Chapter 17-Date

A/N: I'm probably just going to write about other stuff, but not about school unless there is drama because that's boring.

Thank you for being so patient with me. I know I keep on updating late and I'm really sorry. I was on vacation to China for 3 weeks, and then at a 3 week overnight camp and . . .

1) I didn't bring my laptop with me

2) I didn't have time to write

3) I couldn't access Wattpad for some reason (in China). I wonder if it is banned like Google is in China.

So, super sorry. *Cowers behind stack of books* Also, last but not least, shoutout to choirgirl11FantasyFandomGirlCreativeStoryteller_jess1848_, JessicaVillalobos542, and IvySnow01 for commenting last chapter. I saw your comments and really wanted to update, so this is for you guys. Again, not edited, and feel free to correct any errors you might have noticed. Love you guys! Enjoy!

Bella's POV

"Want to go on a date with me?" Edward murmured in my ear, his warm breath tickling my ear.

I giggled. "Sure."

He smiled, "I'll pick you up at 6:00 sharp."

I nodded, butterflies already starting to make themselves known in my stomach. We rode back to my house in a comfortable silence. "Remember, 6:00 sharp." Edward winked at me, before pulling away.

I settled down on my desk and did my homework as fast as possible, and then flipped open a book, while keeping a close eye on the time. By 5:55, I was out waiting patiently on the porch, fingers drumming on my knee nervously.

Five anticipation-filled tense minutes later, he arrived. Placing me into the car, he gracefully sat down and we zoomed away. "Where are we going?" I asked him.

"It's a surprise." He smiled mysteriously.

"You know I hate surprises," I groaned. A while later, we stopped in front of a trail leading into the forest, looking strangely familiar. " . . . baseball?"

"No, something else. You'll see." Edward replied as he lifted me into my wheelchair. "Hold on," he said as he hoisted my wheelchair up. And then he was running. He streaked through the dark, thick underbrush of the forest like a bullet, like a ghost. There was no sound, no evidence that his feet touched the earth. His breathing never changed, never indicated any effort. But the trees flew by at deadly speeds, always missing us by inches.

Then it was over.

I gasped in amazement as Edward put me down. The meadow was small, perfectly round, and filled with wildflowers - violet, yellow, and soft white. Somewhere nearby, I could hear the bubbling music of a stream. The sun was peeking out from the tops of the distant mountain, causing streaks of light to illuminate the circle. Thankfully, the ground was flat and stable enough for my wheelchair, so I wheeled myself slowly, awestruck, through the soft grass, swaying flowers, and warm, gilded air. I opened my mouth to express my wonder of this place, when I realized that he was no longer behind me. I looked from side to side, only to find him sitting on a picnic blanket in the middle of the meadow, a place untouched by sunlight. I spotted some unlit candles around the blanket, clearly for light after the sun had set. Sitting besides him was a basket of food. He watched me as a rolled over to him, and hoisted me out of my wheelchair once again, and into the blanket. He seemed to consider something for a moment, and then relent.

"Watch this." He told me, and swiftly stepped out onto one of the last remaining streaks of sunlight.

Edward in the sunlight was shocking. His skin, literally sparkled, like thousands of tiny diamonds were embedded in the surface. He stood perfectly still, eyes trained on me, gauging my reaction. A perfect statue, carved in some unknown stone, smooth like marble, glittering like crystal. My jaw dropped.

"Do all vampires sparkle in the sunlight?" I managed to stutter out through my awe.

----------

"Edward, please thank your mother for me, she is an amazing cook." I told him, savoring the taste of the perfectly cooked pasta.

He smiled lazily up at me from where he was laying. Seeing him in such a good mood, I decided to try to convince him to change me again.

"Edward?"I asked.

"Yes, Bella?" He hummed.

"I want to spend all of the rest of eternity with you," I murmured.

His eyes hardened. "Definitely not Bella. I'm not going to change you. You don't know what it's like, being a monster like me."

"You're not a monster Edward. I love you."

"No." He growled. "I can pay for the operation, but I'm not changing you."

"Fine then, I'm not going to let you pay for the operation then, if I'm not going to spend forever with you. I don't want to grow old while you stay young forever. It's not going to work."

"Fine." Edward scowled, then softened. "I don't want to ruin this night. Let's just discuss this some other day."

I nodded, "Let's just enjoy this evening."
