Chapter One

Summer's eyes snapped open at the shrill sound of the alarm on her bedside table. She groaned lowly in annoyance before sitting up and slapping the stop button on the top of the clock, 7:30 a.m. A yawn escaped her mouth as she raised her arms above her head and stretched out her back with a satisfying pop. She threw her blanket off of her body before jumping out of bed with a sigh at the idea of another busy day at the bank. At least it was finally Friday and she didn't have to be in until 9:00. She grabbed her phone from the dresser on the other side of the room and unlocked it to find a new message from her best friend Marnie.

'You excited for tonight?!' The text read on her constantly dimmed screen.

She took a second and replied with an excited 'Hell yeah!!' before heading out of the room and into the bathroom for a quick shower. After grabbing a towel from the small cupboard and laying it on the sink before starting the shower and changing out of her pajamas. Once the shower was hot enough she jumped inside and quickly washed and conditioned her hair with a sigh as she started to hum a song to herself.

Once she'd finished rinsing out the conditioner from her hair she turned off the water before stepping out and drying off. She gathered up her pj's and returned to her bedroom chucking the clothes into the clothes hamper. Opening the door to her closet she started to go through all of her clothes before settling on a red blouse with ruffles in the front and a pair of black slacks. She then set them aside on her bed before changing into a graphic tee and shorts

After dressing she pulled on her slippers before picking up the full laundry bin and heading into the small laundry room. She walked up to the stackable washer and dryer in the far corner of the narrow room leaving the only door in and out wide open. She placed the bin on the floor in front of the washer before kneeling before it. Opening the door she grabbed the scent boosters and threw a scoop full into the drum of the washer and filled it up with a load of colored clothes. She filled the compartments with detergent and softener respectively before turning to head out of the laundry room.

She paused for a moment as her phone dinged indicating that she'd just gotten a text. A smile widened on her face at yet another text from Marnie. As she pulled her phone out to reply she just so happened to look up toward the door before letting out a shocked gasp. Instead of the normal open door that led to the rest of her apartment were a large floating purple and red-lit portal. She looked around the room with a look of confusion look on her face as she stood there dumbfounded. From the other side of the portal, she could hear the sound of car horns blaring and engines revving. She didn't know what to do. There were no windows in this tiny little room so she was now trapped with her only escape being through the portal. Without much else to do, she ran to grab a spare sock and threw it through the portal, and jumped back half expecting it to explode. When the sock didn't explode into tiny little bits of fluff she began to inch her way forward.

"Well, I guess I don't have any other choice." She mumbled before walking up to the portal with an incredulous look on her face. As she walked up to the portal she hesitantly put one hand through the portal with a grimace half expecting the portal to bite her. When she didn't feel her hand being cut off or bitten she decided to peek her head through the portal.

Once her head first peeked through the other side of the portal she saw that it led to New York city?! Just as she leaned through she realized that there was no ground on the other side of the portal just open air and another rooftop across the way. Before she realized it she had leaned too far forward and was now slipping the rest of the way through the portal.

She screamed as she fell covering her face with her arms as she braced for impact on the hard roof below. A split second before she hit the ground she turned on her side and as she hit the roof she heard a sickening pop in her shoulder before she rolled the rest of the way across the roof. The hard cement and uneven surface of the roof ended up scraping and cutting deep into her arms as she went. She finally stopped in the middle of the roof and groaned deeply at the new deep cuts in her arms. Slowly she sat up, her left shoulder was killing her as that same arm hung loosely in her lap.

"Fuck!" She groans at the aching pain in her shoulder. Slowly she pulled herself to her feet with a pained sigh. She took a moment to breathe before finally taking a look at her surroundings. As she looked back to the right her body froze as a cold shiver ran down her spine. Her breath caught in her throat as she looked at the tall building with what looked like a traditional Japanese shrine or dojo atop it. She clenched her hands tightly into fists as she watched with a look of disdain on her face as the symbol for the Shredder and his clan of ninjas. She rubbed her face and pinched her cheek to try and force herself to wake up but to no avail. She was in the New York City of her favorite version of the teenage mutant ninja turtles cartoon show.
