The bright orange dragons swooped over the shimmering water. Behind him, someone yelled, "Slow down, Spark. You'll leave all of us in the dust!" That was Cobra, fully formed again, and trying to catch up. Spark knew that, if he tried, no dragon in Pyrrhia could catch him. But he let Cobra catch up, plus his other friends, Ripple, Moss, Mango, and Vortex. They would've had one more, but their winglets NightWing, Bluedancer was locked in a shack, and the chances of her finding them were pretty slim. Just twenty days ago, Spark and his friends had decided that the need to bring Cobra back(he had been dead at that point) was too great. They had sacrificed a life for a life, and now Cobra was alive and well again. In the meantime, they were all flying away from that shack. After a hour or so, they Ripple was near his family island. Actually, there was something he needed to do. "Can you guys wait?" he asked. "Sure," Moss replied. Vortex watched Ripple ask Spark something and Spark gave him two small slates. Weird. Ripple turned and shot off east. It wasn't long before he saw his island. He landed and found his brother and sister over on the beach. "Hey guys," he said. "I, er, just wanted to tell you guys something." "Go ahead," his brother Starbringer said. "I'm going to be gone for a while," Ripple announced. "You'll come back," his younger sister Angel whispered. Ripple made himself look reassuring. "I will, don't worry," he lied. He wasn't even sure he would come back at all. But for the good of his siblings, he had to lie. "Oh, and we can keep in touch with these." He brought the slates out. "Just write something on it and I'll be able to see it. Bye guys." "Bye!" Starbringer yelled after him. Ripple tried not to cry. It felt awful to lie to his brother and sister. But it was the right thing to do. He reached his friends again and they set off. "You good?" Cobra asked, dropping back. "Yep," Ripple lied. "I'm good."
