"Don't panic, there's a higher chance of you getting away by swimming slowly..." After this, the head sunk back down, and you became even more scared, but remembered what the person, er, thing, um... we'll say person, had told you, calming yourself down and swimming back to shore, watching out for the sharks, who seemed to be just watching you now.

You got out, walked to your stuff, and sat down, almost having a panic attack. What the HELL just happened?!
