Chapter 16
- Audry
It's been 6 years since the surgery. I recovered pretty well from it and was able to use my voice again. After a while of doing voice excercises I was even able to sing again just like when I did before the accident. Oliver and I are still a couple he officially moved in with me 2 months after the surgery. He's been asking me to sing for him ever since the first time he heard me sing. 3 years ago He proposed to me on our graduation from uni, and I said yes. A year later we finnally got married. Oliver had a job as trauma coatch, that means that he helps people who have been in serious accident and survived or who have been raped or abused in any kind of form. After he helped me trough my tough times he relized he loved to help people like that so he made his job from it. I followed language in uni and now work as interpreter at a big company in the city. I love my job even though there are alot of things I'd rather do. Today was one of those day I try to follow my dream. Last week I went to an audition to become singer for Dysney. They where looking for someone new to sing the songs in their movies. Today they where gonna call with the results. But that's not all that is happening today. I think I'm pregnant with mine and Olivers first child, the doctor was gonna call with the results also today. So now I'm sitting here waiting with my phone in hand. Oliver went to work early this morning, he was gonna try and get home earlier then usual because he wanted to know the news aswell, about the audition that is. I haven't told him that I think I'm pregnant yet. Suddenly the phone rang.
"Hello Audry Lance speaking."
"Good afternoon Miss Lance. I'm Caroline Smith head of the music department of Disney. Is it correct that you did an audition for singer?"
"Yes that's correct."
"Then I have great new for you. Our general director was pretty impressed by your audition and we like to hire you. If you would just like to come and sign your contract tommorow at 2pm? If that's possible."
"Yes, yes ofcourse! I'll be there. Thank you very much."
"Your welcome. Goodbye miss Lance."
"Goodbye." I hung up the phone and made happy dance around the room. Before I was done dancing the phone rung again.
"Hello?"
"Hey Audry it's doctor Phill here."
"Oh hey doctor. Do you have the results?"
"Yes I do."
"And?"
"Congratulations Audry. You're pregnant."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. Now I got to go Goodbye."
"Goodbye thank you." Right when I said that Oliver walked in. I had the biggest smile on my face.
"You seem happy, did you get the call." He asked as he walked over to me and hugged me.
"Yes, I got hired!" I screamed happely.
"That's amazing!" Oliver awnsered in a happy way.
"But that's not all I'm happy about."
"What is the other thing?" He asked curiosity laced in his words.
"Well I went to the doctor because I had a feeling something was happening with me." Suddenly worry washed over his face.
"What's wrong? Is it bad?" I smiled and shook my head no.
"I'm pregnant Oli." All his worry vanished and was replaced with happyness.
"You're kidding me." I shook my head no again.
"We're gonna be parents."
"Oh my god." He said before kissing me.
"I'm so happy. I love you." He said after he pulled away. In that moment I knew I had everything I could have ever dreamed of. I went to the bottom of the world, lost everything I had but right now I have more then I could ever wish for. The perfect husband, friends, a job I love, the job I've always dreamed of having and a beautifull baby on the way. I couldn't be more happy then I am right now. If I had never lost my parents, I wouldn't have hung out so much with Emily and I would have never lost my voice. But if that had never happend Oliver didn't have to stand up for me and he would have never been the only friend I had. Maybe we wouldn't even became friends because I had my own group of friends. I looked up at Oliver and smiled.
"I love you too."
~ The End ~
It's only at times when you look back at your live that you see all the things that you succeeded in. It's then that you see all the good that has happend in your live and all the bad that had to happen before it would turn bright. We just have to keep faith in the fact that everything will turn out alright. That for everything bad that happens, there will come something good from it. That no matter what happens you'll find your way in live, and you'll find where you belong. It can't always go the way you planned it to be but eventually it'll turn out alright. Just keep faith.
