a mournful cry from mountain top

echoes across the land

falling silent, miles away

devoid of animal or man

a nightly vigil, beneath the moons

a lonely perchance, perhaps

as echoes fade one more night

a heart goes into relapse

determined still, as morning sun

rises into the sky

he sleeps his daily eternity

until night convinces him to give it one more try
