Chapter 15

A/N: This chapter might not be good, but at least it's kind of funny.

Caius, unsure of his situation, did the only thing that made sense to him. As soon as the sun had set, he pulled on his coat, headed toward the tavern.

The streets were empty, with a few day drunks ambling mindlessly around. Caius guessed that his fate tonight would be that same as theirs. He sighed heavily, opening the door to the tavern.

The atmosphere was surprisingly warm and inviting, and it wasn't as dimly lit as Caius had pictured. Rosario kept to his word, he was sitting at a table in the corner, two pints of mead set out. He raised his glass toward Caius, signaling him over.

"You came." Rosario leaned forward as Caius sat down. He slid a pint toward him.

"How much have you had?" Caius took a cautious sip.

"It's not wine, Caius, you don't sip mead." Rosario chuckled. "This is my second."

"Well, cheers, I guess."

Caius and Rosario clinked their cups together, chugging it down as fast as they could.

"You should know, I'm not much of a drinker." Caius felt slightly bubbly after about three pints.

"Neither am I." Rosario downed his fourth.

"Tonight isn't going to go well for us, is it?" Caius signaled the waitress for more.

Rosario looked Caius up and down, smirking. "It could go very well."

Turns out, Rosario was right. After they had both had well over a healthy limit of alcohol, Caius wig seven pints, Rosario with eight, they decided to head back to the castle to sleep.

"I'm definitely going to feel this in the morning." Caius opened the door to his quarters, fumbling with the knob.

"Aren't we both?" Rosario took Caius by the hand, leading him in. As soon as the door closed, Caius was pushed against the wall. "I should let you know, I play rough." Rosario's face was centimeters from Caius's. "Can you keep up?"

"I probably could." Caius shrugged.

"Good." The first thing Rosario did was tear his shirt off. His kiss was so rough, Caius at first thought he was being attacked, but he learned how to ease into it. Rosario kept him close, there was nothing between the men but bare skin and heavy breathing.

Caius had barely undone his belt when he heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" Without thinking, he called back, then took Rosario back into his arms.

"OH GOD!" Rhys's yell shocked both men, he turned away, hiding his eyes. "WHY WOULD YOU TELL ME TO COME IN?"

"You knocked."

"Come outside with me." Rhys shook his head and left.

"My brother." Caius rolled his eyes as he explained to Rosario. "I'll be back." He fastened his belt again, running after Rhys.

Rhys opened his mouth to say something, but decided against it.

"Alright, listen, it wasn't what it looked like."

Rhys squinted, sniffing the air. "Wait, do I smell mead?"

"Maybe a little."

"How much did you have? You're practically swaying."

Caius counted out on his fingers. "I only had a pint. Or two. Or seven. It's not a big deal."

"Then who was that?"

"That's Rosario, he's a friend."

"He was naked in your bed."

"Okay, I know it looks bad, but have you seen his abs? They're like rock solid."

Rhys looked exhausted. "No! And I don't want to see that! God, Caius, you're way too drunk right now."

"I am not. Come on, Rhys... and Rhys let me have some fun."

"Did you just say my name twice?"

"There's two of you, it'd be rude not to acknowledge you both." Caius said as if it were plainly obvious.

"That's it. Tell your 'friend' to go home. I'll fetch you some pickled eggs, and you're staying in my quarters." Rhys grabbed his brother's arm.

"You're not the boss of me." Caius yanked his arm away.

"You're right, what do I know? I've only been alive four more years than you have." Rhys sighed, putting his head in his hands. "Whatever, do what you want, but don't come to me in the morning begging for help with your hangover."

"I won't."

"I know you and Zeph think I'm strict, but I only want to keep you in one piece until I'm gone. After that, you can go wild." Rhys looked toward the floor. "But have a good night."

"You too."

"Oh, by the way, I did see his abs. They're not as impressive as you might think. Sober Caius will figure that out." Rhys playfully slapped his brother's cheek. "Though, they do look pretty rock solid."

"Don't they? You should feel them."

"I think I'll leave that to you."
