Chapter 8: Interrogations Begin (Evan)

I sat in her hospital room for however long it takes for this to go away, Stella didn't ask for any of this bullshit. A shitty family who wants her dead, two evil sibling that tormented her for the longest time. A little evil grandmother who's supposed to be kind and caring like mine but no she's in on the death insurance. I should've never have taken her back to that place if I would've known what would happen to her. For all I cared, they belonged in hell. I wonder if her parents sold all of her art work to help get themselves out of a financial crisis. Wait.. crisis isn't the word, it's more like a problem. But the only way they can get out of the "problem" is to kill their own daughter, their flesh and blood... makes me sick. "Don't worry babe, I'll make them pay. They won't get away with this hell they've put you through." I said as she woke up and smiled. "I know you will." She said as she touched my cheek with her hand. "You're my whole world babe, if they- if you- I couldn't control myself." I said as I held her close. Suddenly there was a knock at the door and the nurse came in. "I saved this for you darling. Your favorite. Here's a fork, I snuck it out of the kitchen when the staff left.. let me fill your water.." the nurse said. "No I've got it, I need to take a walk anyway." I said as I took the pitcher and began to fill it with ice as a man in his middle twenties came beside me. "How is she?" He asked me. "Excuse me?" I said confused. "I heard what happened I came as fast as I could, Sheriff Dawson called me. I can't believe grandma would do this!" He said as he looked at me. "And you are?" I asked him. "Oh how rude of me. I'm Travis Stella's cousin." He said with a smile. "And you are?" He asked me back. "I'm Evan Stella's fiancé." I said as I brought the water back to Stella's room and then me and Travis went into one of the small conference rooms. I told him everything even about the wheelchair, he cried at that point I didn't know what to do so I patted him on the back gently. "So you and Stella won't have a baby.. fuck that sucks. Stella always wanted a child. She loves children, hell she loved the shit out of her siblings but they weren't nice to her." He said. "The worst part for me was when she lost her whole years worth of memories with me. We were in Hawaii when the accident happened, it was our one year anniversary together." I said as he looked at me. "damn... that's rough." He said. "Yeah that's something, you know whats even more rough having your two siblings knowing that Stella can't stand because of her legs, pushed down a flight of stairs and then threw her wheelchair down." I said. "No offense but these people.. I know they're your family and I don't want to offend you.. but your family are greedy monsters. They all want Stella dead. Just so they can get their damn hands on her life insurance money to unscrew all the debt they're in. Your aunt and Uncle hired someone to kill her! But the second time she killed him." I explained. "Bow and Arrow?" He asked me. "Yeah how did you.. do you.. know this?" I asked confused. "I taught her archery. She really loved it. I knew some day it would come in handy." He said. "Can I see her?" He asked me as we both stood up. "Visiting hours are closed.. you'll have to come back in the morning." I said as he frowned. "Okay I'll see you both in the morning." He said as he walked off. "I'm back, did I miss anything?" I asked Stella ask she smiled. "This delicious carrot cake. I saved some for you." She said as she slid the plate over. "I ran into someone while getting ice for you water pitcher." I said as she smiled. "Who was it?" She asked. "That'll be a surprise." I said as I watched her fall back asleep.

The next morning I came out of the room and saw Travis walking with a bunch of flowers. He smiled. "Good to see you man! I can't wait to see the look on her face.. let's go!" Travis whispered. I walked into the room as Travis walked behind me. "Stella you have a visitor." I said as I pulled back the curtain and her eyes met with Travis's and she shed a tear. "Travis! Oh my god. You're here! I've missed you so much!" She said as Travis put the flowers down on the table and he walked up to her and held her close. "I came as fast as I could, I can't believe it... but don't worry. I won't let them hurt you anymore. You're coming to stay with me at my ranch. I'll make sure you're treated with care and compassion." He said as he pulled up a chair. "Travis you don't have to do that.." she said as she smiled. "I want to. You and Evan can stay as long as you'd like. I'll get you a home nurse." He said as Stella put up her hand. "On one condition, The nurse has to be Maggie." She said as Travis's eyes filled with excitement. "Maggie is a nurse, here at the hospital. She's your nurse. You're in great hands I promise you. If only she'll agree to come with us." Travis said. "Come with you where?" Maggie asked as Travis jumped a little. "I want you to be my cousin's in home nurse. I'll pay you twice what you make here. Will you come and help out your friend?" Travis asked. "Of course I will Travis, she's my best friend! Y'all need to give me ten minutes and it shall be arranged." She said as she ran to the nurses Station and her boss nodded and smiled. "He says yes, but I'll have to leave the hospital, I'd be fired." She said as she looked at us. "When do we leave?" She asked excitedly. "After lunch. Stella will need supplies I don't have anything at my house." He said as he looked at Maggie. "My boss will have y'all set up with her medications and supplies for her necessary treatment plan." Maggie said as I left the room and went to the snack machine. "I can't believe you came! I was so scared I had nobody else in the family who wanted to help.. and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you." Stella said as she sobbed and he looked at me. "I'm sure Evan will become buddies soon enough. Say do you like horses?" Travis asked me with a smile. "They're nice to look at, but physically no. I have not brushed or ridden a horse." I said with a small laugh. "Don't worry I'll teach you how to ride, but this little lass right here, is gonna have to teach you the grooming part." Travis said as he winked at Stella as she laughed. "I will. As soon as I recover slowly. I'd like one favor though." She said as she looked at Travis. "Name it, I'll do anything." He said with a smile. "I'd like to use one of your empty rooms to turn it into an art studio." She said as his eyes lit up. "Of course! You can have whatever you want!" He said as he stood there and looked at her. "All she draws is me." I said as he chuckled softly. "That's adorable." He said. "Oh by the way I got you a special surprise!" Travis said as he brought in an electric wheelchair... she gasped. "It's very thoughtful, but I need to exercise my arms. I can't keep them still for too long." She said with a smile. "It's no problem. It'll be around if you change your mind." Travis said as he had the nurse take it to the car. After lunch, She signed her release papers. I picked her up and placed her in her normal wheelchair as Maggie pushed it along. Travis helped Stella into the car and buckled her up. I sat beside her and held her hand. Maggie sat up front with Travis. There was barely any conversation in the car, the silence was killing me so I broke the awkward silence. "Thank you for doing all this Travis. We're both extremely grateful. I couldn't let those monsters take her back in. If there's anyway I can ever pay you back! Name it." I said as I looked at Stella as she smiled. "Hill!" Stella exclaimed in fear as we went down it and she began to cry. "Stella are you okay?" Travis said as he pulled over the car. "She has a fear of hills, you know adrenaline and it makes you feel good, it does the opposite in Stella's case." I explained. "I'm extremely sorry. I'll go slow down them..." He said as he pulled onto the highway again. When we arrived at the ranch, Stella was literally shaking in my arms. "It's okay Stella, babe look at me. Theres no more hills. We're on flat ground." I said as she nodded and I helped her into her wheelchair. "My god! Who are these people?" A young woman with blonde hair and green eyes, about my age which is 25, she ran down the porch steps and came up to us. "Rosetta!" Stella cried. "Stella? Stella! Oh my god you're.. in a wheelchair. What happened?" She said as she hugged me. "Bike accident. I'm paralyzed from the waist down." I said as she gasped and covered her mouth with her hand and she shed a tear. "That's horrible... don't worry cuz we'll take excellent care of you!" She said as she parked the wheelchair near a ramp. "You had them build me a ramp, convenient." She said as Rosetta pushed her up the ramp. "We're gonna have so much fun together! Just like when we were little." Rosetta said as she smiled. "Don't worry I got the bags, go ahead in." Travis insisted. "Please let me help." I said, "it's the least I can do for now." I said. "Nonsense! You're our guests, go inside. Ma will have dinner ready soon." He said also with a southern accent. Everyone had one, but Stella didn't. Which I found quite strange but hey what the hell did I know! Who cares. As long as they treat Stella like gold, I was letting down my guard. "Aunt Valery!" I heard Stella exclaim.

"My stars! I haven't heard that voice in quite a long time. Is that who I think it is." My aunt said as she came down the hallway. She saw me as she ran up and hugged me. "Dear god." She said as she closed her eyes. "Paralyzed, some kind of accident. Bike!" Aunt Valery said as she looked at Stella. "Yeah how did you.. oh right the psychic part." Stella said as her aunt smiled. "And who is this handsome guy traveling with you?" My aunt asked her with a smile. "Aunt Valery, this is Evan my fiancé. Evan this is my aunt Valery." Stella said as I shook her hand. "What's for dinner auntie?" She asked as Stella wheeled beside her. "Spaghetti with sauce and meatballs on the side. Also garlic bread. A nice Caesar Salad with Croutons for a starter." She explained happily. "Sounds spectacular." Stella said as she parked her wheelchair in the kitchen. "So what have you been up to?" Her aunt asked her. "It's difficult to talk about." Stella said as her aunt sat beside her. "Stella honey, you can tell us anything. We won't judge you. You know that." Her aunt said with sympathy in her eyes. So Stella Who was very emotional during the whole tale of events, her aunts face turned to anger and sadness and shock. "Dear lord. You poor child. They'll never see you again. We'll make sure of that." Her aunt said as she looked at us both. "I think I'm going to be sick. How could they do that to you? You're such a sweet person. I knew there was something wrong with auntie Emily and uncle Henry! they were always so kind, it was a fake kind." Travis said as we all joined together at the dinner table. "Would you like to say grace Stella?" Travis asked her. "It would be an honor."  She said as we all joined Hands and closed our eyes and lowered our heads, same routine like last time. "Dear lord, thank you for sending Travis to my side when I needed him the most. Thank you for this new home where I know I'll be safe and well taken care of. Thank you for my handsome fiancé Evan, thank you for everything... except for those time I knew you weren't there to help me... I guess you work in mysterious ways." Stella said as she choked up. "Oh honey." Her aunt said as she squeezed her hand gently. "Thank you for reuniting me with my real family and my best friend Maggie. God bless us all. Amen." I said as we all opened our eyes and smiled... Stella wasn't smiling though.. she was crying. "Babe? Why are you crying?" I asked her as I pulled her closer to me. "It's just that god wasn't there when I fell down those stairs or when grandma was poisoning me, or when I got buried underground..." she said as I held her close. "That's all in the past. It's time to move on." Her aunt said as she smiled. "Now wipe those tears away and smile. I love it when you smile." Valery said we all began to eat dinner. "Aunt Valery?" Stella asked as Valery looked up at her. "Yes honey?" She said back. "How come you never came to visit?" I asked her. "Well.. I wouldn't step one foot in that mess for one, and you're mama never told me you came back. If I would've known I would've driven over there and taken you away and brought you here." Aunt Valery said as she hugged Stella, it'll just be like old times! We can go pick vegetables! And fruit! And go shopping! And do whatever you'd like to do. As long as it's legal." Her aunt said with a small laugh. "I'm only joking, you're a good girl." She said as I watched them. I couldn't stop smiling. To see Stella this happy.. she deserves this a loving, caring, and stable home. I couldn't help myself I cried, I sat there at the table as I cried. Her aunt came over and put her hand on my shoulder. "Is everything alright Evan?" She asked me as I lifted my face and she wiped my tears away. "Happy tears. This is what I wanted for Stella because she means the world to me. Seeing her happy like this after all that... I just couldn't help myself." I cried as her aunt rubbed my back. "It's okay honey, let it all out. Crying is good. Even when it's happy tears." She said as she took the dirty dishes from me and made sure they were clean and put away. "I could've helped." Stella said with a smile. "Okay, tomorrow night I will let you put away the silverware. How does that sound?" Her asked Stella as Her eye lit up with joy. "Yay! Thank you auntie!" She said Valery kissed Stella's head and looked into her eyes. "Let me show you to your new room!" She said excitedly as she pushed me in the wheelchair. "Honestly I can use my hands." I tried to protest. "Oh nonsense, you can get your fingers jammed if you don't pay attention, besides you're my family. Now let's get you two ready for bed." She said as she opened a door and I looked amazed. It's like they knew she would come here one day and live here. "Rosetta decorated it just for you. She painted it and picked out everything. She used her money saved up from her birthdays and Christmas." Valery said as I saw tears streaming down Stella's face. "It's just like I drew it... she spent her savings... all of her saving on me! Evan get my bag and hand it to me." She said as I handed her the bag.  She took out a piece of drawing paper and showed it to her aunt. "It is exactly like your drawing." She said as she wheeled me to the bed. "Wipe those tears sweetie. Tomorrow morning we're gonna have some fun!" He aunt sang. I turned around so Valery and Stella had some privacy while she was helping Stella get into her night gown. "You can look now." She said as I turned around. "That's the one I bought you for your birthday last year. I know it's a little provocative, but it looks good on her. Don't you agree aunt Valery?" I asked Valery as she turned to me. "Yes it's quite Lacey. Looks good." Valery said as she smiled. "It's your turn mister. Don't you two try anything!" My aunt said as she laughed and shut the door behind her. "I like her she's nice and funny and she treats you like gold." I said as I stripped off my shirt and put my pajama pants on, I slipped into bed and covered up. "All done?" Aunt Valery asked as she knocked. "Yes we're all set for bedtime." I said as her aunt walked in. She kissed Stella on the forehead and smiled. "Goodnight you two love birds. Tomorrow we pick strawberries!" Her aunt said as she turned off Stella's lamp and shut the door, leaving us with the moon shining into the room, through the big curtain less window. We said our good nights and went to sleep.

"Down Town Police Precinct #22057 suspect is a Mr. Henry Collins, Father of the victim Stella Collins. This is a mandatory recording for the records. Do you know your rights?" Officer Dawson said as he looked across the table at Stella's father. "Yes damn it I understand." He growled softly. "Henry, Tell me how long you've physically abused Nancy and Fredrick. Because they're claiming it started at the age of 6. Have anything you'd like to say?" Dawson asked as her father looked right through him. "Fucking little liars, they'll play victim... I never hit my children until they did that to their sister, I was angry and upset. I meant to scare them not physically harm them... they're just so mean to my little Stella. Where is she?" Her father asked nervously. "She's in safe hands Henry, so you didn't harm Nancy and Fredrick... just that once.. I knew you'd snap sooner or later. Yes I know how they treated poor Stella. Poor little Stella... all she wanted was her family back. But then you took a life insurance policy out on her when you heard of the accident! You're sick Henry. How much were you gonna have her killed for!" Sheriff Dawson growled angrily. Her father was shaking and clenching his fists. "One million." He finally said. "One million dollars, my fellow policeman found boxes upon boxes of late fees and notices and unpaid bills. I know why you took that insurance policy out, for the money. So what if poor Stella who has been through hell after getting diagnosed as being paralyzed.. you wanted her dead, so you can get out of the debt you're in. She was gonna need special care and you know you couldn't afford it... so you hired this guy." Sheriff Dawson slapped a photograph of the dead intruder on the floor with arrows stuck into his body. Suffocation, poisoning, being thrown down the stair case almost dying in the process... give me one good reason not to lock your family up for this! It's a shame really. The judge would have a field day with you once she saw Stella. You could face death. That's if you cooperate. It's your choice, either way you, your wife, Nancy, Fredrick, and Rose are all going on trial." He said as his eyes filled with anger. "I can't believe this happened... I thought your family was good. But I was wrong. The only good you had was Stella." Sheriff Dawson said as he placed his police hat on the table. "We needed the money! Honestly, I loved Stella. But after seeing here in the condition she's in... I knew we would be sucked into more debt. So we talked it out and for four weeks we thought about it and the day before she showed up we got the life insurance." Henry cried as he shook his head. "Greedy.. Selfish.. this whole thing makes me sick. Stella deserves better." Sheriff Dawson said as he let Henry leave and brought in Nancy. "Sit down." I instructed her as she slumped in the chair. I inserted a new cassette tape and pressed record.

"Down Town Police Precinct #22057 suspect is a Nancy Collins, younger sister of our victim, Stella Collins. Nancy do you know your rights?" I asked her. "You have the right to remain silent anything you say can be used in court... yada yada yada." She said as she sharpened her nails. "I should be charging you and your weasel of a brother for attempted murder. Did you push Your sister down the stairs?" He asked her more forceful than nicely. "Yeah I did, kinda depressed it didn't kill her." Nancy said as Sheriff Dawson took Nancy's nail file and broke it and slammed it on the table making Nancy jump back. "Now I'm getting your attention.. good. Those pieces are your sisters legs, they were once whole and now they're broken, and you and Fredrick decided to take her out of her wheelchair, knowing she can't stand! Put in front of the top of the stairs, where she can't catch herself! And you pushed her knowing she'd fall down those stairs and she couldn't use her legs to stop herself. And then to top it all off you throw her wheelchair down to the first floor from the stair way up above!" Shouted Sheriff Dawson as he got closer to Nancy face. "According to your father this was all a big joke. Hahahahaha we just pushed our paralyzed sister down the stairs! I should throw you both in jail for attempted murder! shame on you Nancy, shame on you. Your own sister. Who showed you kindness and respect and loved you with all her heart.. do know what it's like to come to your neighbors house and see their daughter shaking in bed because her siblings tried to MURDER her! You never showed Stella any kindness or respect or even the slightest bite of love... all she wanted was her siblings to love her. Instead you envied her, you grew hateful and tormented her day after day until she was old enough to leave the house. Thank god she found Evan, he's the only thing keeping her sane." Sheriff Dawson barked. Nancy face filled with rage and tears came down her face. "You don't know what it's like! Having a sister who kissed mom and dads asses. She's a good two shoes. She got all the attention! She.." but before she could say anything else, he slapped her across the face. "How dare you speak about Stella in such a way. Yes she was a good child. It's kind of like Cinderella, Stella has everything she ever wanted, you mistreated her half of her life with Fredrick by your side and whenever your sister needed you there for her you'd turn away and refuse to help." Sheriff Dawson said as Nancy stood up. "Nancy I'm sorry I hit you, I was just angry. Please sit back down. I have tons of other things to discuss." Sheriff Dawson sighed as Nancy slowly sat back down. "So do you wanna tell me why you wanted to kill your sister, let me guess! It's the money! Ding Ding Ding! Do you know everyone in your family wants her dead.. even your grandmother!" He said as he turned away. "Greed. It runs in the family I see. Stella dies you get the inheritance Stella would've gotten if she would live. Your parents needed her death money to get their way out of financial debt. And grandma rose.. she has no reason. There's someone here who would very much like to see you." He said as Travis walked into the room and Nancy's face turned white as a ghost. "T-Travis..." was all she could say. "Hello Nancy. Wish to say it was a pleasure to see you again. But It's not. Actually, I'm quite pissed you did what you did to poor Stella. What did Stella ever do to you?!" Travis Barked angrily. "I'm not going to answer a damn thing you say... fuck off." She snapped at Travis. "Oh you're gonna spill everything out, on tape, in front of a judge and jury.. and you will be put in jail! Or maybe they'll put you down like a dangerous dog.." Travis said. "Stella is lucky to be alive, she'd be dead if I hadn't saved her from the hospital. You listen and you listen good. Stella may never be able to say what I'm about to. So here it comes. You're a spoiled brat, you don't care about your sister. You should've been sent to boarding school. You have no respect towards Stella. I saw you! And fredrick! How you treated her growing up. It makes me sick that you would kill your kin for money. Thanks to us at the ranch, we treat her like gold. You treated her like a pile of garbage. Blamed everything on her. Bullied her day after day after day. I was the only one she had! You're meant to be locked up in jail. Face reality and get to know how serious this consequence is." Travis said as Nancy looked away. "You're my cousin.. you're supposed to love and help me. Please get me out of here!" She cried as Travis laughed. "Did you love or help Stella? Nope. Sorry can't do kiddo, you're on your own now. I'll see you in court." Travis said as he got up and gave a tip of his hat in respect for Sheriff Dawson. "Please don't go!" Nancy cried but it was too late she was stuck.

"Down Town Police Precinct #22057 Suspect is a Mr. Fredrick Collins, Brother Of Stella Collins. You know your rights?" Sheriff Dawson asked raising an eyebrow. "Yes I know my rights, I went to law school for a year." Fredrick said as he fixed himself in his chair. "How did you become so stupid after one year of law school?! You should know it's against the law to abuse and attempt to kill your sister Stella. That's who we're here to talk about. Tell me what kind of relationship did you have with your middle sister. Was it a good one?" Sheriff asked nicely. "We didn't have one." Fredrick said as he looked into Sheriff Dawson's eyes. "My notepad says otherwise, one filled with bullying, hatred and neglect." Sheriff Dawson said as Fredrick stood still. "Neglect?" Fredrick asked in confusion. "Yes, Neglect." The sheriff said as he sat across from Fredrick. "Neglect from what?" Fredrick challenged. "Neglect from accepting your sisters love. Stella loved you very much. But on the other hand you treated her like TRASH. And you know what the worst part of that is? Bullying your sister, making her feel fearful and depressed growing up. You and Nancy really were brats. Stella used to stay over at my place because she's best friends with my daughter Bethany, because you wouldn't STOP blaming stuff on her, calling her names, saying she should... fucking sick." Sheriff Dawson said as he began to tear up. "Little kids who have a heart couldn't even say that to their own siblings at that age, you certainly did and you enjoy every second of her every minute of every day. You loved to watch her cry, and you probably got your friends to join in! DIDN'T you!" Sheriff Dawson said as slammed his hand fists on the table. "Stella was the sweetest most kindest person I have ever met, I honestly don't know how two rotten apples ended up being her siblings. You should be ASHAMED of yourself! Pushing your sister down the stairs! Pouring water all over her artwork, almost breaking her wheelchair! She's got a new home and a better wheelchair. And she's safe. And happy. Nothing she felt where you and Nancy were around. You and Nancy should be facing criminal charges and be on trial! But you're sister is too kind to say yes to pressing charges. So her new caretaker and I discussed it over the phone, that in Stella's best interest to press charges and I agreed. So you're now under arrest!" Sheriff Dawson said as Fredrick ran from the room, down the hallway and outside into the street where he was struck by a car, he broke his arm. "You're going to jail, there's no way out of it. Stella's better off without you two... and everyone else in that house." The sheriff said at the hospital. "Your Family, Including grandma Rose are going on trial for attempted murder and murder by hire. Also abuse, against your father but that's only for you and your sister. Your sweet little grandmother tried to poison your sister with arsenic, thank god we saved her. As if you care about her. You don't. Which is very sad, because she cared a whole lot of hell about you. All she wanted was to be loved by you and look up to you, and be your friend." Sheriff Dawson said as an officer put the handcuffs on Fredrick's hands and they locked him up. They did the same for the whole family, except for grandma rose, Sheriff Dawson had a hard time believing what happened.

"Down Town Police Precinct #22057 Suspect is a Mrs. Rose Collins, Stella's grandmother. You know your rights?" I asked asked her gently. "Yes I know them dear. I also know why I'm here." She said as she smiled softly. "You poisoned your granddaughter with arsenic. Do you object these allegations to be true?" Sheriff Dawson asked as he sat across the table from her. "I blame Evan." She said as Sheriff Dawson looked surprised. "What makes you think it was Evan? All signs point to you. He was with her when she became ill after you brought her the tea. Finger prints on the frying pan match your hand, you struck Evan over the head and knocked him unconscious. Tell me that's not true.." Sheriff Dawson said as he looked into her eyes. "Rose you're no killer, or a monster. I've known you for a long while.. you're not like the others. Tell me why." Sheriff Dawson said calmly. "If it weren't for that rotten boy, Stella would still have her legs! But he took her on vacation." Grandma Rose said. "Now Rose, they didn't know this would happen that's why they call it an accident. Evan is a good guy. He cares and loves Stella deeply. That's getting off topic. Did you do those things?" He asked as took out his notepad. "If you're not comfortable talking about you may write a confession on paper and you will stand trial with the rest of the family." He said as he slid grandma Rose his pad of paper and a pen.

Grandma rose looked him straight in the eyes. "I'll talk." She finally said. "Great, now what in God's name were you thinking?" He said with a sigh. "I thought if she'd die, she wouldn't be suffering anymore! I never planned to do this. I thought it'd be one teaspoon and she'd die. I didn't know it would do the things it did. I hit Evan over the head because he knew what he had found. I didn't want him to make a scene. I love my grand daughter, I just don't love to see her in that god awful chair." Grandma Rose said as she broke down. "Stella Nearly died, but the hospital saved her life and she's now recovering. What you did was horrible. I know seeing her in that wheelchair is hard, it's hard for me too, but that doesn't give you the right to poison her. I'm sorry Rose, but I'm gonna have to place you under arrest." He said as he took out his cuffs.

"B-But for what?" She said nervously. "For attempted murder. I'm sorry Rose you broke the law. I was hoping you were better than those others. I hate it to be this way." He said as he cuffed her and she was placed with the family. Everyone gasped as an unexpected visitor showed up in front of the cell. "What are you doing here? I thought you were in the hospital!" Henry said angrily. "Calm down son." Rose said as he took a breathe and apologized. It was Stella. "I-I came to say goodbye. I know you'll end up in jail, I can't forgive what you've done to me. So I'll no longer be in contact with you. I loved you all so much, and you all wanted me dead. Burn in hell." Stella said Maggie rolled her away. "It's okay honey, they can't harm you anymore!" Maggie said as she rubbed Stella on the back. "I know, I trusted the wrong people, I loved the wrong people. I didn't belong in that family. I never felt I did." Stella said as Maggie rolled her into the interrogation room. Stella grew nervous. "W-Why am I in here? I didn't break any laws." Stella cried. "Of course you're not in trouble if that's what you mean." Sheriff Dawson said as he walked up to Stella and placed papers on the table. "I need you to sign these statements so I can present them to the court, you are not forced to go. But it would help your case if you did join me." Sheriff Dawson said as Stella took the pen from him and signed each paper. "It'll be hard on me but with you, Evan, aunt Valery, Maggie, Rosetta, Travis.. where's uncle Hank?" She asked Sheriff Dawson as he looked at him. "He spends all of his time in that damn barn of his. Only goes in there once everyone else is asleep, and wakes up very early. Try not to stare at his face." The sheriff said. "His face? What do you mean?" She asked confused. "Fire poker burned him on his face. He's got a big scar from his cheek to his to his forehead." He explained as she nodded. "But maybe he won't be offended so terribly once he sees you like that. I'm so fucking sorry that happened. If I could reverse time.." he said to her. "Sheriff I get it, Every one wants to, but we can't. I just have to go live my life. Enjoy being with my family and having fun. Aunt Valery said we're gonna go pick blueberries tomorrow! I'll bring your crew a surprise! Fourteen people right?" She asked him with a smile. "That's right, unless you count Ginger. Come here girl!" He said as he whistled and ginger came into the room. As soon as she saw me she pounced onto my wheelchair and licked me on my face. "I've missed you too ginger. Who's a good girl! You are! I remember when she was just a small thing." Stella laughed. "Okay ginger down." He said as she got down and sat by his side. "It's been a long time. Why don't you stop over and say hi to Bethany! She'd be so happy to see you again. Why don't you take her along if it's okay with your family." He said as he smiled. "I'm sure they won't mind at all." I said as he smiled

I was about to have an amazing day!
