Chapter 11-Confirmation

A/N: I'm really sorry for not updating lately, April has been very busy for me. But hopefully I can get back on my updating schedule now. :) Also, I tried to get this out as soon as possible, so there might be some errors. If there are, please let me know, and I will fix it. Shoutout to @millerp3949 and @Twilight_Is_Awesome their votes (that I saw when I checked my notifications) gave me the final push to finish this chapter. Thank you guys!

Bella's POV

The next few days went by in a daze. I did everything with a constant second heartbeat of realization throbbing in my head, accompanying me everywhere.

Edward is a vampire

His whole family are vampires

Vampires are real

Despite Jacob's protests of "Relax Bella, it's just a legend." I firmly believed it to be true. I needed it to be true. I needed something to explain this strange, twisted world I was living in.

Lately, ever since I talked to Jacob, Edward has been looking at me strangely. It is almost like he knows that I figured out what he is.

I was lost in thought, that I almost jumped when Edward shouted my name in my ear frantically.

"Wha-" I began, but broke off when I realized that it was just Edward.

"Bella, what's been bugging you these past couple of days?" He asked carefully, and I felt my heart drop.

"Um . . . nothing! Everything is perfectly fine!" I replied, putting on what I hoped was a casual face.

"Bella. You can tell me anything. I promise I won't tell anyone." He promised. I really wanted to ask him if he was a vampire or not, and just get it over with, but I didn't have the guts to do it, and didn't know how to approach the topic.

"Please, Bella." He begged. I looked into his eyes. They were golden brown, and there was such a helpless pleading look in them, that my resistance just crumbled.

"Okay, fine." I relented, "But first, I have a question." I needed to be sure before I asked him. I needed to be sure that my theory was correct.

"Do you believe in vampires and werewolves. I mean, do you believe that they are real?" I asked, cautiously. A flash of surprise crossed his face, before he quickly hid it. I seemed to be considering what to say, weighing his options. He bit his lip, and replied carefully, "Why? Do you?" I opened my mouth to reply, but I was at a loss of words. How did one tell someone else that they knew they were a vampire.

"I . . . I'm not sure." I said uncertainly. I prayed for the bell to ring, hoping to end this awkwardness. Glancing at my watch, I was dismayed to realize that there was still twenty minutes of lunch left. I briefly considered making up an excuse and leaving, but part of me wanted to stay here and get this over with.

"I know what you are." I finally managed, after a period of silence, my voice coming out in a strained whisper. I half expected the whole cafeteria to quiet and hear our conversation, but that kind of thing obviously only happens in movies. I could feel eyes on me, so I glanced behind me, only to see the rest of the Cullen family laughing at something. I finally lifted my eyes and met Edward's gaze. His eyes were hard.

"Say it. What am I?" He asked, looking my straight in the eye.

Weighing my choices, I decided to just tell him straight out. "You're a vampire." I breathed. Looking down at the table, I peeked at him out of the corner of my eye, wondering how he would react.

"Good job. You got it right. Bingo." He commented dryly. Then, he picked up his tray, and promptly left the cafeteria.

Edward's POV

Bella has seemed . . . off these last couple of days. It's almost like she's hiding something. Usually, I'm glad that I can't read her mind, as to give her privacy, but it is times like this when I wish that read her mind like I could read others'.

We were eating lunch, and Bella was staring at me her thoughts a million miles away. This had been happening very often lately, and I needed to get to the bottom of this.

"Bella?" I asked cautiously. There was no response.

"Bella?" I asked again. There was still no response.

"Bella!" I exclaimed. She jolted out of her daze.

"Wha-" she began, gaze landing on me, "Oh . . . sorry, I got distracted."

"Bella, what's been bugging you these past couple of days?" I inquired carefully.

"Um . . . nothing! Everything is perfectly fine!" Bella yelped, but she was clearly hiding something. Her face contorted into a grimace.

"Bella. You can tell me anything. I promise I won't tell anyone." I soothed. She was visibly fidgeting now, clearly wanting to tell me and not tell me at the same time.

"Please, Bella." I begged.

"Okay, fine." she relented, "But first, I have a question." I nodded my head, gesturing for her to go on.

"Do you believe in vampires and werewolves. I mean, do you believe that they are real?"

I gulped. How did she find out? Did I let it slip somehow? How, how, HOW did she find out? Not knowing how to respond, I decided to just stall for time instead, and answer her question with another question.

"Why? Do you?" I asked. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but then closed it, and she glanced up at the celling, her face closed off, clearly thinking.

"I . . . I'm not sure." she said, with an edge to her voice, almost as if she were navigating across a difficult playing field. There was a period of silence as the closed her eyes, as if she was preparing herself for something.

"I know what you are." she whispered, eyes darting around nervously.

Edward! What are you doing? We need to have a talk after school. Alice's thoughts broke me out of my daze.

"So you were eavesdropping again, Alice?" I muttered, soft enough so that only she, and the rest of the family could hear me. Her thoughts went quiet. I could see them watching us, with expressions like they were watching an interesting movie or broadway. Bella, as if sensing their stares turned around to look at them, but they just laughed, pretending to be caught up in their own conversations. I watched her, waiting for her to tell me that she knew we were vampires, when she finally met my gaze. I could feel her waiting for me to say something.

"Say it." I challenged her, "What am I?"

She hesitated, and then whispered "You're a vampire." Then, she let out a big breath, and looked at the table, looking at me out of the corner of her eye to see my reaction. Not knowing how to respond, I just simply said, "Good job. You got it right. Bingo."

Not knowing what to do, I just picked up my lunch tray, and got out of the cafeteria as fast as me walking at human speed would allow.

I leaned on the wall near the door, and watched as my siblings hurried out.

"Edward! We are having a family meeting about this . . . problem . . . after school today. Come home immediately." With that, she and the rest of my adopted sibling went on the their next classes, just as the bell rang. I sighed, biology was going to be awkward.
