Chapter 1

[Anya’s POV]

March 8, 2011, Rainy

It was raining so hard that it resulted to flood the streets. I had to wear a very long raincoat and boots. I was trying to catch the school bus but they already left me.

And guess what? I’m the luckiest person in the world… I tripped on a small rock and yes, my shoes got wet, my books got wet, I GOT WET. I wanted to cry so hard. It was the worst day of my life. As an immature teenage girl, I cried so hard and just waited for the rain to be over.

I stood up and sat on the bench that was beside the “waiting station” for the school buses. I suddenly remembered my parents who were fighting over my Dad’s mistress, main reason why I was late for school. I cried even more and I was shivering… it was too cold… I just couldn’t stand it anymore…

Then suddenly, a brown haired boy came up to me and was trying to calm me down. I felt comfortable and happy when he stood beside me. I didn’t know his name then but I felt like I’ve known him since forever. He brushed my hair then smiled at me. He wrapped his arms around me so that I’d feel warm. Yes, it was awkward and weird for some stranger to do that but I trust him… I trust this stranger. I believe that he is a good guy. I looked at him intently…

“Do I know you?” I asked the boy.

“You don’t have to know my name.” as he stood up and walked away. I tried to catch him but he was too fast so I just called him.

“Hey!!! I think I need to know your name. It would be rude for me to just let you go. I’m Anya Hwang. Thank you for taking care of me.” I screamed.

He looked back and flashed a bright smile.
