My problem is a mind problem

My problem is a me problem

My problem manifests itself

in the choices that I make

in the thoughts I create

and especially in taking the bait

My problem cannot be fixed

by a psychological bag of tricks

Only God can turn an evil heart

inside-out, inject His Love

and then re-start

Sin is that Intentional Explosion

of the Divine

only to be replaced with mine

The greatest tragedy would be

to die on the vine

Forever lost, or Forever thine?

A/N: I wrote this a few years ago, when the term I.E.D. [improvised explosive device] was known all too well - used by an enemy to inflict death and injury to American soldiers fighting in foreign lands. I use it here to describe sin - an intentional explosion of the Divine - meaning to blow up what God made for holy purposes. Sin truly is devastating in its effects on the body and soul, and it is worth fighting against.
