Backstory: Eligor was born in Dublin in 1188 to a very poor family. By the time he was 13, his entire family was dead, so, having no money, he had to resort to stealing what he needed— that is, until he heard about crossroads deals. He made a deal with a demon for wealth, and lived rich and a coward for ten years, until the hellhounds came and dragged him downstairs. His cowardice followed him to and past the grave, and he took up the demon's tools after only 7 years of letting himself be tortured, becoming a demon himself after about 230 years of it. He stayed in Hell for 563 years after his death before being stationed on Earth in 1774. He made many deals with soldiers and generals in the Revolutionary War before finding that he didn't like leading people to their deaths and leaving the crossroads business to become your average everyday demon in 1804 (and made very good friends with Rowena Macleod in the process). He lived among the people throughout the Industrial Revolution and both world wars, as well as the Cold War and Vietnam. He invented age regression somewhere in there, helping to sneak people out of asylums and giving them a coping mechanism to help deal with their problems and also trying to overcome his own anxiety. Eligor has always been rather peaceful, and isn't exactly very good at his job as a demon. He met Castiel in 2010, and met the Winchesters through him. They took him in and agreed to help and protect him, caring for him when he's little and being a friend to him. (In my own timeline, he also introduced them to Rowena, but eh.)
Appearance: Eligor's current vessel, a young man named Taygen, is rather small and a bit scrawny, with shaggy, curly dark brown hair that falls about to his ears. He has big blue eyes (that can, obviously, turn pitch black), as well as olive skin that is absolutely covered in freckles. He has a few scars littering his body (some are from self-harm— Taygen did that, not Eli, since he promised not to hurt him before possessing him) and a birthmark on the inside of his left thigh.
Personality: Eligor is a sweetheart, to say the very least. He's helpful and always kind, and is grateful for anything and everything anyone does for him, especially the Winchesters, Rowena and Castiel. He's... a bit of a coward, though, with severe anxiety weighing him down, and he's very jumpy and easily scared. He's terrified of being alone, and is also overly sensitive and emotional from his time torturing and being tortured. He has horrible nightmares of Hell, which is what makes him so scared of everything. Really, though, despite all this, Eligor is a little ball of sunshine. He always does his best to be helpful to his friends to, in a way, make up for all the bad he's done. He regrets his past and wishes his spirit could've just moved on, but he's always been able to work with what he's got. He loves his friends, and would do anything to protect them.
Fears: abandonment, holy water, salt, holy fire, the demon blade, being afraid, rejection, being disliked, Crowley, Lucifer, Hell, Heaven, the angels, God, Dean sometimes (but only when he's angry)
Flaws: he's a coward, he's naive and easy to manipulate (especially when he's little), he's very easily scared, he's extremely emotional, he has severe anxiety, he's very clumsy, he's not quite sure how to fit in with the modern world since he spent the last 100 years trying to ignore humanity's mistakes
Other/Trivia:
- He has a pet hellhound!! His name is Aeon (pronounced Eon), which is "eternity" translated into Latin. Aeon is very protective of him, especially when he's little, but he's also protective of Eligor's friends and "family". Rowena has cast a spell on Aeon so he can be seen, but to ordinary humans (except Sam, Dean and Bobby), he just appears as an unusually large Rottweiler.
- His favorite food is Irish stew. Always has been, always will be.
- He honestly prefers Sam over Dean when he's little. He doesn't know why, but Dean seems intimidating, and Sam feels safe.
- When he's big, he's allowed to hunt with them, but when he's little or otherwise unable to, the boys drop him off at Bobby's (yes, we're ignoring the fact that he's dead).
