Getting Noticed:

-This will be a chapter of my experience and how I got a couple of reads!

First, you have to accept that fame doesn't happen over night. There's a lot of good people asking me why aren't they getting Reads or why isn't anyone voting.

Failure is the mother to success!

Be prepared for the dark times that'll come, before you ask the question make sure everything in your story is great, or at least standard. Grammar, punctuation and structure etc.,

I sat at three Reads for five months when I published my new first book. Everything felt wrong (it was!), and it wasn't until some months later that people started to read my story! I was excited!

But unfortunately my fairytale crashed when someone broke the news to me that my book was basically SHIT! They didn't say it in those exact words, but we're not stupid people!

That's the second thing, make sure your story is written correctly!

Third! You have to communicate and be generous! Help others and they'll help you! You'll be surprised at the generosity of others from a simple small act of kindness!

What I mean by "communicate" is voting on other's stories, asking them for feedback and just getting around! You have to act as a virus on Wattpad! As weird as that sounds, it's true!

I was EVERYWHERE. I went from a Harry Potter Fanfic to a Romeo and Juliet Classic. I'm so serious! You'll see me commenting on one book from every genre! At least!

That helped me gain great friends from all over the world. I still chat with many today and they're wonderful people. We help each other to become successful.

It doesn't take a lot to do something good, and don't ALWAYS expect an award at the end! That's the worse way to be.

Karma works for the good and bad! If you're doing the right thing then something better will happen to you TEN TIMES OVER.

If you aren't patient and confident, then there's no point in being an author! I'm not trying to sound shady or anything but it's the truth! I want to be 100% real with you guys! I haven't met anyone on Wattpad that's like that though!

I have in person, but that doesn't matter today!

Anyways! The best way (in my opinion) to get reads is to communicate, be nice, write correctly/check for errors, and BE A VIRIUS!

The fourth is to use tags! If you have an Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or tumblr etc., you should know what I mean! Tags help people discover things. Like #Justinbeiber #MetGala #BillboardTop10 #IceBucketChallenge

Those are examples of trendy social media tags, but for Wattpad you have to stick with tags that are related to your story. Preferably, I'd use the most trendy tags! #Werewolves #Vampires #Random #HistoricalFiction (all those!)

A better way to find trendy tags on Wattpad is to look at your discovery. Click the genre that you're book is mainly about and surf through that section! Find out why those popular authors are featured, why are they popular, what are their tags and read their books as examples of what to do! See what's new! What's hot! What's not!

It's all about research. Find your place and succeed beyond it! Even try to talk to those popular authors! See if they can give you guidance for feedback. (Caution: Beware some are snobby assholes!)

Remember to take their advice and thank them! It'll help you build a bond then a miracle might happen!

If you don't like their advice then don't get shady about it. Still smile through the screen and move forward. At least you learned something!

Also, don't forget to thank anyone who's ever voted or commented on your story! That is crucial! Especially, if you want them to come back and bring their friends!

Whenever I find a good ass book, I can't stop talking about it in school. One time, I stopped doing my assignment in class to read a new updated chapter and they sent me to the office because I was acting crazy!

(TOTALLY WORTH IT! I'm still shocked til' this day!)

Stay in school kids!

Next, is COVER, TITLE, AND SUMMARY! Now with this! This is the FIRST thing your lurking readers will see. At this point they're surfing through the discovery to find something to read and you want their attention to stop at your story! The cover catches their attention, the title sparks their interest and the summary drags them inside! They won't give a DAMN about what's inside if those three aren't popping because they think the outside represents the inside! (*cough* me *cough*)

I KID, I KID! (Not really) Don't act like you haven't done that either! I see you!

Bottom line! Have those done before you publish!

Also! Update and write regularly! Have a schedule so that they know when to check out your profile or their notifications for an update!

I don't know about you guys but I won't stay for a book if the author takes forever to update a single chapter! Pet peeve! The book literally has to be EPIC for me to stay! If it isn't, then it's already removed from my library!
