Realization

......... Aarans Dream

Within my subconscious mind, I enter an unfamiliar environment unable to see further than all the white that surrounds me, the white goes on infinitely, this setting makes me feel prideful, and eminent.

I look at my body it's transparent, before I have enough time to apprehend my surroundings, an orderly motion picture is placed before myself.

I see thousands of men and women, the city structures built beautifully, more so than Corenthia most illustrious structure.

The countryside, lush with colorful crops, and vegetation as far as the eye can see.

The children are gleeful, playing with one another, not seemingly bothered with the other children's ethnicity, or looks.

The women were comely, and men were of muscular shape.

Men and women seemed to be treated quite equally, unlike Astrid, where most women are forced to be housewives.

Here, they are seen sparring, even though the women have small structure compared to the men, their skill makes up for it.

The longer the motion of pictures stays, the more intense my feeling of pride and eminence.

"Could this be the ancient Nobles?" I question.

The motion of pictures vanishes, right at the moment I asked the question.

A glowing shadow creeps behind me, I attempt to turn, but I am unable to maneuvar freely.

The glowing presence has the potence that compells me to crumble to my knees.

This presence felt omnipotent.

"Your guess was wrong," an intensely deep voice said.

The beings chuckles were quite shallow, "You're existence, is going to be an interesting one!"

"What's happening?" I question to myself.

"Do not fret boy, you will know who I am, when you meet me once again," he said, I feel his radiating smile.

Joyous, to say the least.

A gentle hand ruffles the top of my hair.

The evironment around becomes fainter with every second that passes.

Until...

I awaken, but my sight is clouded.

I squezze my left arm with my right hand in vexation. The slightest of movements sets off my ribs, as if they are sharply poking into my sensitive skin in unison.

Soon enough, my vision discontinues from its muddled state, and it promptly transitions into its normal.

I awoke in a puzzling setting, laying in a bower. The trees offering me the shade to fend against the sweltering heat of the noon.

"Where am I?" I question. Slightly hopeful to hear a voice.

No response. Eerie silence, not even the chirping of birds are heard.

My palm rubs my forehead as a headache arises from the depths of my cerebrum.

For some unknown reason, this headache is hindering me from recieving an important memory.

The memory to tell me, why I'm here.

I attempt to recollect the important memory, but after close to a minute of thought, I move on, as my ribs are nagging.

I see maybe six... no seven steps from me, my satchel laying on the outer edge of the trail.

"Odd... I don't recall placing it there."

I hear myself wheezing, my ribs are acting as an nuisance.

I am in considerable need of my satchel, as it holds within it, my handmade spell-book to heal my wounds, and for the love of the heavens, my accursed ribs!

I attempt to pick myself from the ground, but I am incapacitated. My foot slides the unintended direction, and my body slams onto the rubber-like grass.

The biggest of blunders.

I cry out profanities when my ribs come into contact with the apathetic grass.

"No! I must maintain my composure, anger certainly won't ease the situation," I said in an attempt to sooth my temper, though I still remain frustrated.

Using all my awareness, I am able to pick myself up once again, with discretion. Slowly, but surely, I am able to reach my satchel.

I cautiously flop onto the torrid trail, I ignore my wailing ribs and the intense sun rays slowly heating my backside.

I rummage through my satchel, I throw out the miscellenia intended for academy, finally locating my self-made book of how-to healing spells.

I know what you're thinking, "Why haven't you memorized you're healing spells? You specialize in that, don't you?"

Well, my answer is, "Not so fast."

My spell book happens to be quite distinct from the rest, all the spells held within my book are permanent and relatively complex. All the healing-spells learned in academy are temporary, placing me higher in distinction from my compeers.

After minutes of tediously searching through the rustic pages of my hardback, I fall upon the sought for spell.

Appearing vehemently eager in the process.

"Thank the gods!" I utter with contentment.

The spell I found(formulated):
================================
Name of spell: Os Sanabit
Function: Bone healing
Duration of spell: Permanent
How to cast: Swipe your hand softly through injured area 3 times, whilst chanting, "Deus, tou I meam curare!"
================================

I softly swipe my hands on my ribcage three times, as I chant three times, "Deus, tou I meam curare!"

An immediate feeling of warmth and uplifting comfort, it fills my vessel for the slightest of seconds, easily the most relaxing sensation of my life.

"Yes!" I exclaim. My ribs are completely healed.

I place all the thrown out miscellanea back into my satchel.

Slouching the satchel onto my back.

I stop my actions immediately, as I hear a faint shout in a distance.

"Aaran!" I hear my name outcried, nearing myself it seems.

I hear twigs snapping from the direction behind me. I stay vigilant, as I cautiously turn a 180.

A young man's voice speaks, "Aaran! There you are, thanks the gods! I searched for you, lest you were slaughtered."

A youthful pale man appears. With a quite wimpy appearance. Most certainly around my age range.

"Who are you?" I said, his face is familiar.

"Thomas... your classmate for the last two academic terms," He said.

My eyes squinting in arrant confusion, attempting to remember who Thomas was.

Then the long forgotten memories of Thomas stream live in my conscious.

"Oh yes, I faintly recall you. You were the student who would attempt to fit every mold in the social ladder," I said, rather churlishly might I add.

"That's one way to recognize me, I suppose," he said, his head pointing downward, as though ashamed.

"I apologize, I'm just a bit irritable, not knowing the reason I awoke in this trail and all," I said with sympathy.

"All is fine, we must hurry into the center of Astrid(Capital City of Corenthia), as the city has been under seige by several infamous bounty hunters," Thomas said, attempting to motion us his proposed direction.

"Wait," I said, "Why is Astrid under seige?"

Thomas let's out a sigh.

"I might have missed a few details of the news, but I'll break it down as quickly as possible," Thomas said, preparing to slurr his words, "A bounty hunter that was originally believed to be an assassin has slaughtered more than half the attendees of Knights Academy of Corenthia, including staff and guards, also, one of the bounty hunters was caught saying, "Who among you is a Noble!" A Noble, how would a noble even exist without being known, to conclude, we must retreat into the center of Astrid, because bounty hunters are ruthlessly slaughtering citizens," Thomas said, without a pause to exhale oxygen, seemingly purple, as he completes his explanation.

"Now that you're caught up, we must hurry, I don't want to be caught dead with a bounty hunter, especially Seth," Thomas said in a fearful tone.

"Se-Se-SETH!" I shout, memories begin streaming through my mind, all my day events.

From the morning in which I left my parents cottage, to the event in which I faced Seth, are completely recalled.

Then it comes to me, "Mother!" I said in a shout, I have to get to my mother.

I immediately dash towards my parents cottage, as if my life depended on it.

"Hey! Aaran!" Thomas shouts, following suit.

I run a lengthy distance, before my expression of complete shock stops me.

"N-n-NO!" I shout, I see Seth facing me from the cottage door.

"Ahh, nice to see you alive and well, Aaran," Seth said, in a welcoming manner.

Thomas, arrives shortly after me.

"Ah crap! Of all the people I was to see, I see you, worst of days, easily!" Thomas said in a whine.

"Where is my mother?!" I holler the question.

"Why don't we talk about your father," he said, with a unhideable grin.

He pulls out something hidden in his cloak.

I make out the contour.

He shows me proudly, as if it were a trophy.

"Ahh, you're father put up a fight, but alas, he fell to his inevitable end," Seth then chuckles.

"Aaaagggghhhh!" Thomas shreiks in a panic.

"Is that you're father's head?" Thomas questions.

A tear is able to drip from my chin, my father must have saved me from the sure torment or likely death Seth was to inevitably inflict on me.

"Why did you murder my father?" I said, able to hold in the intense sadness that was to reign over all my emotions.

"He interfered, there's nothing else to it," Seth said, with a bland expression.

"Ha, you are going to weep over your pathetic father," Seth said, he must have seen my tear drooping from my face.

I know Seth is attempting to push me over the edge, "Hold it," I said, in attempt to sooth my overwhelming emotions.

"Where is my mother?" I said, this time demanding.

"Your mother is beautiful, too beautiful for me to slaughter, unlike the thilth the majority of humans produce," Seth said, as if remenescing the time with her.

"Answer! Now!" I said in a holler, insistent for an answer.

"Demanding now, are we," Seth said in suprisement, "Oh well, you deserve the answer for your troubles, you're mother was kidnapped, that's the end of it."

"Not good enough!" I shout, rage fills me, I'm unable to think correctly.

I go for an attack, knowing my chances of success are far from feasible, but it is of no matter, no one will ever take my loved ones life without consequence.

Seth smirks once more.

"Come, come, Noble, show me your untameable tenacity," Seth said mocking me.

"You will rue the day!" I shout lunging towards Seth.

"Aaran!" I hear Thomas shout, "He's pulling out a Sabor!"

I focus on Seths movement, and he seems to be stealthy pulling his sabor.

Seth within a second, lunges as well, with a familiar sabor at hand.

My heart begins pulsating violently, my veins echoing the vibrations made by my heart.

I feel my senses heightened, possibly just based on adrenaline.

Seth slashes his sabor at me, I'm able to nearly completely dodge the assualt unscathed.

The sabor only cuts my cheek, I throw a kick at Seth ankles.

It does absolutely nothing.

"C'mon now!" Seth shouts, "You're a Noble, battle like one!"

He clutches my leg, launching me straight at Thomas.

"A-a Noble!" Thomas said in suprisement, "How?"

After completing his speech, I collide onto Thomas, as I do I hear the air knocked out of Thomas chest.

He is used as my cushion, softening the impact to the ground.

"Quit calling me a Noble!" I said aloud.

I quickly jump upwards, into a fighting stance.

"Are you still dillusioned?" Seth questions. "You're blood is a combination of the purest of blood and of the lowliest of ichor. Just look at your blood it's shining bright red, there is no mistaking it."

I swipe my right hand at the cut on my dirty cheek.

I view my palm, the blood, it shines.

"Aaran... you're blood is near to borderline god." Thomas said in astonishment.

"My blood was never like this at infancy, not even this month," I said.

"How is it possible to have Noble blood, when I haven't had it at birth?" I said with a puzzled expression.

"Well... it is in the decision of the deity Iloh, the God of the Earth, I'm sure your aware of the deity," said Seth.

My expression is still frozen in bewilderment, how am I a Noble, when I wasn't born as one?

Seth shouts, "Enough explanations, I will sever your head Noble, the head of a Noble will bring me the highest of payment!"

My eyes turn their attention onto Seth, my expression changes from bewilderment to arrant anger.

I prepare for the brawl...

Then, a flash of gold with unmeasurable speed, faster than my senses can become aware of, steps in front of me.

"A Gold-Class Knight!" Thomas said with amazement, "We are surely saved!"

"Could it be?" I said, with a smirk arising from my face.

Gold Knights are extremely gifted in the art of battle, whether it's combat or sword fighting. Their armor made by the finest of blacksmiths, as are their weapons.

I make out the contour, it is a gold knight, with brighter armor than the silver knight that had succumb to his death.

But...

She is a women.

I could've sworn on my life that women were not allowed to be soldiers, but low and behold, a women of the highest soldier class is standing feet from me.

Before I have enough time to mutter a question the women speaks, "You may watch the slay, Aaran," This women had an affable air to her, but I have no idea how she knew of my name.

She speaks once more, "You are a Noble after all, I will protect you."

"Me as well?" Thomas questions.

The women does not respond.

She glances over at Seth.
