Day 1

Jared's POV
We brought Sabrina back to her home. She seemed normal. But we needed to stay with her till she's done with a one week treatment of her prescribed medicine. Since Aunt Charlie is too old to take care of suicidal tendencies that Sabrina was going through. I was listening to her story with deep interest and so was Lily. I could see her expression how she was trying to analyse and go deep into roots of her problem.
I learned that Morris had made Sabrina to keep away from her friends. He wanted her to be with him all the time and agree with him in all his plans.

"She looks definitely fine" said Lily to me when Sabrina went in the kitchen to make us coffee. She didn't had any maid.
"And her house seems too expensive"

Yes, her house was actually full of expensive artifacts. We actually couldn't believe the story she had said us about her childhood spent in recession and no money to go school. Her Mom struggling for her family and her Dad admitted to hospital due to liver issues. Though her Dad had expired due to some complications. She didn't said where her Mom was and how did they overcame the recession.

We let Sabrina take some sleep. "I don't want to sleep. I have slept the whole week"

"No....You had your dose now get some rest"

"Let me show you around"

"We will. But after some days of rest"

Lily was actually demanding her as her elder sister. I took Lily to nearby shops. We took a long walk without getting a cab. It was fun. Discovering the surrounding. Lily posing for photographs. Uploading it on social media and getting buzzed with the sound of notifications for each like and comment over her phone. I hated the time when she gets busy with her phone. I am not much into social media. I have less number of friends and hated when my haters (who once used to be my best friends) had a big list of friends on their profile. They may be not bad people. But, we can't change things for people even if we want to.

It was nearly evening. "Sabrina would be wake" Said Lily, after she realized that she has reached the peak of using her phone in front of me, about which we had discussed and set some limits.

"So, Shall we?" I waved my hand in the direction towards where we had to return home.

We stepped inside the gate. Lily was staring continuously towards Charlie's window. I grabbed her shoulder and asked her to come inside the door fast.

"So you are back?" We heard Sabrina calling out from the porch.

I saw Sabrina still busy in reading the book. Her head was literally inside the book, as she was going through each and every letter. And without letting anything and anyone distracting her.

"Let's go Sabrina, let's make some dinner" Lily said as to bring her attention back to her real life.

"Charlie will make some for us" Sabrina stood with her face still in the book. She came near us without hitting anything that came her way and said.."Just a min...Just one more sentence" She turned the page and continued till the paragraph finishes. I was staring at her with both my hands in my pockets. When I glanced at Lily, she mouthed me "Handsome" By the time I smiled at her, Sabrina had finished reading the paragraph. She kept the book at nearby table. "So, let's go at the Nest"

I opened the door and we stepped in beautiful climate of fading blue sky.

-------xxxx------

Lily's POV

We still felt as newbies in 'The Nest' which was the name of Charlie's house. Yes, The Nest was beautifully decorated. I wonder how Charlie managed to keep everything without a maid. She didn't greeted us as we entered the house. We took our seats and Sabrina was continuously telling us about Charlie. But we noticed the things are not like the way Sabrina was actually telling us. Charlie gave a hard smile. Only four of us were present for dinner. It seemed Charlie too lived alone like Sabrina. So this wasn't shocking to guess why they both liked to stay with each other. But I don't find this healthy. Until and unless we get out into the world and mingle with people, we can't get over our issues.

Charlie has really made heavenly food. "Don't you have a cell-phone?" I asked Sabrina by waving my phone at her.

"Yes, I have one !"

"So, Don't you chat with your close friends. Or keep yourself updated on social sites?"

"Social sites are boring"

I looked shockingly with wide eyes at her. Jared gave a grin at her answer.

"Oh, So I am the only normal here! And you are sad because you are left alone! If you don't step out then how can you reach people? Am I right, Charlie"

"Shh..Eat in silence. And if she doesn't feel like socializing, you can't force her"

"Charlie, dinner is very tasty" I sipped some wine and continued "But, you can't let her lock up all her life and did you called Morris? I think you should catch up with him. See what he's been up to"

"We don't talk anymore" Sabrina's face turned sad

"Okay, So the robbery thing went bad. I think" I saw Jared, he was busy demolishing over shrimp fried rice.

"You told them about Morris. That story is just a waste of time, dear"

"That story isn't waste of time" Sabrina yelled

"But you shouldn't tell about it to anyone" I saw Charlie whispering her

And Jared wasn't even paying attention to this.

"Please, they have to know. They should know the reason" She tried to whisper in wide eyes like I am not listening.

I saw both of them struggling over the Morris thing, like we were not present there and I was looking at them one by one with every uttered word. And there was the time when Charlie went gossiping in her ear by enclosing her hand in cup shape around her mouth and I went near them so I can't miss a word. Charlie dropped the gossip when she saw me taking more interest.

"What was this? Is Morris still around? Do you still love him? Then I think you should tell him"

"No..." I heard Charlie saying in a firm voice "Morris is not around. Now eat in silence"

"Ummmm..." Jared said with a chewing blurred voice "Thanx for shutting them up"

And, we ate our dinner in silence. So boring, it was !!!

I was afraid, If Jared became like them. Because, he was actually enjoying the food in silence.

Seriously, I am the only normal one here !

------xxx------

"Did you see that?" Lily whispered me

"Let it be, who wants to talk about the past"

"Yes, but still, there wasn't any harm in discussing. was there ? I think she's controlling Sabrina too much"

"They both need each other"

"Seriously, now won't you call Sabrina a maniac for being an attention seeker"

Sabrina came with a stack of papers.

"Here" She handed me a column of old newspaper

Charlie was knitting the sweater and hearing our conversation. She nodded her head and gave a sign of agreement as Sabrina continued her story.

I started reading the scrap of newspaper which was kept safely protective inside a sheet of thin polymer, which Sabrina had handed me. It was from an old newspaper. I Started reading the headline:

MURDER OF A SENIOR CITIZEN

' Unknown number of men are found to be convicted for murdering an old man living at Oak street in Townsville city. The investigation concludes that since the victim had a lots of money stacked in his home and was living alone, robbers found a star shining chance to grab the diamonds from the sky. The old man whose name was Harris Jones, age 70, was found dead with the gun shot in his head. The safe was found broken. All the money was taken away from the house which is estimated to be 20 million dollars. It is assumed that the robbers must have got inside the house from back door which must have left open by Harris'

I stopped reading further. Lily took the scrap of newspaper and started reading it within her breath which was inaudible.
