Chapter Three: Spring Part Three

Brice tumbled to the ground when someone ran into him. He propped his head up with one of his hand and blinked a few times to clear his eyes. When he opened them, he noticed a brown haired male lying almost directly across from him. A few packages, wrapped in brown paper, were scattered around the young male.

"No no no no no no!" The male cried with fear and a tad bit of anger. He began to furiously pick up the now soggy packages, letting out a curse whenever a package was heavily soaked and a sigh of relief when one seemed barely scratched.

Brice didn't know how to respond. Should he apologize, offer to help, just leave? He decided on a neutral response and would just hope it was the right choice. "H-hey, are you alright?"

"No, I'm not alright! You just cost me a thousand dollars!" The other male snapped, his voice full of venom and anger.

     "Dude, calm down, I'm s-"

"Brice, what did you do now?!" He heard from ahead of him on the path. Both of the fallen men switched their gaze over the source of the voice. It was Adam, who had turned back when Brice didn't respond to a question he had asked, with Ty close behind.

Ty closed the gap between them and held out an arm to help Brice up, to which the blonde haired male gladly took. He muttered a thanks before turning back to look at the guy still studying his packages. "U-um... D-do you need any help..?" He asked redundantly as he reached out a hand of his own to help up the fallen person. He let out a huff of anger and stood up by himself, which was actually quite a feat, considering he held numerous now mostly ruined items in his arms.

"Unless you have a thousand dollars to repay me, no, I don't need your help!" Ty and Adam's eyes widened slightly at the amount of money that was due, and one of them muttered something about meeting the guys at the restaurant before they both quickly sprinted away.

Brice shook his head. "I-I don't really have that amount of money right now... Or any money for that matter..." He smiled a sad, awkward smile before shifting his weight to his right leg.

At this the other males gaze soften slightly and he somehow managed to pull a business card out of his pocket, despite his full arms. "Well, we can come up with something later. Here's my card, just call me if you want to make an arrangement. Preferably soon. Now I've got an appointment to get to," he flashed a brief smile before continuing down the path he was previously walking down.

Brice glanced down at the business card held in his hand. Seto S. Magiks. Book Entrepreneur Seller Person. <<insert phone number and address here>>. The card seemed to be handmade and had loopy cursive handwriting with a drawing of a book in the corner. As he continued towards the sushi restaurant that had been his original target, he thought the encounter over. The boy had cute, fluffy hair and brown doe-eyes that made him look so innocent and adorable...

The fact that he just said the boy was cute concerned him.

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. His 'friends' at the restaurant mocked Brice for running into 'that random crazy guy' (aka Seto), and then proceeded to annoy everyone else so much that they were thrown out of the place and banned from ever entering again. Yep, pretty uneventful. They all then hung out around town after that, doing nothing really, just talking and climbing things while Brice stood on the sidelines awkwardly.

At around ten-ish, the group dispersed. Well, it was more like Brice said he needed to get some rest for 'work tomorrow' and walked as quickly away from everyone else while trying to not look weird. Once he rounded the corner and got out of view of everyone else, he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. Geez, those guys really did scare him.

While walking home, he began to contemplate the meaning of life and death and if destiny was real. Well, mainly if it was 'destiny' or 'fate' that he ran into the guy on the streets, or just merely a coincidence. Maybe he would never see Seto again, or maybe they were destined to be 'best friends' and see each other everyday and grow old together and buy a cat named Buckets that was really picky about what he ate and took those really cute photo booth pictures in a real photo booth at the beach...

Ah, stop it brain! He shook his head to clear his thoughts and went to pull his jacket tighter around himself but realized he wasn't wearing one. Damn it. Brice shivered again and continued to walk, thinking about lighter things like something Adam mentioned.

Apparently his fiancé was pregnant and he was super excited about it. The wedding was to be scheduled after the baby was born in six or so months. They hadn't sent out invitations yet, but Brice was hoping he was invited, and considering how Adam had been reaching out to the blonde a bit more then usual lately, it was likely he was. Now all he needed was a date... Well, he still had like a year, so it wasn't that much of a rush. And besides, who actually brought wedding dates anymore?

Brice finally reached his apartment building and climbed a few flights of stairs to his actual apartment. He pulled out his keys (he remembered to bring them, for once) and unlocked the door, stepping inside before gently closing the door behind him. Yep, he left the window open next to his painting and now all the colors were smeared. Crap.
