replied.
"Have you named them?" Frostheart asked.
"The ginger one is Berrykit, the brown tom one is Branchkit and the other she-cat is Squirrelkit." she answered.
"Wonderful names" I replied. Bluemist gave me another happy purr.
"Are you hungry? should I fetch you some prey?" I asked. Bluemist nodded. I padded out of the nursery, picked up some prey, and brought it back to Bluemist
"Thanks" Bluemist replied, grateful. She took a bite.
Frostheart walked out, and Cloverstar walked up to him. She whispered something in his ear and walked away, towards her den.
Frostheart called to me, "Flamepaw, Cloverstar wants to see you."
"Okay" Flamepaw replied. What does she want? Flamepaw padded to Cloverstar's den. He parted the lichen, and walked in. The light was dim so it was hard to see. The darkness cast shadows along the walls.
"Cloverstar?" I asked.
"Here" she replied. She stood up.
"My patrols have seen more scraps of prey all over. I want you to spy on ThornClan and StormClan and see how they are doing."
"But," I cried. "We stay on our side of our territory!"
"I know" Cloverstar mewed. "But this is urgent."
"But if I am found?" I asked "Then what will you do? I can't go on missions now! My mother had her kits!"
"I know" said Cloverstar. "But like I said, this is urgent. Also, when you return, I will want you to come with me to the Whisper Pool."
"What's the Whisper Pool?" I asked.
"It is way to share dreams with StarClan. It is a honor to see it."
"Is is like in a cave, or something?"
"It is in a grove called Laomna."
"Cool name."
"It is. Now about seeing how the other clans are doing."
"Right!" I exclaimed. "I'll go." I padded out of Cloverstar's den, and went into the nursery to tell Bluemist about what he was about to do. After the talk with Bluemist Flamepaw ate a piece of prey and walked out of camp.
So the grove's name. You might have some need some help. It's a made up word. Anyways, it pronounced Lay - o - ma. We are at 668 words! Fun Fact of the day !
Cats are naturally inclined to climb and perch up high in order to survey their territory.
