Gift/Weapon - Gale owns a long, slender and plain wooden staff. Although it does not look like anything special, the staff can grow or shrink to Gale's will. He is a pacifist, so it does not truly classify as any type of fatal weapon.
Personality -
Needless to say, Gale is a pacifist. He does not approve of war or violence, preferring to have a friendly discussion instead. He believes that every situation can be handled with words, if one only knows the right terms to use.
Gale is not a fan of manipulation, nor is he able to pull it off. He is a very honest person and will tell the truth, good or bad, despite what people may want to hear. Along with this, Gale also keeps to his word. He takes promises and swears very seriously. This leads into the next part of his personality.
He is a person that can easily make decisions. Gale is aware of the proper criteria to make a group-beneficial decision. On that note, he is not selfish (he is a minimalist, actually), and can be considered majorly over-generous. He will (and has many times before) give away his last piece of bread during the winter, or will offer the finest of advice to someone in return for nothing. It does not benefit him much, but it is helpful to others, and that is his main purpose.
Although he can mentally handle high-stress situations, along with tons upon tons of questions, Gale does have a breaking point. At his breaking point, his patience has finally thinned and he will answer every question brusquely. He tries his best to keep calm and friendly when this happens, but his efforts are usually left unsuccessful.
Despite to the amount of effort that it takes to reach his breaking point, Gale is not a pushover. He will stand up for himself in the least aggressive of ways; using simple words, of course, or different parables in order to tell a moral. Speaking of which, his morals do not hold a distinct line between good and bad. Gale believes that everyone dabbles in the area of grayish shades. Because of that, he can be considered to trust much too easily. He thinks that nearly all people have the right thing on their mind, but that really isn't the case.
This champion is not a perfectionist, but he certainly does always feel the need to please. It is for that reason that Gale is so very generous. When he does not please his companions, or any others that he interacts with, he feels like he was failed someone, no matter the importance of said person. Days like these where he feels incomplete often cause his mood to drop, along with the quality of his advice and other wise sayings.
Otherwise, Gale is fairly gentle and handles every situation with great care. He is not a strict man, but he doesn't allow the world to truly walk all over him. He believes that nothing is unimportant, and absorbs knowledge (both useful and not) like a sponge underwater. Overall, Gale is extremely generous and cares like a grandfather for almost all people he meets, no matter the good or the bad, and no matter the size.
Looks -
Gale is a spindly male with blackish-brownish hair that is prematurely beginning to gray with the tasks he bears upon both shoulders. What tasks, you may ask? Well, representing his Prince, of course. His blue eyes are bright with wonder that has survived from his childhood. These small eyes are framed by dark bushy brows. Due to how often he smiles and expresses great emotion, his face is wrinkled and smile-lined. Many may not consider him entirely attractive, with his oddly large ears and pointed nose, not to mention, his usually dusty and dirt-smothered skin.
Gale owns one simple tunic, a pair of undergarments, one loose pair of pants, and a very long shawl. The shawl hands from his shoulders all the way down to his ankles. It is more of a cloak than anything else, buttoning once at the front and continuing to hang down in front of his shoulders. This very important shawl (to him) is colorful and patterned, and personally represents the joy of the past and the anticipation for the future. Gale usually goes around barefoot, yet he does own a pair of moccasins for special occasions.
Strengths -
+ His mind retains information easily. Gale is able to hear something once and store it instantly. He can easily recall the information again later on.
+ He has experience from his past few years of travel. In other words, Gale can be considered a wise man, and is a great person to confront for advice and personal choices. Not much else.
+ He has a great sense of direction, and a good sense of decision.
+ He is calm, and handles stressful situations well.
+ He is honest, although not very brutally so.
+ He's the 'useless' information bank. He's also probably your grandfather, twice removed.
Weaknesses -
+ He believes that every thing has good within their hearts. However, it isn't always the case. He does not see evil in everyone, and therefore is an easy person to stab in the back.
+ He trusts much too easily.
+ Being generous is usually a good thing, but not when you have nothing to give in the first place.
+ He is afraid of failure, and will do anything and everything to prevent it from occurring.
+ He is a very expressive person, and therefore, very predictable. Although he cannot be too easily manipulated in a sickly way, it isn't difficult to get him to feel something emotionally if you say the right words. If you say the right thing, such as convincing him that he has failed someone, he will become extremely upset. When he is upset, he can be easily controlled.
+ He does not hold much pride in himself, but he holds great expectations for others. If they break his expectations, which happens often, his world is thrown off balance. In other words, he expects everyone to do the right thing, and when they don't, he becomes pretty sad about it.
+ He can be considered obsessive at times. He needs everything he does to be perfect. Although his mind has trained to handle a lot of stress, his physical body can't really take it all too well.
+ He rambles. A lot. And when he rambles, people usually stop listening to what he has to say, where the ending result is usually a very important lesson. This weakness is verbiage, where he can't truly get his point across in a few short words.
+ Perhaps his awkward humor can be considered some type of weak point.
Likes -
+ Pigeons
+ Hot tea
+ His staff, of course!
+ Pleasing his Prince
+ Receiving praise (although he stays humble about it)
+ Telling tales
Dislikes -
+ Being called "old"
+ Alcoholic beverages
+ Having many possessions
+ His aching back (although he will never admit it)
+ Being called "stubborn". He isn't stubborn! He is just standing up for his point.
+ When people don't pay attention to his tales.
Other -
+ Gale carries around this large textbook that he calls The Book of Tales. It contains hundreds upon thousands of stories and parables that all have an ending moral or lesson to them. His goal is to pass on these tales to someone else before he dies, but people don't seem to listen whenever he asks them to take the book.
(I hope this is all right. If not, I'll alter it sometime tomorrow.)
