Lost
Silence. Complete and utter silence, save the roar of the wind in the girl's ears.
She was walking along a concrete path, winding and twisting through the golf course. She had her golf bag stand on wheels, so it didn't hurt to carry the clubs along the path.
Her teammates had been taken back by Coach already, her staying behind because there wasn't room on the cart.
As she trudged along the path, her thoughts were filled with sadness, fear, and loneliness.
'Did no one bother to protest me walking back alone because I'm still the new kid?'
'I thought I had made progress... We even had a bonding moment when we all got lost together and had to call Coach to be given instructions...'
'Am I really that annoying? They spend practically all practice telling me to quiet down...'
'I'll never fit in....'
'I'm not going to our first competition either... I'm not 'good' enough....'
'Its so lonely out here alone... Even though they didn't talk to me, anything is better than the howling wind...'
'I want to put my music in, just to drown out the silence... But I can't.'
'Should I quit? I love golf, but I wanted to make friends by joining a team...'
She sighed and wiped away the few small tears that had started trickling down her face. She knew if was stupid to get upset over something so stupid, but she couldn't help it. Its just how she was.
The parking lot came into view as she kept going, but it still took several minutes to get back. When she arrived she saw the rest of her team all standing around, laughing and joking. Furiously rubbing her eyes to dispel the tears, she strode past them without a word.
No one said anything.
No one cared she had come back late.
No one even glanced in her direction.
Not even Coach cared about her.
She stored her clubs at Tyler's house, then climbed into the car of her ride to and from golf most days.
Staring forlornly down at her phone, she decided to tell everyone. It'd probably get her nothing but hate..... Her Wattpad family didn't care much for her.... All she did was cause fights.
Her finger hovered over the PUBLISH button for a second, wondering if she should.
She pressed the button and hoped she didn't get to much hate.
