Shattering Daylight
This is for xXxGodzillaxXx 's writing competition.
I did the first option, if you needed to know.
"Watch where you place your paws, sweetheart. We wouldn't want your pretty little pelt to get dirty, would we?"
A pale grey tabby she-cat pads out of the cover of a towering tree, coming to sit in front of you. She curls her tail neatly over her paws before opening her maw to speak.
"I know you're confused, sweetheart. Just remember, you're not in StarClan anymore."
Her leafy green eyes are alight with laughter as you circle the small spot you appeared in, muzzle still parted in shock.
All you see are the towering, shadowy trees and the dark, murky river dividing the small clearing and the copse of deciduous forest. The area -- except for the confusing she-cat's words -- is completely silent; there are no sounds of prey here.
But the she-cat looks familiar. Like some cat you've seen before, but can't remember. Like a cat you've been warned about in tales the elders told.
"Don't you remember me? After all, I've heard the elder's story myself." The ticked tabby tilted her head, a playful frown forming on her face.
Still, the name of this cat eludes you, like an alerted piece of prey.
"Give up, sweetheart? The name's Featherripple."
Recognition hits you in the muzzle.
Featherripple.
A smile comes over her face, apparently noticing both your shock and recognition.
"It's me, sweetheart."

Kitemask's voice rings in your ears, the scent of milk and the nursery sweeping over you for a second.
"Featherripple was a bad cat, and she committed the worst crimes imaginable." The elder's voice was soft, as to not wake your littermates.
"Did she kill cats?" you ask in a squeaky voice.
The dark grey she-cat shook her head, allowing an amused purr to slip out before explaining in a serious, grim manner.
"No, dear. She did something worse. She hurt your older brother in the most painful way possible."

You're back to the strange forest with Featherripple.
Her face was twisted with amusement.
She got to he paws, padded forward to stand nose-to-nose with you. She tapped the tip of your nose with her own.
"Get ready for the thrill of a lifetime, sweetheart."
And then, the forest was gone. Replaced with the camp you left behind in your dreams. Only, it was different. Warriors you've never seen before were milling around, and the senior warriors you recognized were apprentices, bouncing in place as their mentors led them out of camp to train.
You looked at your paws and yowled in surprise. Your fur was transparent; the dried, dying grasses were visible through your paws.
With a quick, panicked look at yourself, the conclusion comes to you like a claw to the face.
"You're not dead, sweetheart." Featherripple was padding towards the Medicine Den now, urging you on with a flick of her grey tail.
You both stopped at the entrance where you could see the medicine cat and an apprentice --probably theirs, you reason -- sorting herbs inside.
The medicine cat resembled Featherripple immensely, from the way her tail was curled around her paws to the look in her green eyes.
The apprentice however, was a small tomcat with a blue-grey coat, with a blotched tabby pattern. His amber eyes were narrowed in concentration as he gazed at the plants strown across the floor in front of him.
They were murmuring something between each other before the Featherripple look-alike twined her tail with the apprentice's, much to his obvious discomfort.
She bent her head where her muzzle was level with his ear, whispering something that caused the tomcat to relax. She swiftly gave an affectionate lick to his ear before returning to her work.
Something softly hits the tip of your ear, and now the den's disappeared; replaced by a beautifully lit forest, and the same two cats.
This time they're older, you realize; the taller, stockier figure of the blue-grey tomcat huddled next to a now plump-looking Featherripple.
Their tails were entwined and heads bowed, sides brushing.
She looked up to the tomcat, maw parted in a question. He shook his head. The she-cat's eyes hardened. Her expression changed.
She stands, storms into the forest, her fur bristling. The tomcat gets to his paws and follows her.
"This is what I did," Featherripple whispers. You jump, forgetting the grey tabby was sitting next to you.
"I did the worst thing ever to be done."
You tilt your head, confused at the sadness brimming her voice.
She turns to face you, all traces of emotion wiped from her face.
"I hurt him. I violated Skypaw; stopped him seeking help against me."
***
You shoot up in your nest, gasping breaths pooling out of your muzzle. Your eyes dart around the den and its occupants.
You're home.
