You offer to let Ria sit in the front, as you always do, but this time she turns down the offer, as she sometimes does. "Are you sure? You get in the front seat and close the door, then put your seatbelt on, as does Ria with with the back door, also putting her seatbelt on as well. You expect her to drive straight to the house, but instead she makes a stop at a local Kroger supermarket store. She parks in a parking spot a few spaces away from the store, and then gets. After confirming that the two of you dont want anything, TT says "Aight I'll be back in lil bit" and then closes her door and heads towards the entrance. You sigh to yourself as you are ready to go home and chill, thinking in your head "She might be a while, imma listen to some music till she come out" then you put your headphones into your ears and start blasting your music at high volume to kill some time. It feels like 30 minutes have gone by when in actuality, it's only been 12. Time is going by super slow and you cannot stand it, your ready to head home and watch TV. Knowing you dont have any choice but to be patient and wait, you continue to vibe to your music, listening to that one playlist with the same 16 songs that you listen to all the time. All of a sudden, your phone rings. You pull it out of your sweater pocket and see that its your best friend Darius, who you've known since first grade. You take your headphones out of your ears and unplug them from your phone and then answer his call and put him on speaker, then place your phone on your lap because you dont feel like holding your phone to your ear since you know conversations between you and hom can be hours long at times. With that being said, you hang up the phone with Darius, and dial Ria's number that you have memorized and know by heart. You take a deep breath, and call it. It goes straight to voice mail tho, which is a huge relief to you, since you felt like you were gonna fuck up anyway. You dail Darius's number back, and the conversation between you two starts right back up again.

After this conversation ends, you stay on the phone with him, but yall dont speak to eachother. You open up your messages, tap on Ria's number, and begin to text her. You end up getting scary and instead of asking her out directly you decide it would be better wait till yall get to the house, so you send this text message instead "Ria, when we get to the house, would you mind if I talked to you in private? Theres something I need to talk to you about" After this you notify darius and once again yall start another conversation that goes like this:

The word "Read" pops up next to the text message you sent her. You start to get butterflies in your stomach and get nervous asf, thinking she probably already knows what your about to ask her, and expecting no as her answer. "Aye foo I ain't gon lie I'm scared as hell right now no kapp" you tell darius, getting anxious seeing three dots and waiting for her response. Darius sighs and says "Foo you straight bruh, just be yoself and go with the flow. Remember what I said foo, even if she says no at least you got the shit off yo chest." you nod in agreement knowing he is speaking facts and respond with "Aight bet foo I gotchu" Darius starta to say something but you see that Ria has finally responded as a message from her pops up and you interrupt him "Aye foo she just replied" Darius then asks "What she say foo?" You dont pay attention to what he says though, because your too busy trying to figure out why Ria replied with "🤣" You have no idea what she is talking about, so you send another text that says "whts funny" You can hear Darius speaking on the phone, knowing that he wants to know what's happening, but you are too busy waiting for Ria's response to answer him. Seconds later, the word "Read" pops up once again next to the text you just sent, and almost immediately another message pops up that reads "Look behind you" as you see that text your you get stiff as a board, and butterflies rush through your stomach. You slowly turn praying to god you dont see what you think your about to see, and jump back, startled when you see Ria sitting right behind you in the backseat. "OH SHIT!!" You say in a startled voice. She busts out laughing after seeing your reaction. Darius hears you and asks "Aye foo what's wrong?" You dont dont answer right away, and end up replying with a whole other answer "Aye foo im-imma call you back". Before Darius can even say anything back, you hang up your phone and look at Ria, your heartbeat increasing in speed. It turns out that she has been in the car with you the whole time and she had heard everything you and Darius were talking about. You feel humiliated and stupid, wondering to yourself how the hell you didnt realize that she'd never gotten out of the car in the first place, and how you never noticed her at all. You feel weak as fuck, nervouse, and embarrassed at the same time, but you tell yourself that it ain't no point holding nothing back since she already heard what you said, and you say to yourself "fuck it" and finally ask her out.
