Chapter 14
July 1st
6:00AM
Keith refused to leave Lance in the condition he was in. Lance constantly ran his hands over the wrist which bore cuts, pain lighting his eyes, and he constantly made sure he didn't look at the window. Keith was curious why, but he didn't question.
"Keith" Lance looked at him and gave a soft smile, "You really don't have to stay if you don't want to" he said, trying the best to act like he was fine.
Keith could see right through him, "not a chance, I'm staying right here" he said, sitting on the edge of lance's bed and putting his hand protectively on his arm.
Lance blushed faintly and gave him a smile, his once clouded, foggy eyes were now bluer than the sea, and Keith could make out the hint of blue-green than circled his eyes. God he's hot, Keith thought with a pang of jealousy, Why can't I be that hot?
Lance could feel the blush glistening against his cheeks now as he noticed him staring at him. Lance didn't mind it though. It made him forget about his worries. Forget about his pain.

Lance began to dream. Not of the dark, Escalating shadows that he used to in his dreams, but now he dreamed of Blue. He dreamed of a pale icy sky, and an ocean blue field, with bright vibrant roses that seemed to mingled with it.
Lance rested his hands on the brightest red flower and cupped them around it. He didn't dare pick it, in fear of ruining it's color. Instead, he simply bent down and sniffed it.
Almost in a burst, the colors turned a pastel purple, the colors whisking across the floor, the sky, the grass, like a snake. Lance watched in awe as words echoed in his ears, "I was red... and I liked you because you were blue.."
July 1st
8:00AM
Lance opened his eyes to a silent darkness. One that didn't scare him. He lifted his head and looked around, recognizing the hospital bedroom and the familiar shadows of nurses passing by his door. The curtains revealed it was somewhat light outside, but it had began to darken due to a storm coming.
"Lance.. your up?" Lance heard Keith's voice, and turned to look at him, sitting back against the head of the bed. Keith was standing right beside him, his silhouette barely noticeable,
" Yeah... what were you doing..?" He replied in a hushed voice, almost a whisper. Keith was hesitant, "Well.. I.. was just making sure you were okay"
That wasn't true. Keith knew he was lying to Lance. He didn't want lance to know, but before he could kiss him, the Cuban boy had woken up. Keith was glad the darkness was hiding their faces, or else lance would see the reddening blush that was appearing on his face.
Lance blinked, "Keith. What were you really up to?" He asked. Keith felt his breath catch in his throat. He couldn't find the words to say.
Lance reached out his right hand and gently put it on the back of Keith's head, "I might know" he whispered, a blush appearing on his face.
"What?" Keith gulped, resting his hand on Lance's right arm. Lance thought for a moment, then gasped, "oh yeah! I need to show you something!" He said, letting go of Keith's head and grabbing the book of poems from his counter, "Turn on the lamp beside me, Keith" he said.
Keith, blushing majorly and confused on what just happened, turned and fumbled with the switch for a moment before turning it on.
Lance flipped through the pages, then looked up at Keith, "You remember this book, right?"
Keith nodded, "yeah" he said, glad the lighting of the lamp was bad enough to only light what was below it, in this case it would be just the book. His very still lingered of red as he looked at Lance's eyes, then to his lips, then away.
"In my dream, it mentioned a part of the book in it.. here!" Lance said, showing it to Keith.
Red.. and blue? Keith looked at Lance, then gave a soft smile, Pidge, you sneaky jerk.
"What do you think that means, Keith?" Lance asked, turning to look at Keith.
Keith reached his hands out and rested them on the sides of Lance's head, the. Pulled him close to him and kissed him.
Lance didn't object.
