Weak Kneed - Weak Need - Weak Knead
A/N: I really can take no credit for this poem, or most of my God-honoring poetry for that matter. The Lord implants the ideas in my mind, and I just try to faithful in putting them down in words. I really like this one; I like to use a play on words - in this case three different spellings of "need" that are somehow brought together in a cohesive statement about the importance of admitting our weakness, and how God can use our weakness to transform us through His strength. May God be glorified, and may you who read this be transformed by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
Weak Kneed - Weak Need - Weak Knead
There is something about our need
to present a face
that is diametrically opposed
to our inner core - our true nature,
hapless and debased
We are pitiful indeed, with a
candy-coated plastic outer shell
held up by weakened knees
When will we see
that our weakness
is ever-needful?
If I admit that I am sick
black as coal
in my horribly managed soul
With speed of light
He comes to save the man who tried to win
but never can - on his own, anyway
My weakness kneaded within
His strength, His Masterplan
produces in the recesses
of my spirit-soul
A love that dwarfs
the blackness evermore
