This story occurs in the same 'universe' as my first novel, The Four Baristas of the Apocalypse, but occurs several generations later and with entirely new characters. It is standalone and no knowledge of The Four Baristas is required (but if you feel like reading it before Obliquity, that would be totally fine and is in fact highly encouraged).
