Looming walls
surround me,
painted a green
that was neither
too dark
or too bright,

but a soft,
mellow one.

Cracks spread,
one leading to another,
until a layer of cracks
blanket the once magnificent walls.

They start to crumble away,
pieces falling down to me,

collapsing in on itself,
collapsing in on me.

The bare earth
shakes beneath my toes.

And then it all stops.

And all there is left
are pieces of green.
