Trapped

a slight sleek of hazy light
slants from under the door
onto the grey marble tiles
onto the way too cold floor
i hear the rush of tap water
drownin' your meek profile
while the voids 'n' vacancies
throw my soul into exile
kissin' the compliant silence
i lay down on chilled marble
this vague slant of hazy light
is remindin' me of our garble
how you poured neon stars
in the nitid glass of my eyes
were you drunk that night?
or was it wine on the skies?
you tell me it was an illusion
dream of a dream of a dream
so where do i find you now?
in a seam of a seam of a seam?
this patchwork is threaded
oh your string is a lost cause
i hear the water rushing down
but my soul is on the pause
the marble in the bathroom
is it cold like one under me?
does it ring with my sobs?
with my screams 'n' my plea?
give me atleast the silhoeutte
of the person you used to be
or take away this slant of light
that constantly forces me to see
this is modus operandi for you
to close the blinds of my brain
to trap me in voids 'n' vacancies
to leave me in agony, in pain
but what if i start loving it all
this calendar without dates?
and what if i turn this around?
this cruel game of twisted fates
what if i become you at last?
oh will you lie down here too?
so that slight sleek of hazy light
slowly cuts your soul into two?
Author's Note
Listening to 'The Way I See Things' by Lil Peep. This poem is strange. I'm not happy with it but I'm just putting it out here because I don't have the energy to tamper with it. It's way past dawn and I've got only 3 hours to sleep. Please let me know what you think of it. Thanks! ❤
Much love,
Hazel
