Forgiven Living
Forgiven Living
The vestiges of sin
plague me when
I unchain the lock
my heart-door ajar,
it crawls back in
Like the wicked servant
whose un-holy debt
was paid in full,
then acted evil all the more
Am I treating the forgiveness of my sin
with an utter lack of remorse?
Trampling the perfect gift
with deliberate force?
If I am forgiven
How am I living?
It would be beyond crazy
to constantly carry
an endless array
of concrete-laden bags
on my insufficient shoulders
When Christ pounded the rocks to dust
Let the pieces of your past pitiful life
Scatter to the wind, forgiven
as far as East from West
